How did this go under Will Smith's lawyers' radar?
I love how Toby said "or even swirl" & pointed to himself 😂. Great song & message from an amazingly influential group of young Christians at the time...and the message still rings true!
I look back at this. My christian parents didn't want to me listening to this cause it was "too wordly". But compared to ACTUAL rap, this was F&cking tame. Christian music was nothing but a delayed mirror of the pagan earthly music that we were told/taught/indocrinate to be "better than"........but we were imitating a sinful world....but supposedly making it holy by being initiating with different words????? I look back: We were gaslighted and indoctrinated. We were celebrating the world we were supposedly supposed to be apart from and took part in idol worship like all the others of our age with posters on our walls and repeatedly listening to their music and buying their mech. Christian music was a golden calf.........or maybe, it was just music cause there is no god that we were told there is.
Where did you find this
Where did you get this
if kid rock had a conscience
Toby always been awesome
2024 and walls are still up and we are still having to explain why segregation is bad…. Who knew this song and the song What Have We Become would be so relevant 25-30 years after they were released?
I agree. This came up cause I used to listen to DC Talk when they came out....I was a chrsitain then. I'm now in recovery and wonder.......how did the faith stray so far from this????

I still can’t believe this is an actual song that someone made
I saw this video in 1993 at a Christian youth gathering in FWC Abuja, Nigeria
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥FIRE!!
The best part of this is almost all the wars are caused by RELIGION 😂😂😂😂😂
Such an ignorant comment.
💪👍💯
I still have this on VHS. This song still makes a statement as of today even more so. But the thing that always creeps me out the most about this video is the blood coming out of the KKK robe while burning in the fire. Not that I’m a fan of the KKK. It’s just that blood creeps me out. But DC TALK was one of my favorite groups growing up. Saw them LIVE at a Billy Graham crusade.
Very underrated group
Man against man just ain't the plan It's time for God's people to take a stand I mean brother to brother, black to white Stand up to the problem and begin to fight Not against each other, you're wastin' time Yo, I'm referring to a battle of minds Not through debate or writin' on the walls This kinda action is delayin' the cause An eye for an eye, fight fire with fire It's our turn to take it one step higher Gotta live by example, show brotherly love We're together on Earth, we'll be together above So we're () Tearin' down the walls Of segregation Unity abroad New revelation Tearin' down the walls Of segregation Unity abroad In every nation To label churches by color ain't nothin' but wrong We're in the same crew, we're singin' one song If you're in God's army, that makes you my kin Yo, our common bond is the Father of men Of all attributes that we should possess Love is in the Word ahead of all the rest No negotiation to love a certain nation All means all, with no discrimination Boy, we can set a precedence the world can cop Yo, fellow believer, now's the time to stop Racism within our lines Today is the time for this love to shine So we're Judge a man by His heart, not color of skin God views a man from what's held within And, you're called one of His, so you gotta know To be Christ-like is the way that you go And my brothers and sisters in one accord Yo, we're the sheep, and the Shepherd's the Lord So whether black sheep, white sheep, or even swirl God watches over all the sheep of the world So tell me whassup when ya know the command The Word's bold, "Love your fellow man!" And treat Him like you would treat yourself Pull brotherly love off ya dusty shelf
DC Talk was basically making their case to the evangelical community with this album, and it was brilliant marketing to the evangelical boomers who were skeptical. They made rap "safe."
Yep. Got this as a kid because my mom wouldn't let me get Digital Underground's Sex Packets. At least my grandma stepped up to help and got Whitesnake too.
I love feel good tunes like this.
I feel so blessed to have grown up listening to music like this that encouraged Christians to do better. To LOVE better. We still have work to do, church.
PLEASE CHURCH!!! DO MORE FASTER!!! AND FAST! Be the Jesus you all say you are!
It’s sad how Christians went from tearing down walls to …build the wall!!!!
RIght!!??? I grew up on this and I cry when watching this now.... There are more walls than every before.....just built in leagilist terms.
Oh god, I’m old.
Holy cringe… so bad I’m speechless 😶

