    I had ta55 before. Not really worth it. The beauty of acogs especially paired with rmr is short to mid range. So 3x and 4x is the best like ta02 ta11/0 etc. For 5x, ta55+rmr is pretty much lpvo size and weight without all the long range features like reticle and dial. If trijicon makes a 5x acog with mil reticle and dialing capability, that would be a good alternative to lpvo

    I had an opportunity to handle the limited edition HK MR27 tribute gun at my LGS. It is an amazing weapon, but my favorite part of it is the TA55 on top. I feel that optic allows you rapid engagement like the TA11 but with far better recon ability and precision at 300-600 yards. I would not be comfortable if the other team had a squad member with a TA55 on top. It has replaced the TA31 as the second ACOG I will acquire.

    I really like ACOG's had one in the Marines on my M16a2 i carried in Afghanistan and I have a 4x32mm dual green crosshair on my one 16" full custom 5.56 i built. Cant find clearer prism sight. Only people who knock them are people who dont want to spend the money. I just didnt like the out of date mount it came with that had the big old scoll tightening knobs so i upgraded the mount to a Geiselle Super Duty ACOG mount

    What I really want to know is.. Can you unscrew the 50mm objective lens? does humidity get in there? Can you screw it onto a TA11 MGO? Seems like the MGO housing

    • @jhon5489
      @jhon5489 2 місяці тому

      The objective is an extension threaded onto the body and the whole thing is sealed tight, no issues with moisture at all in the field. The housing is very likely the same as the MGO housing.

    Flawed design, an anchor should be strong and stay fast in any direction in which it may be pulled upon. 🤷🏼‍♂️ this anchor hardware needs further refinement. The idea of turning the bed bolt location in to a dual purpose feature is very handy though. 🫡

  • @nicholaschase980
    @nicholaschase980 3 місяці тому

    John, nice video. Just a couple obersvatoins. With the L-track fitting you need to turn the fitting so its snaps into place. The way you have them now will just pop out under a load. When they snap into place, it doesn't matter what position the OneTrax is in, the load can be at any angle relative to the anchor. Additionally, the bolts are TP50 (Torx Plus) instead of T50. Torx Plus has different dimensions and geometry and is rated for higher torque loads.

      That's one way to do it, however the TLR-1HL is arguably the most prolific light in law enforcement due to it's high performance and low cost. This issue is more the result of duty holster manufacturers trying to build one holster to accommodate both lights.

      This model is factory milled for the ACRO. I would recommend you go with Forward Controls Design for an ACRO plate for your M&P. I've used their plates on Glocks and SIGs and they are very high quality. Another option that is a little cheaper is the OEM Aimpoint plate, which is made by B&T. I've not used a B&T plate, however they are known to be good quality and made out of steel. Those are the only two plates I would consider using.

      I bought this T-55 5.5X ACOG 10 years ago and I love this thing. I also installed the RMR on top that works great, looks great but if you keep both eyes open, you don't need that RMR really, save 500 buck by keeping your eyes peeled like you should anyway. Unless it's a hostage situation, you'll probably have no problem hitting anything you need to at any range out to 600 yards, 800 if I was younger and in perfect conditions. I have it mounted on a SCAR-17 and I can hit anything I can see, same as always but with that Red Chevron and Bindin aiming , I can shoot from 20 yards out to 500 really fast, point and shoot, nothing to think about really, the hold over is easy but 99% of my shooting with this SCAR is at the tip of that Red Chevron and the cans and bottles blast straight up like a .308 Win. will do. I love this ACOG 5.5X and you will too I'm sure of it as long as long as it's on the a good rifle choice and you don't skimp on the mount, I prefer quick release to make switching fast, easy and keep a consistent zero. Good luck, enjoy. BTW, in this video, you sound like you just carried a piano up stares, by yourself. Maybe you should begin to get some regular exercise to keep in good health. Or not, up to you. Take care.

