I have Ableton Live, which is great, but I have never got the tight MIDI timing that I used to get with my old Roland R8, which is still a great machine (it came out in 1989, but was very advanced, in fact it's sequencer is at least as good as anything made today). I made a couple of house-ish tracks in Ableton, it was okay but I couldn't get it sounding tight. I remade the track in my Korg Electribe 2 Sampler, yes! I've got that tight sounding rhythm like I used to get with my R-8! It's really a night and day difference! By the way, I've got s background in IT, so I've turned everything off in Windows such as the system sounds, and removed everything that isn't needed for music production- I made this PC myself with really good components for music production only. But even with all this power, the timing is off, very frustrating!

Thank goodness for the brave souls who put up these videos...I'm chuffed with my VS, just as I was with my Modal Craft, but why oh why don't manufacturers make clear instructions for players to follow, and as someone else has said, legable (SIZE), so far I've spent more time finding out about how to use it than I have actual creating...but to be fair it packs a punch, and it will be part of a live setup...thanks for a concise overview...

Do all of them have that awful hiss and scratch? Ive got 3 different pss models and they all have varying degrees of poor output quality

Although I knew the traditional MIDI genitals most synths have was strangely and straitjacket-deservingly omitted from this…bless Behringer’s hearts…I bought it hoping to assuage my grief over my Roland JP-8000’s succumbing to AIDS recently. Yeah, no. I think I may shell out for that Korg app, so maybe I’ll “experience” this synth a little deeper, but I don’t think I’d better hold my breath waiting for Mr. Spock to happen, or anything.

I have the Behringer Pro VS mini. Am thinking that is the same one from the video.. i saw a video that said Pro VS Soul. Is that the same one? Am trying to update the firmware but the App only shows ver 1.1.1. How do I get version 1.1.5? Or at least 1.1.2 loaded?

So for those like me that are asking: Where is the firmware update FILE on the website? Behringer has hidden the file in their servers by forcing you to download and use a WINDOWS or MACOS version of the SYNTHTRIBE software that will "fetch" the firmware for you through the specialized program and update the synth for you. ALOT of manufacturers are doing that now forcing you to either use WINDOWS or MACOS to update your gear. If you are using an IPAD, a LINUX or UNIX based computer or device like a raspberry pi, or some such, you are now SOL.. Windows 10 or MAC OS latest or bust. I just got my unit today and noticed I can not place a firmware file in the synth in a file browser on my Linux machine and press a combination of buttons on my synth while powering on to "enter" firmware update mode.. Some synths still allow the end user to do that, but most like Behringer and Arturia and Korg do not.. So if you want to back up your old firmware or have a back up file, you will need to know where the app is downloading the file temporarily during the update download process, but even then.. how will YOU apply it, without the specialized app? Otherwise, great synths!

No way to connect the 4000 through any keyboard. The MPC will work and I’m going to try midi usb host box for one more try .

I see videos like this and before I even watch it, Bluetooth solves everything the simplest connect in this case is a usb c adapter to Bluetooth like the Roland or Widi Bluetooth in usb with c to A adapter. I even Bluetooth the audio with a separate adaplter that cost less than $6 and kills the chords completely! I totally understand why you did this video, and I thank you, I just wanted to point out there is an easier way, not cheaper! For sure, but worth the money!

I’ve got a usb splitter connected to my jt4k- then the inputs are 1) a battery pack / 2) an alesis 25. Alesis powers on but won’t send midi signal. I do get an audio signal out when using the JT built in key strip .. Any ideas ?

For $350.00 USD you could have a Pro VS Mini, one of these and an Aira of your choice. Geeze, that is amazing if you ask me since I'm used to paying 1K or more per synth. They sound quite as good but slap on some reverb and delay maybe a chorus and they'll get you passable.
