Hi there! A while back I purchased the Sarah Kirsten Fennel Fanny Pack pattern, and although I loved the final look, I wanted something more practical for my hobbies. This pack is made from a durable 600D waterproof fabric and holds just under 2.5L of everything you could possibly need for a casual day hike or a skate around the neighborhood. The interior seams are binded with grosgrain and a triangular carabiner keeps your keys secure.
More detailed information about the fabric, materials, and pattern dimensions can be found here: stitchbackstories.com/blogs/journal/making-a-custom-fanny-pack

Skating Through Washington, DC - Cherry Blossom Season
Переглядів 2192 роки тому
I started riding inline skates recently, and although I'm not very good, I've gotten more comfortable riding on new terrain. This is my 3rd year living in DC, but my first time going to see the Cherry Blossoms. 🌸 I'm not a fan of large crowds or long lines, but there was something much more freeing about experiencing the beautiful trees on skates. Welcome back! I've been getting a ton of questions on UA-cam and Instagram about digitizing, so I figured I'd make a few videos showing step-by-step how I would digitize different images. In this video, I use Embrilliance StitchArtist Level 2, but you can create the same results using whatever digitizing software you have. stitchbackstories.com/ stitchbackstories

I Made An Insulated Puffy Vest | DIY
Thank you for this Video, its like a Ray of hope for me and my friends. We want to get some custom patches made with Insignias of our regiments and armored corps which we served. Do you do job works incase we want to get few designs made by you. The Patch factories are not willing to do less than 25 pcs since we have around 7 designs therefore we think that quantities will be too much to be consumed. If you can then please let me know your email id.
I know I'm years late, but in level one, you can cheat the satin column tool by digitizing a satin column. When you close the shape, it will let you add inclination points.
Haha yes, you can! That's how I show the satin column in my digitize a patch series
Love it thank you for sharing the techniques, also the vest looks great
Amazing. Great in depth steps.
This was so perfect because I know and understand Mimikyu, so it was easy to follow along and recognize which parts were yet to be designed. All the kudos to you!! Thanks so much for sharing!
Great job! What kind of machine are you using to make "patches"?
How long does it take to make a patch from start to finish?
So helpful :0 I love the idea of cutting out templates!!!
It is so cool that they're based on your own designs! I love that!
Definitely not beginner friendly._.
Best video
Hello Michelle!!! Congrats in this video. I have a question, how long does it take with your Brother sewing machine to embroider a patch?
This was awesome! Ty so much! ❤
great video
I would love to see a series on key tags
ohh is there a specific key tag you are thinking of?
This is just awesome and SUPER helpful !! Thank you for putting this out ! Will you be putting out anymore videos ?!
wow michelle this is crazy! thank you!!
Do you do 3d embroidery with stitch artist 2?
What is the iron on backing brand? Where do you get it?
Is there another fabric that’s good to use as well? Like would denim or cotton linen work?
yes! You might need to experiment with what works. Denim is good, cotton linen might be too light. You can also add some heat and bond stabilizer to make the fabric stronger
how do you add the placement stitch to an already digitized design so we can run the first step like you did?
you could use a digitizing software to add it manually!
Your money back: the process of cash refunds
This is amazing , do you do lessons at all? Or have a course?
I don't have a course, but I have a playlist that goes more step-by-step on all the stitches I use to digitize!
@@stitchbackstories ok cool , do you do lessons at all?
Great video! So when the green leaf is getting stitched after the background some parts of the edge of the leaf will overlap the background by a little and that’s ok right?
yup, that's okay! I prefer the overlap to avoid any gaps. Just be mindful for which color gets stitched on top
Thank you!
New to embroidery. How do you create the design? Looks like to imported an image, where did you create that image to import?
I am ♿ AF and desperately looking for a new hobby. If I was to be making a patch could I start and stop multiple times on a single project without ruining a sewing machine?
