Some sound clips from my current exhaust set up (invidia r400 with a catted downpipe). Car is my 2018 STI tuned by JR at IAG Performance making 300HP/303TQ on 93 and 327HP/355TQ on E85 (conservative for now). 370Z Dyno Tune - 319whp with 3 MODS!

Hills Garage dyno tune of a naturally aspirated 370Z with the following mods and the prices paid: - K&N drop in filters ($100) - Motordyne ART Pipes ($500) - AAM Short tail exhaust ($300) Baseline power came in around 290whp. Car left making 318whp. Not bad for three mods!!

Took an L but I was kind of expecting this. Cammed C6 Corvette at 457whp and an impressive 448 foot lbs of TQ. Two 40 rolls. Race 1: Corvette got the hit Race 2: I get a nice hit but let off halfway through 4th & break for traffic. Stay tuned for a re-match after I get a little more seat time & a tune. The car is running VERY conservatively. More power coming when we add timing, rolling antilag...

Quick sound click of the new exhaust set up. Tomei Ti extreme single exit replaced the ARK Grip & recirculating dumps were removed / opened to the atmosphere.

It's for prestige. 2- Its really awkward to compare a modified car against a 12 years old stock Ferrari. 3- Ferrari is a track car, not a drag car. 4- 350Z is an ugly car as fck, how dare you can compare it against a legendary car ? Its just because you dont have that money and a jealousy. 5- None of any attraction would be made from people when you drive 350z anywhere, compared to Ferrari, in terms of sound and the appereance.

why do you have 293 hp when the starting hp of a 370z "base model" is 332hp and the nismo is 350hp?
Whp is different than crank horsepower, WHP is where the true power lies after drivetrain loss is about 10-20%

I’m running a R400 and I just purched the Cobb accessport and a invidia Catted Downpipe, just regular Cobb stage tune that it provides, is it fine to run this set up? 2020 Subaru sti, just w 15k miles. Thank you
Get an e tune or protune, don’t run the Cobb maps on parts that aren’t Cobb for the most part, especially a downpipe

I know it’s subjective, but ok a scale of 1-10 how loud would you rate this set up? I have the same dp and want something quieter than the agency power no muffler edition I have rn. Will the r400 be too quiet you think?
Yeah it’s really though to say. I got rid of my r400 (well I didn’t sell it yet if anyone wants to buy it lol). At first I thought the drone was fairly low but 300 miles later I changed my mind ... to loud for my daily. I know nothing about the agency so maybe you can look up the decibel levels for a comparison. Like you said tho, very subjective. I know plenty of people who would love the r400 volume all day long, but I frequently make 2-3 hour drives which defiantly shaped my decision. Edit: re-read your question and id guess it might hit the sweet spot for you. It’s not a quiet exhaust and sounds fantastic outside the car

Yes. You can shoot flames with any non catted down pipe (just needs to be tuned for it - timing pull and/or running a little rich)
Did you keep the resonator for the r400 I’m torn on weather or not to delete it or keep it as is your sounds great
If you daily the car keep it. I didn’t delete the resonator but it was still too loud for me to travel with so I changed back to something quieter

@@Frank-hn4ih blew yeah. Appeared to be damage to one piston and the heads. Very weird, not the normal ringland failure. Not really sure what went down

@@Frank-hn4ih yeah. Car felt amazing and ran great for the 10k miles it was on that set up. I did beat on it but it was put together and tuned by some of the best in the east coast (IAG). Proper warm ups in cold weather. No engine lugging. Oil changes every 3000 miles with oil analysis done and everything looked great ... till she blew. Hoping for the sake of all other subie owners that this was just some lemon and that most will be fine on a similar set up. That said I’m not happy with the ej platform, obviously; don’t wanna daily something I can’t trust with a few bolt on’s and proper fueling

Natural so to say. They aren’t built into the tune but without the fuel system / tune I’m sure it wouldn’t be happening

Dyno tuned not an OFS. It’s “”stage 2”” in the sense that I just have downpipe / intake / exhaust. Fuel system too but you need that for anything more then a downpipe on the 18’s... guess that might classify it as stage 2+ or stage 3 idk new to subies

I wouldn’t say it’s “a lot” compared to a lot of other exhausts I’ve had on other cars, but there definitely is drone. Hard to answer that question cause it’s all about what you as an individual are cool with tolerating. I’ve put 1000 local miles and it hasn’t bothered me at all personally. Will it be a bit much for my 8 hour round trips to New York? Yes probably. Going to put dynamat all under the carpet / trunk because of that.

