B-17 is my FAVORITE plane-- love to see this-- (hated the crash--- that's heartbreaking and it's not even MINE!! ).. i can't afford to do this hobby-- wish I could. Where I lived in Torrance, cA-- every year they had the airshow at the local airport and one of these made SEVERAL trips coming in over our building and then circling around to the airport-- and got to get up on top of the building and watch it CLOSE UP-- I could read the small pint on it underneath-- LOVED IT.. IF I were a multi-billionaire like MUSK or those guys--- I'd order 10 of them BRAND NEW built from the original plans-and donate them to the air show groups that travel around doing this- so more could see the real thing..
Oh yuck....Electric....!!
Hey there, Good Morning Vietnam:), So that is horrible to see the plain douwn. Sorry for you, i hope u can repair it?. I See the video is now 11 jears old ok.. but i have to say something if its ok for you? First of all, I would like to mention that flight safety is the top priority. It doesn't matter if the plane only has a wingspan of 1 meter or 20. Here are a few tips. Your over and low flights are quite nice, but please never again >> you fly as a captain and stand directly on the runway?!? Behind you are safety baskets?!? And then fly past you at a distance of only 1 to 2 meters? You are aware that even this nice "smaller B17" can cause massive damage to you or your friends?! Even if you fly with technical safety precautions very daring! I fly all my planes with safety precautions and previous flight cheks! And these all have a wingspan of 2 to 3.5 meters and weigh up to 6 kilos. One of them is a high-end carbon glider that reaches top speeds of up to 200 / 300 kmh. Even my Styrobomber The Funcub XL is only 1.7 meters but weighs a whopping 3.8 kilos and reaches a speed of up to 120 km/h. The kinetic energy generated by a 2 kilo plane at only 30 km/h is not funny. Something that contributes to your safety would also be something like an additional receiver battery, a battery switch, or an electronic flight data transmitter such as the Unisens E with almost all adaptable transmission and reception protocols of the respective transmitter manufacturer. Otherwise I wish you lots of fun, enough wind under your wings and of course enough sun :) Greetings from Germany
Deep respect for the pilot of the B17, who eventually (if I saw it correctly) only had 1 of the 4 engines running...I say as an old model pilot in the 70s and 80s (I'm 73 now) in the Netherlands.
Not a fan of electric fan warbirds
I didn't see any crash .Another fake video

So realistic!
Dudes… this insane… in a great way!!!
RC formation… incredible skill! Great video perspective
Bagpipes get me every time!
Tru talent with a bad situation
This SeaWind and two of its sisters, were painted by Florida's Chris Cruz (visit Chris Cruz Artistry.com or his Facebook site) to see his work. All three are now owned by members of the Greensboro, NC Model Yacht Club.
Wow ! Awesome save/piloting on the B17!!
I guess YOU liked the music.
Coming in on a wing and a prayer
EXCELLENT piloting skill. I thought she was going in.
You never turn in to a dead engine as it will spin on you, well done though...
Some serious airmanship!!
Well, at least it wasn't all shot up by ME-109s or FW-190s !!
Master class in flying!!
Very well done. I'm sincere in my admiration for the pilot saving the aircraft.
Never turn into a dead stick engine 😉
Belt gunner: Captain! Number 4 engine has taken some flak and is in flames! We need to come in! Radio antenna is destroyed. We are losing fuel! Burning fuel is entering the plane! Capt… Tail Gunner: We're on fire! Captain: We're going down! We are coming in hard! When I touch down, abandon ship! Brace! Brace! Brace!
👏👍❤️
Wow what a save
Master, my Master....
You never turn into the bad engine even with a real airplane. He did an excellent job correcting the right wing stall. When he made the turn to the left it was a piece of cake.
Not true. Some single engine procedures out of some airports required you to turn into bad engine. If you carry the proper speed and enough counter rudder, it’s not a problem.
Whats sad is the actual B17 this plane is modeled after (909), crashed due to an engine failure the same month this video was posted, just 6 years later.
Not only the same plane (B-17 "909") but the same engine failure, no.4. The FAA report came out a few days ago and crucified The Collins Foundation for lack of maintenance on the plane.
@@settledown444 Oh wow, I didn't catch that! Thats eerie. I wish the actual 909 had the same outcome...😢
Never ever stop flying it, I was told when I was learning to keep flying the plane even after it hit the ground, this lesson has saved several planes
One of those dreaded three engine landings.
What a mess .. . 😯
Lucky duck you never turn into a dead engine! That's gospel in real life flying.
Gospel based on limited skill and experience-keep your speed up and it’s not the killer that it’s reputed to be.
@@tomwatson3580 Right... he didn’t have that speed, therefore turning opposite the dead engine would’ve been a good thing.
Great flying! Very nice!!!🇺🇸
NEVER TURN INTO THE DEAD ENGINE! Guess he needs to rethink that amount of fuel he has on board.
I though I was about to see a VMC roll....
Only true if you let your speed fall below Vmc
@@tomwatson3580 But.....given the choice of turning port or starboard- why would you not choose the safer option?
Sadly the plane this model is based on also crashed
HO YES .... WHOUAAAA GOOD PILOTE
Good recovery but never turn into the bad engine.
Not a big deal with 4 engines-or even two engines if you keep up your speed. Too many old wives’ tales that just won’t go away.
Spot on. A classic example of what happens when NEVER DO THIS is either not known or not obeyed. Very nearly resulted in disaster.
@@tomwatson3580 Exactly! doesn't matter about which way you turn all that matters is maintaining airspeed and having some directional control, a flying buddy of mine quite often performed stunts on one engine and he would do barrel rolls toward the dead engine,he flew inverted on one engine without any problem, the guy flying this b17 stayed cool, gained some airspeed and control and thats what saved his aeroplane.
Why electric?
Just got mine waiting on new batteries and the maiden flight cant wait
A good save there! Always try to keep the dead engine high, to reduce the risk of loss of Yaw control.
What's up with the freaky laughter?
Great Flying and a perfect save, well done.
Fire extinguishers have uses.
I hope the pilot survived...
moral is...always have a fire extinguisher at the field
Lol,it looks all so haunting
Look close you can see the AA fire hit the fuel tank and the pilot came in hot after declaring emergency. The ground crew didn't do their job,but the pilot will live to see another day!
Ailerons while taxi the airplane, LOLz!
Lol
Very surprising to see how slow they were to react.
