As a recovering alcoholic I totally relate to the ending of this and the feelings going on. After all the hard work you put in and something special blows up in your face it’s hard to think of a reason not to self sabotage and lose yourself in your personal demons.
you know, before she had a daughter,.princess caroline was pretty ruthless
You talked about whether people who have jumped actually regret it in their last seconds. I've heard of at least one case of someone who survived jumping off a bridge who said that the moment they started falling, they realized that all of the problems in their life were fixable - except for having just jumped. I also think it's quite symbolic that Beatrice was dragged down by Crackerjack's death. Arguably the whole family was.
The funny thing is, Beatrice did tell Bojack she saw him, she just did it in her own way and he didn't understand what he was saying. I only noticed this when watching your reaction to Brand New Couch, when she phones him on the set of Secretariat and ruins his day. She tells him she read his book, that his feeling of being broken inside is part of who he is, because he inherited it from her and his father. This is her way of saying she sees him, that she can't save him but that they're all drowning together. It's the acknowledgement he always wanted. But to him it just comes across as more cruelty.
I've never tried good honeydew myself, but I've been told that it's really good if it's fresh and ripe, and the problem is that like 95% of the time it is not.
"Is his IQ 0?" I just realized we can estimate his IQ. He has the same IQ as a monk who stopped learning at age 7, who was presumably average at that point. IQ can be calculated as the ratio of mental age to chronological age x 100, using 18 as the chronological age for anyone over 18. So Jason's IQ is presumably (7/18)x100, or about 39. For reference, Forest Gump's IQ is 75, so about twice as smart as Jason.
Is it just me or are they kind of glitchy
I am proud Ajith sir fan
Wonder if the show is based on Charlie sheen

Interesting y'all mention getting covid. I found and watched this series over the past week when I got covid for the first time. Really glad my boyfriend has been able to help me through it and not having got covid himself.
The portrayl of her depression is so relatable. I used be pretty debilitatingly depressed and when I first saw this episode it really felt like the the most accurate portrayal of depression in media. Really don't know if it's been done better. You can't think, all your thoughts are very negative. You get moments of clarity like the visualization of Ivy Tran in her head but it largely feels like that messy, unorganized art style that you can't make sense of. The mental duress is only amplified by not being able to access in a coherent way.
I will say that Diane really did do a bwd thing here. Not because it's an act of vitriol towards Bojack but because it is in stark disregard for Penny's trauma. This is a popular show and she might see this and be retraumatized. Not saying this story can't be told in a show, but making Bojack be the actor to do it is inappropriate.
Such a tough episode
That comment at the beginning made me remember the way the intro changes over time. A really great feature of the show.
😮😮😮
BoJack’s journey: One step forward, two steps back.
When it comes to the start of a show; I think people have different expectations.. Sure you can't expect to be emotionally enthralling from the get-go; Which is why I Think that the pure "reaction" based viewing isn't really good to shows and that if there WOULD be one way that is correct it is to accept that the START is specifically a start. Then the start can actually BE somewhat.. Riveting (I think the idiom is).. The thing is.. You are watching the "set-up".. You has to be introduced to the premisses in a way that sound plausible.. also the characters has to be presented in a way that is "easy listening".. Perhaps in itself not engaging, but seriously if you instead think of it as you getting the introduction to the trope then you may get excited about what CAN happen.. And if you look at the concept of "Afterlife".. Where.. Someone happened to end up at the wrong place and want to hide it, and the chaos that may ensue.. If you look at it from the perspective of an introduction that IS kind of an exciting thing. You won't know if they were good enough to MAKE it exciting but the potential was always there... It's kind of like how people talk about Christmas.. The presents under the tree "as they are" are just boxes with slightly funny colourful paper.. but the POTENTIAL.. makes it exciting.. and sometimes the expectation of finding out is where the excitement lies, and when all answers are all in it's not really exciting but you will enjoy the present. (this is even more true about "Thrillers" where they primarily try to use most of the film to build suspense).. Not saying this to complain, but.. because I think some people may get more positive things out of life if they can appreciate how approaches and perception changes things.. (and yes; I am QUITE a lot like Chidi; As in way too verbose, trying to be too detailed, taking too long to get to the point and in the end often contradicting myself as well. but when you get through the boring part you MAY actually have been enriched by it; Example: Everything within this parenthesis)
Thala my god