In my experience with my brother se700, if you stop in the middle and turn off the machine, it will usually ask to resume upon turning on again. But if not, if you stop between two colors it’s super easy to pick up where you’ve left off 👍 all you have to do is keep the design in the hoop and don’t move it around so everything will still be aligned when you restart Hope that helped at all! Let me know if I can clarify
Also disabled, yes you can on the more recent machines, I use a se1900 and it will ask to resume where I left off if I turn off in the middle of a project. Even if it didn't for some reason as long as the item is still in the hoop I can just select the design again and set it to where I want it to start stitching from.
I'm using a 10 year old pe500 and I can stop and start without ruining it. It might slightly become misaligned but not majorly.
i really enjoy your patch videos,, you could do a digitizing montage and it could be really cool ❤❤
I love your informative channel but I noticed that you don’t post anymore are you on a different platform.? Or are you maybe just busy? Anyway thank you so much I hope you do post some more I want to start making patches to try to make some income at home because I recently got injured being a nurse and I wanted to try to make some extra income. And I love to so so I thought I would do something that I love that would also help me financially.
thank you! I've just been busy haha. I have a bunch of tutorial ideas I haven't gotten to. I'll try to film soon!
What brand model of machine did you use?
Thank you!!!❤💯
Hi, do you habe a recommendation in regards to a digitalizing programm, or better what Software do you use to create Patches
Can you make these into iron ONS?
ua-cam.com/channels/06_9ZJ5lf1_A0bdgElbkrA.html
Thanks for the easy-to-follow explanation guide! Are there any device models you might recommend for a newbie? I take it you've been happy with the Brother brand?
Is there reason we can't just embroider right on the backing? do we need the twill if it is fully embroidered?
I some how missed what was clicked to make the background before adding the cutout pieces. Can you explain? thanks!!
Just discovered your channel and love it. Clear, thorough and beginner friendly. One question, if you are on a mac, what is the shortcut for the eyeball when back and forth between the image and the columns or does that happen as you go?
hi, thank you! I'm not sure if I'm thinking about the same thing, but I believe it's automatic. I hold the spacebar while clicking my mouse and dragging to pan around the image
That looks so fun & easy! Thank you for a great video 💕
hi dear can you share what program that you are using for making embroidery program and is't paid program or open source, thank you
inkscape! it's a vector program similar to adobe illsutrator and they have a digitizing extension
OMG tysm!!❤❤ I can finally make my Al-qassam and Wagner patches UwU✨💖
i want to do it too ;-;
Thanks I love the video
I love watching your videos! Have you considered making a digitized version of this pocket, so that instead of using a sewing machine to sew it on, you can do it directly on your embroidery machine with a second hooping? I love adding pockets with my machine, however all of the files I find have satin stitch boarders. And although it's cute, it just doesn't look as good as a traditional pocket. I would totally buy the file from you if you'd be willing to make it!
Thank you for such a fantastic, thorough tutorial.
Do you take orders? 😅 i want a few patches and the places I’ve checked wants orders of 100 out more
Using the machine to make your cutting template ahead of time is genius! ✨
What is the machine called that you are using and how much did it cost
Hey Stitchback, don't know how likely it is for you to see this but I'm struggling to find answers elsewhere - I'm using the exact same water soluble stabilizer that you have linked, vilene, and I'm using identical hoops to yours - But I really struggle to get it tensioned in the hoop at all? It feels very delicate, and tears easily when I try to tension it, no matter how gentle I am. This is even vilene straight from the shop, used immediately in case my storage was an issue. I also found that it really struggled to hold up under designs that had more than 2 layers, or much density at all (like a background fill stitch) Do you have any advice on tensioning such a delicate material? Or does it sound like something is going wrong to make it delicate? Grateful for any advice 🙏
the material shouldn't be delicate and I've never had it tear. I wonder if you got sent the wrong material? It should feel like a fabric
Hi! What is the max dimensions for a patch on your machine? How large of a patch can you make? Excellent videos 🎉
hi! I don't like making designs bigger than 4"x4" typically, but my biggest hoop size is 6"x10"
Thank you so so much!! I agree with the many viewers that this was quite enlightening. I appreciate you sharing the techniques, they were extremely helpful.
Thank you so much! 🙏