Sorry guys, but "rap music" is an oxymoron. It's rhythm and rhyme.....not "music" in the pure sense of the word. But it does fit Biblically as in "Making a joyful "NOISE" I suppose...... (Heavy on the word NOISE).
I used to listen to this before basketball games in high school so many good memories!
This is such an OG track - a hard message spoken in righteous anger with love - this is where Tobymac just kills it
i committed suicide listening to this!
Still a great song with an important message.
Just won fortnite listening to this song

Rap music for life lol.
Christian music is supposed to be about God. What does this song have to do with God?
Hey Mike. I'm glad you asked. PLEASE READ THIS!!! (It will answer your question): Believe it or not, Christian music in the 90s (like this vid) had a bit more of a clearer representation of God and the Christian life than some of today's CCM music videos, and Audio Adrenaline is not really an exception. I'll answer your question in a bit, but first, let me say this: I only watched this video ONCE and the spiritual message became instantly clear to me. That's definitely the power of God (and also because He placed me in a family who surrounded themselves on the Word and on the things of God more than the world). But anyway, I digress. To help you out, here is the spiritual message of the song & music video: 1. MEANING OF THE SONG: The song itself addresses to the youth that they don't necessarily need to go to another country in a far away land in the middle of nowhere to witness for Jesus (even though of course, that is definitely a good thing). But they can also be witnesses right where they are, in their own public schools, because there are people in their immediate area who need the Gospel as well. The reason why the song is called "A.K.A. Public School" is to emphasize the point that our schools are, in reality, mission fields in which we must bear the Light of Jesus Christ to the masses, while at the same time, battling against the powers of darkness at work...and all that disguised under the name "Public School". 2. MEANING OF THE VIDEO - BASKETBALL GAME: The basketball game scene has Audio Adrenaline playing as the home team for the school. Now, there is another HD version of this music video on UA-cam where it opens with a team member praying in the beginning. For some strange reason, it's not in here, but anyway. Oh, and in case you hadn't noticed, the team is named the Salt County Sheep. Notice the biblical references in the name? "SALT" as in salt of the earth and "SHEEP" as in the flock of the Good Shepherd (aka Christians). Now, the opposing team, as you may notice, is called the "Red devils". I don't think I need to clarify who they represent. And of course, after a long and intense game, the Sheep team wins, representing the fact that when it is all said and done, Jesus is the Victorious One! 3. MEANING OF THE VIDEO - FLASHBACK SCENES: In the flashback scenes, we see each of the Sheep team members reaching out to help their fellow students and peers, going against the apathetic pattern of the school system to be a light and make a difference. They do this to provide examples of how students watching this video can make a difference for Jesus Christ in their own schools, even by doing the simple things, because those things can and will make a large impact. And as a fun little bonus, we also get to learn each of the band members' names, heights, and what "position they play" (code term for what they do in the band). BONUS: THE THREE GUYS AT THE DOOR Beginning at 3:03, three guys enter the door of the gym. That's just a cameo appearance by another well-known Christian group at that time, known as DC Talk. Today, each of these guys have their own separate careers, and two of them are still going strong. The one on the left of the screen is TobyMac, the one in the middle with the afro is Michael Tait (current lead singer of Newsboys), and the one on the right is Kevin Max (who would eventually take over as leader of Audio Adrenaline for a short time period). I know, that was EXTREMELY LONG, but you asked lol :) I hope and pray this gives you a more clearer understanding about this music video. And hey, the next time you come across a Christian music video with a "hidden" message and need some clarification, check out the song's lyrics, and see if you can point out the common factor between the video and the words. If that doesn't work, you can always pray and ask the Lord to give you discernment over the matter. Believe me, that works too. God bless you! Have a wonderful day :)
😂😂😂wow, just learned about this today😬 and thts TobyMac okay, 💃
My mom bought me this album when I was 9 because she wanted me to be a good person. Thanks mom
