This is mainly Watchmaking enthusiast channel, but I will post videos with my experience from various projects including CNC tools using and 3D printing.
3D Printed DIY Leather Splitter Skiver
This is guide to assemble procedure of my 3D printed leather splitter. As there are many expensive nice brands on market, I decided to make my own 3D printed device using standard component available on market.
Splitter has resizable structure, it can be implemented for different roller/blade length, 100mm to 200mm is the reasonable range.
Roller I use in this project is 33mm diameter, 200mm length and 12mm preinstall shaft, but it can be in range of 25mm to 40mm, with 8mm,10,12mm shafts.

Here is my next video of watch dial making for Seiko Mod. This watch is custom made for my good neighbour and friend son. He has 21st birthday celebration recently. It based on NH36A Seiko movement, Samurai Style stainless steel case 43mm with aluminium chapter ring and custom made dial it self. Dial is 38mm diameter made of cupronickel and silver plated. Absolutely amazing. That dial is so beautiful. You’ve definitely earned my like & sub
How much are you taking off per pass with the initial facing operation, I assume your going down to 0.4mm final depth?
What kind of paint do you use for watch dial, as i see this paint is very resistanse?
Amazing work. What kind of paint did you use for dial and indicators?
I thought the dial was white
silver plating gives white tone.
Such a neat illusion
Hey I love this Video. Did you ever consider doing a more detailed Fusion 360 video for watch dial making. I, for one, would love to learn more of the Fusion operations
thanks, and yes, I have plan to make video on whole software part of my process.
The watch is so beautiful.
thank you very much!
When can I expect mine in the mail? It's almost Christmas and I've been a very good boy!
Well, probably soon :) Merry Christmas!
great job!!!
Thank you 😊
What software are you using to program the engraver? Can you do a video on how design engraving program to mill a dial?👍
I use Fusion360. yes I'm planing to make video about my design process.
That’s great. I can’t wait to see the video. I also subscribe to your channel.👍
Great videos, just stumbled upon them. The dial holder you use when sanding, is that your own make too, or can be purchased? Thanks
thanks! it is my own made.
How many endmill bits you already broke?)) I mean, during CNC learning curve? It's not so easy like 3D printing, right?
well :) quite some, both machines need practice, but CNC is less forgivable
You never cease to amaze me!!! 😮
Thank you🙏
show the usage of the splitter, design of it, not just showcase what gets fed into it, brother I wanna see your creation being used! This footage is better used in a long form video. I hope you know i mean no offence and my words are meant as constructive criticism <3
Sure. Long video with all the info is in a related video link "created from". Please check this short clip description. Thanks for comment!
@@watchmakeratelier im sure it is <3 (i'm trying to help you make more money) try highlighting the best moments of that video for the shorter edits
Nice
Thanks
Nice
Thanks
Love the work, amazing results
Thanks!
Офигенно!
thank you!
Brilliant work!
Many thanks!
nice work
Thanks
If you heat the torch directly on back side of the dial, you will burn off the indexes and ruin the entire dial face. That's really the wrong way to do it.
You should obviously avoid to heat dial too much for sure if you repair one.
what machine is that do you have the link
here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/JTQxcN_oAow/v-deo.htmlsi=R-DXf8EtMwW7q0HQ
Beautiful work! Annoying music.
thanks a lot! music is actually very difficult part :)
@@watchmakeratelier so true. The problem is the repetition. Use something that flows and is not a short loop. Also try using several different tracks to keep things fresh.
After seeing your exquisite craftsman ship ... I immediately subscribed to your channel ...
thank you so much!!!
OMG .. this is exquisite craftsmanship .... woowwwww... just wow ..... I must ask 2 questions:- How do you make the watchcase (is it self made or do you buy premade?) What movement are you using for this watch ... where do you get it 🥰😃🥰
thanks once more!!! i use premade Seagull movements. there are few options on marker, I use one with thinner Geneva stripes, normally order it from TaoBao but sometime from Aliexpress. Same for Seiko movements.
Oooo kind like that... Thanks.. I was thinking the dial is just customized by manufacture only,, hey in home can be...
thanks!
Just checking, this template (from Thingiverse) is for a 22mm or 23mm strap?
it is for 22mm
Excellent job!!
thanks!!!!
The dial is so beautiful. The small seconds portion is exquisite.
thank you very much!!!
Припой 180 градусов по Цельсию, и можно ножки паять к любому циферблату не опасаясь за покрытие. Привет из СССР! 😊
:)
I was expecting attaching legs to a Real dial like Omega, Rolex etc not a blank….
ya, maybe next time....
Looks awesome, great job!
Thanks!
Thank you for your great skills! Could you please tell what glue do you use for dial holding? Thank you
Thank you! I use "super glue" Loctite 495 or similar
Aku menguki coin half dolar sebagai ganti dial sebagai ganti dial dan itu sangat cantik beda dengan jam lain
ide yang hebat!
whow. this is great!
Thanks!
Hallo salam dari indonesia ,saya juga hobi mengukir lihat Chanel pendek saya
Halo, terima kasih!
Great work. I’m learning a lot by watching your videos. Keep it up!
Awesome work mate. Curious to know how do you do the dial feet / location points for them?
General idea is here: ua-cam.com/video/gDTg27L4Qhs/v-deo.html, but often I use CNC to get location very precise.
Just discovered your channel. Stunning!
Thank you so much!
what is the brand f this cnc? Where did you buy it?
they dont have brand name, I purchase it from China directly from factory, here is a link: item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.0.0.225b2e8dkxsPvj&id=603933576300&_u=f3lpgcof40be
What is the brand of your inc machine. Can you add a link to your description please?
I will add details to unboxing video comment
what cnc machine do you use or recommend ?
no particular brand, it has to be rigid and precise enough to handle such type of work.
Impressive effort and results!
Thank you!
Beautifully done. There are too many "CNC3020" models. Can you give a link to a model similar to yours? And what is your spindle power? Have you tried making guilloche on this CNC?
thanks a lot! this is custom made from China. please check my CNC unboxing video, there is info in comments
Great work 👍😊 please tell me what paint you used
thanks! this is Marabu Glas series
One of the best watch making videos I have watched so far on UA-cam! Great work! Keep it up!
thanks a lot!!!
Please set your music level to the same as your voice level. I set my volume to hear the speach, then get blasted with music. It's annoying.
thanks for comment, will try to make it next time
i think in general you should have more subs, but i think in this one, it was a huge missed upportonety it can look like a 1m usd watch by the end i would not color the inside, at all. or color it with very very very light black then for the text Font i would use a rose gold color, the smaller watch could have had another small circle to it, without the design and the hands obviosly needs to be different and you would get a million usd looking watch. but this is great ! (or another route would be to paint the whole inner circle dial dark grey, and have the design in a tiny bit lighter grey also would have worked)
thank for your honest comment and advice! time of making I did realize - there is infinite ways to finish this dial possibly perfect way, so I have decided this time to make it as simple as possible :)
Looks really good. As a newcomer to this hobby I had difficulty figuring out some details of what you were doing. Your vid is interesting so I will follow your next projects.
Glad it was helpful!
Have you thought about creating dials for people? You should. I suspect that there would be a lot of demand.
Thanks. Yes, probably, I need to get more time for it🤞🙏
