How does this only have 500 views? The amount of time you put in and the detail alone are great. More pond content
Appreciate the kindness and compliments! - Much more continuing to come 😉🎥Maybe as we publish more project docs, more folks like yourself will find us! 😎💙
Great video and excellent content! My 60 yr old 1/2ac pond is basically a silt trap for the 5ac lake at this point. Hopefully it has more years before we need to undergo a project like this!
Thanks, Eric! We’re glad you enjoyed the video and appreciate having you here. It sounds like your pond has done a good job over the years, filtering out silt for your lake. When the time does eventually come, to give it a "fresh start" and extend its life, don't hesitate to reach out ;)
I like it with tree around. But everyone have his preferences.
This isn't about aesthetics as much as it's about limiting muck buildup, preventing leaks, and keeping this man made pond *accessible* . Removing the trees is necessary as excessive amounts commonly cause leaks, and their leafs substantially add to the muck accumulation. For reference, this pond had roughly 8 feet of muck and very little water. Without tree removal, the lack of access alone would make maintenance or even accomplishing this clean-out project nearly impossible. As we hear this comment quite frequently, we wanted to add more detail to clarify further -- thanks for your comment!
T.J. Trible works here!
I'm a big fan! So is Cayden Trible!
My next step, soil sampling !
Im down in Texas, all we have is clay down here. I’m assuming this core trench isn’t needed if the whole dam is made of clay? It just needs to be compacted well and call it good?

Beautiful view with trees close by the water 💦
Looks like a stone 😅
Amazing 👏🏻
Did that pond fill back up?
That's what I'm wondering. I'd like to see an after video showing how the renovation held up.
what was construction time and final cost ?
This is a great channel. I'm planning a half acre pond on my property and videos like this really help my get a sense of what I'm looking for when it comes to making sure the contractor I have do it is knowledgeable. :)
What is that?
Snapping turtle 🐢
Wow 🤩
Looks great. Never been a fan of that style of rock wall due to rodents. But that is my opinion. Looks great though.
Good use of local resources. We don't have access to large limestone over most of North America, so we use other natural methods to create shorelines.
I hope that you went to the core engineers, considering I know Gardner, Kansas rules because you were in watershed for Hillsdale Lake, and any ponds that are built or cleaned out in this area have to go to them first otherwise your be filling that pond right back in
It’s interesting to see your input, but, crucial to ensure accuracy before making such statements. It's important to understand that regulatory processes vary from project to project, and assuming a “one-size-fits-all” approach overlooks the intricacies of each situation. As a reputable contractor, we meticulously address all regulatory regulations, permitting, and legal requirements prior to project commencement. While we value your comment, it seems there may be a misunderstanding about the specific requirements in this area. Have you encountered a situation that led you to believe this and feel inspired to comment? We've completed numerous projects in this area and the surrounding area (this is simply 1 video published of many more to come), some projects without involving the Corps of Engineers, as it's in fact certainly not always necessary or required. We're here to address any valid inquiries you may have, but it's essential to differentiate between informed questions and assumptions. We're committed to delivering exceptional results while upholding the highest standards of compliance and professionalism.

Making people's dreams reality. Awesome so wish I could afford 100 acres with a nice home and a 4 or 5 acre pond with about 40 acres cleared to plant a tree orchard that would have about 20 trees of evermore from different apples, oranges, peaches, cherries all kinds of fruit and nut trees and about 20 acres of closed in farming of everything from livestock and vegetables to be a self sufficient farm. In the USA we e used to have so many farms like that with farmers market goods and live stock that could be raised and so much of that is gone these days and self sufficiency along with healthy grown goods are gone these days because it is to hard of a living for people to want to get in to even though there is money to be made everyone wants easy money but people don't realize our even understand how important that kind of life style is to are communities for truly healthy food and healthy living. The old saying used to be many hands make light work. Today most of the new generation haven't even heard that saying because they believe getting rich doing nothing is more is the best way to be, so the youth don't want to get in to that kind of life and don't care about the importance of it. So that leaves the ones that have always done it getting older and having to buy expensive heavy equipment to do the same things they used to hire people to do to get things done. I hope with the fact that you guys can build these huge water reservoirs for drought seasons not to mention a place for fun with family and friends entertainment from get togethers and fishing. Hopefully more people will get back in all the things I've mentioned because what you guys do make it possible. You guys are awesome keep up the great work and hope you be blessed for the great work you guys are doing.

I install Pond Liners if you ever need some extra hand with that i will be glad to help out.
lol, so what does it look like?
Construction results where shown in the video.. We’re looking forward to revisiting in the future to share footage of it filled 🌊
@@bulletproofponds so at the end of the video, that wasn't the pond post construction that you were standing in front of? Looks like the pond already had some water in it.
@@jamespennington8492 Yes - It was the pond post-construction. You’re right, it does have some water in it 💦 In the future, we anticipate coming back to gather & share some additional footage of it completely filled up 🌊 📸
Project videos on our channel ✅👀
I'll never understand why a video like this only has 953 likes in 4 weeks time, yet letsdig18 will have 100,000 in the same amount of time on a hour long video. Seems kind of odd to me...
Is this core trench, usually this wide on your dams or was necessary due to the length of the dam?
This core trench was this wide mostly because of the equipment that was filling it had to fit inside of the trench. Typically, the width of the core is = to 60% of the dam height.
@@bulletproofponds Certainly understand the trench width being constructed to accommodate the width of equipment. It appeared twice as wide as a dozer or packer. Not to be argumentative, just looking to understand. Your equation of 60% of the dam height is interesting. Nice finished product and a wider key way (Core Trench) must definitely appears as if it is beneficial and have its advantages. Working my way through your video's and thoroughly enjoying myself. Keep up the great work.
@@brucevogel2693 We’ve noticed our footage can at times have the effect of appearing differently on screen, especially concerning depths and widths, depending on the angles of the shot, etc. As an added note, the width here on this keyway, or core trench, was 18 feet wide. Your feedback is helpful and appreciated. We’re glad you’re here 👍 Stay curious 👀
Do you do work in Wichita? How much was this project?
Yes, we do 👍 Check our website bulletproofpondandlake.com for updated info on pricing!
Seemed more like an advertisement for your services more than a video documenting the build. Your choice, I was just hoping for more building. Liked your reply outlining ballpark figures for this build.
Anything specific you’d like to see with our build process? Appreciate the honest feedback 👍
@@bulletproofponds the video appeared to focus on the final project and your entire process is of interest to me. The manner in which you lay down and fill the keyway, build & install of the spillway and overflow pipes, amount of fill used: all subjects of interest. Your work looks great and I'm sure the owners are ecstatic with the end results. All the best
Lookin Good. Congrats!
Thank ya! 🤠👊 🙌
Waiting too see videos off the lakes filled up with water?? That’s what we want 😢😢
We’ll be back to show them 👀 Many of our builds we publish are recent, awaiting more rainfall to naturally fill💧
Good tips!
How long should the liner last
We expect this liner to have a *30-year+* lifespan.

Make sure you don't go below the clay base. if you do it won't hold water.
For the island do you just transfer the clay you’re scraping into the formation/shape of the island and then compact it? Or are there other steps involved??
Yes, precisely.