    just picked up mine from my dealer a few days ago, red stock version with the rail, 7.62x39, ordered it through Arms of America since AFA said they couldnt ship it to my home state of jersey, as it was not compliant due to having both a threaded barrel and bayonet lug in addition to the pistol grip, though some folks on reddit say I couldve emailed them to ask em to "unlock" it for me. The thing with the mag is consistent with their stated policy, which says they wont do any sort of pinning or compliance work on the mag nor swapouts as they say there are too many state and local laws to keep track of and they cant be bothered dealing with it, and will simply ship it without a mag in the event the 30 rounders arent legal where you are, conversely, AOA will either pin it themselves for a little extra, remove it upon request, or ship it as is for your dealer to figure out, I chose to remove it as I didnt want the plastic mag, ended up ordering some polish steel surplus mags and had them pin em for me. she is a beauty, wood seems sorta cheap and almost resembles plastic but I think it still looks good and it feels nice enough in the hand, grip interestingly is smooth wood unlike the textured plastic one shown here, dont really care tho since I will be swapping that out for a rubber hogue, and the buttstock also doesnt have the trapdoor for the cleaning kit. The recoil is a bit harsher than I expected, atleast compared to my yugo sks, but then again this shouldnt be that surprising as it's a much lighter gun being a stamped reciever with a shorter barrel, and also that slant break probably doesnt help matters much either, trigger feels pretty nice too. Also kinda found the bolt and carrier tricky to reinsert with the dust cover, kinda prefer my sks in that regard, with that tilting bolt and seperate gas piston (sks is short stroke, ak is long stroke with a rotating bolt) I find are much simpler. already ordered a few upgrades for it such as the enhanced safety lever and mag release, really hoping I can do that myself and wont have to have my dealer install it. I was gonna have my dealer put a nice titanium mini comp from slr rifle works on it but it would seem they sent me one for the wrong caliber, as the threading is too big and would require a sleave of some kind be used with it, unfortunately it seems that by the time the gun arrived at my dealer I was already past the 30 day refund window, and they didnt respond to my email inquiry about it, so probably gonna opt for some other model from some other seller or brand even.

    Fit and finish is amazing on those. I have built several AKs and don't see a huge deal with the bolt carrier peening. The most that will happen is that it gets stuck in the rear trunion. Easy fix. File the peened material. It should stop peening eventually. A hard trigger can break, BTW. Another thing that is not really a thing is the bolt carrier getting stuck on the hammer. Usually more noticeable on a new rifle. We don't have all the fun parts in our guns. The hammer rides a little higher. You can remove some material from forged parts to make it smoother (don't try with case hardened AR parts). Great video, I don't think I have complaints about the rifle at all. The mount is questionable. I think a solid opinion on it will come in time and after putting it through some stress. Thanks

      @@DREKOWICK69 in my opinion, yes the Jack is the better rifle. The barrel and important parts are all Polish military spec parts. The included piston is a cheap US part, but easy enough to change. What the KR103 does have is the option for a side folding stock.

    • @anegg145
      @anegg145 Рік тому

      @@DREKOWICK69Indeed it is a much higher quality AK. KUSA can barely build a functional AK that doesn’t blow up and that’s not a very high bar that is set. Their firing pins snap prematurely, yes they are billet but the trunions were heat treated by a blind alcoholic and end up softer than a baby’s ass cheeks so they end up going through accelerated wear cycles that would make even the top .1% of OnlyFans models jealous, light primer strikes due to the BCG being out spec and they slowly lose headspace due to again the soft ass trunions. I’m pretty sure the weakest Soylent drinking goy could strike primers harder than KUSA AKs. Not to even mention the QC is non-existent on them like a father who went out for milk and cigarettes since they are too busy arguing with people on their Instagram page instead of taking the valid criticism and build the rifle correctly. The price point they charge is wayyyy too high for what you get. There’s so many better options out there on the market that provide better value for your money like the WBP Jack rifles this fine gentlemen has and they recently started importing the Beryl Archer which is the modern Polish AK their army uses for $1500 which you can get on Arms of America or Atlantic Firearms. Once your FFL receives it just need to do the typical 4473 and background check.
