Here’s the thing, we get some inspiration from somewhere. We don’t have to actually copy our idols, but get inspired by them. They licks came from somewhere, from some patterns, we can create our own patterns, for sure, I think everyone should do that. But understanding where those ideas are coming from is important. Clapton’s version is in E, which is what he’s playing. Cale’s version is in F, so to say he’s playing the Cale version would be incorrect.