They absolutely didn't ask or tell him to buy them liquor. He took away the Red Bull and vodka the other girl was drinking then told Penny to pull over at the store so he could buy them bourbon. Pete's memory of the event certainly isn't very charitable toward Bojack, but you gotta remember they were just kids, and it was a traumatic event.
They didn't know she was pregnant until Ralph said it at the very end, that was the whole point.
If you think about it, Rutabaga actually made an effort to fix his relationship with his wife and improve himself, something Bojack fails to do repeatedly while actively hurting everyone around him. He and Rebecca Gekko aren't doing anything different from Princess Caroline operates in trying to get their client a job. If anything, we see that Princess Caroline screwed over her previous assistant then tried to lie about it to get something out of her. Basically, Rutabaga and Gekko are actually morally superior to our usual protagonists, and the only reason we've seen it as otherwise so far is because of the narrative framing this whole time telling us they're antagonists. Sure Rutabaga cheated on his wife in the past, and Rebecca Gekko was kinda catty I guess? But we've seen both Bojack and Princess Caroline do much worse time and time again, yet we're more willing to forgive them because we spend more time with them and the story frames them as the protagonists. This episode does a brilliant job of challenging that by flipping the framing and making us question how we perceive things. I think this can even be applied to real life. We tend to contextualize our lives and experiences like a sort of story where we place ourselves and perhaps those we're closest to as the main characters, and we're much more likely to be forgiving or understanding of ourselves and the people who we know the most about or spend the most time with, even when that doesn't necessarily reflect reality. I think a major theme of the series at large is challenging and deconstructing these sorts of narratives that we tell ourselves about our lives to try and contextualize our existences. But life isn't a story, it's just life.
They way will cracks bojacks voice at "...all i had was you," hurts so much. For real
And somehow he didn't even get NOMINATED for best voice acting for the Emmys, a totally necessary awards show.
@@Steelburgh it brings me comfort to hear the VA now doing reeses commercials on YT. Makes me feel like Bojack made it in the end. Show was the perfect thing to help me as a new parent

Hollyhock isnt wrong. I do fell like Bojacks deeds are blown out of proportion it wasnt „as bad“ as the media made it seem. but its the right decision for hollyhock
My interpretation of the Dr. Champ thing was it was purposely portrayed as not BoJack’s fault. Dr. Champ drank that whole bottle willingly, while BoJack spit it out at first sip. Anyone would know that wasn’t water. It was an example of how an addict will blame everyone and everything but himself and how BoJack saw the mirror of himself having done this in the throes of his addiction. Notice he didn’t take responsibility for Dr. Champ’s relapse at all; it sounded ridiculous to him because it was. And as a result he realized how ridiculous he himself had been

I have been binge watching all of your bojack reactions. I am not one to comment, especially not under every video, but I just want you to know that you've made my week, and that your blind reactions to a show I've watched over and over and probably overanalysed give me joy
Huh? Weird, Ive known the word penultimate since grade 6..
What happened to this reaction? Why did it just stop?
It seems they had a newborn.
As a victim of sexual assault, I was very hyper sexual afterwards. It’s a coping mechanism that some peoples brains use to try to protect us, I feel like this show did a great job in showing that and I love that they didn’t try to make it seem like it’s her fault or she enjoyed it.
anyone else ever wonder if at the beginning when BoJack realized he forgot Todd in Malibu what that awkward conversation was like? not just between BoJack and Todd but what if Herb woke up to BoJack's headlights and what sarcastic comment would he have to say for proving himself yet again to be a shitty friend.
Easter egg for those who didn't notice: during the doll burning scene with Beatrice's father, his ears turn into a devil horn shape. guess what that symbolizes. also any background writing like the hollywoo sign turning into hollywood, or when Beatrice chases after butterscotch outside of the debutante ball the grand hotel sign changes to "grnad hetol." and yes I did just re-watch that scene to be sure I was accurate.