How many maps can ecutek have? Is it possible to tune it with flames 🔥?
david chea I believe it is up to 4 customizable maps. Ecutek will do a flames map yes. You don’t even have to make it a map actually. My tuner (the guy in the video) set one up so that if I hit and hold the cruise control when I am stopped it will go active; then I just have to hold the throttle down and bang

Cheaper and better then Lowteks 350z he made 315whp and spent triple the amount you did.
DeathSpectro702 remember that different dyno’s can and do read DRAMATICALLY different. Also the 350/370 hr are very similar but make different power. That said I also probably spent triple that on my 370 and made only 314whp on this same exact dyno lol. I was very impressed with how much power this car made with such minimal mods
GeekJocky I follow him, but yea he's cammed FBO and tune on e85 and he's less than 320 to the wheels is what I assume. I remember him saying his 310. But with just FBO and tune no camm no e85 on the vq37 its alot higher than what lowtek put on his z.
ItAintGaY lowteks z got slower and slower with all his mods and no proper tune he needs to sell his 350 and get a 370 or better. 350 are played out in my opinion
Street Spankerz they aren't played out just very old and worn out. You aren't going to find a mint condition 350z anywhere if you do, you're better off getting a Nismo 370z for what they would sell it to you for.

No bro, having over 300 whp is more than enough. When you turbo a car the engine life dramatically shortens. These bolt on mods u put will actually increase the life of the car, better air flow and decreased exhaust temps will leave the engine happy. Unless your thing is drag racing only then go for a turbo but if you want an awesome daily driver and u want to have it for years and years headache free dont turbo it
Agreed. That 2fast guy is just an internet troll. Blocked him. I’m 100% with you. I’ve had a long time goal of turbo’ing a factory NA car and that’s why I went that route. It’s defiantly cost me a pretty penny and a lot of down time. I’ve already blew out my first stock block. Also found the need for a lot of supporting mods that I did not originally think would be needed. Now that being said these turbo kits have proven to last 60,000+ miles on a stock block with no problems. But these people also may have ran there cars at low boost levels and not pushed it to 12 psi on pump gas like myself. It really depends on your goals. I’ll tell you what. If I really wanted to auto cross a 370z I would probably choose to keep it NA, extract maximum power out of it, do some suspension mods, and completely gut it. It rides fantastic around the track in factory form. Boost makes things like that a lot more difficult and take away that very linear power
I agree to a certain extent. 300whp for a daily is good for not getting in too much trouble and is a bit easier to control since you have a linear powerband. You can still have fun with it. I push 430awhp for a daily and in my opinion, its' perfect for autoX and road racing. I spool almost instantly and when I do I don't fking spin out or launch myself into oblivion. I am at the upper limit though. Anymore power and it's a T4 turbo and 500, 600, 700, etc. Long ass spool time and totally useless for anything but drag racing at the strip. Not my cup of tea. OP, I suggest a supercharger rather than a turbo if you absolutely want that increased power. Just keep your tq low. Those rods aren't meant to be boosted.
I've concluded it's a $20k investment in all honesty to go TT kit / install / tune / built 7 speed. With that in mind, one has to ask themselves: is it better to just leave it n/a OR, go put $20k down on a used GTR and do a simple stage 1 tune on that, and you have all the reliability present. However, there's more fun at a lot less cost simply learning to drive what you have better, than to fall into the trap of consumerism of trying to have the next fastest thing, because that's a game that never ends and is financially unsustainable unless you just have a job/career where you can afford to throw a lot of money into cars, and most would choose a house/family/trips/vacations instead (especially as you get older!). I'm simply happy having a Z among the sea of stupid suv/cuv's/garbage vehicles on the road, it's enough to have fun in while not being another "me too" mobile, but not so expensive that you cannot do other things in life that matter.

I knew a guy at my track days who sold his 600 hp vette for a 400hp one cuz he said it simply wasn’t fun spinning his wheels accelerating while already doing 100mph. Yea. I get that lol 👍🏾
If your tune is good..boosting isnt gonna shorten the life of your engine. I have a 1.9 escort that i turboed and was that way over 20years. The guy i sold it to still drives and races it regularly.

Rez yeah I was presently surprised actually. Was expecting a little more of a fight. My current tune is at 10psi of boost and I’m hitting about 500whp & even though I was able to blow away that Ferrari and 99% of other street cars... now that it’s fast I’m in the company of other highly modified cars who gap the hell out of me. But that being said I still have a lot of room to grow, and it’s still a TON of fun!
@@zsboostedznymd7419 You have a lot more than 500hp. The F430 is lighter than your car and it has 490hp. You must be at least 600hp.
@@kentadams4589 last dynotune before this video the car was at 448.3WHP at hillsgarage in Elkridge Maryland. They have a denotech which typically reads 14% lower than a dynojet - which would put me at around 510whp on the more common dynojet
