The green Chromakey suits make it much easier for the actors and crew. Better than trying to act to a tennis ball on a stick. The same technique was used in "Forrest Gump" to remove Lt. Dan's legs on Gary Sinese (I think they used blue in that case)...

I have a headcanon that one day, after Sterling's been particularly annoying, the team sends a clip from the hotel security cameras of exactly this scene, just to piss him off. It becomes a long-running thing at Interpol that you do not press the elevator button and walk away, if you don't want Sterling to be furious

The beauty of motion capture is it embodies someone's essence and performance in a digital character, giving that character a soulfulness and personality that would otherwise be nonexistent.
