Приєднався 7 січ 2020
My name is Joe Cassada. I've been preaching for over 25 years. Over time, I've learned many things from great men that have helped me learn how to preach sermons. I would like to share that wisdom with you, and in so doing, perhaps I can help you preach better too.

Spurgeon on Preaching Earnestly
Charles Spurgeon considered earnestness one of the most essential elements of effective preaching. In this video, I look at what Spurgeon means by "earnestness" in his book titled "Lectures to My Students."

Why Preachers Should Be Bold - Spurgeon's Hills to Die On - Part 2
Переглядів 5853 роки тому
This chapter in Spurgeon's "Lectures to My Students" is titled "The Need for Decision for Truth." It is about why preachers need to make up their minds about what is true, and then to stick to it; how preachers need to stop giving in to the spirit of the age and forsaking doctrines that the Bible declares as true, and instead should be bold in their declarations of truth. Spurgeon lived in an a...

This is part 2 of a 2 part series. Spurgeon discusses the necessity of the Holy Spirit in the chapter titled “The Holy Spirit in Connection with Our Ministry” in his classic book, Lectures to My Students. In this chapter Spurgeon approaches the subject along the lines of two questions, “In what way do we need the help of the Holy Spirit?” and “How can we lose this help of the Spirit of God?” Ha...

Spurgeon's Philosophy of Reading - Quality Over Quantity

This episode is about the chapter titled “To Workers with Slender Apparatus” - which is a very strange chapter title. The Preacher's "Noble Power" - How to Preach from Minimal Outlines Like Spurgeon
Переглядів 1,8 тис.3 роки тому
Have you ever seen one of Spurgeon’s sermon outlines? They are very minimal - almost bare-bones. Have you ever read one of Spurgeon’s sermons? They are as full of meat as an egg. How can a man take such a skeletal outline and turn it into such weighty sermons? The answer to the question is the faculty of impromptu speech. And by this, Spurgeon means “speaking without special preparation, withou...

Blessed by your ministry, brother May God grant you more grace
Bro Joe Cassada thank you so much for all the CH Spurgeon videos. God bless you more. Always all for His glory!
Thank you so much for the series of videos you have done on CH Spurgeon's pastoral ministry book. I am learning a lot. May God bless you more!
Would love to see a video of your library and the bibles study tools that you use!
Judging from your absence, it looks like you may have given up on this course of action. I hope not. Please pray on it. You are worth listening to.
I have found Spurgeon to be a respite from today's bombastic, never wrong, self congratulatory preacher. He somehow hit harder but soothed deeper. With Spurgeon I see a man of God compared to most others I see as men of [worldly] men. Thank you for your refreshing faithfulness in this.
Are you related to Charles spageion
You look like Charles spageion
One verse in the scriptures is spoken by Jesus in Luke 21:19. "In your patience possess ye your Souls." AMEN. Was Jesus subjected to Depression ? AMEN.
Hello Mr. Cassada, Is there a way that I can direct message you? Thanks! In Christ, Davis
You are doing a great job, keep on making these videos. I wish youd do some about the book preaching for preachers by Martyn L. J.
What does the first quote even mean?
I believe I was born to preach. Many years ago I got saved and started serving in my local church as a youth pastor. My pastor would sometimes allow me to preach from the pulpit. I enjoyed studying the word, teaching the word, and attending Bible studies. But I let the Devil in and he took down a path that I never intended to go. I feel lost and ashamed and so disconnected from my Lord. It's been 20 years and I think of all that time I wasted. 😢
"Return to me", says the Lord. Come back into His loving arms, confess your sins and be forgiven. And give yourself freely and wholly to God. Lay your life down, witholding nothing, and He will surely wash and cleanse and use you.
Did you just automatically became a full-time youth pastor with no schooling because you felt like it, wow, sounds like you had it pretty easy. Sorry to hear about the road you ended up on. I'm 40 Chuck, I make six figures in the plumbing and hvac industry and have wanted to become a preacher since I got saved in 2015. I hate my day to day job, I know it's not what I should be doing. And To this very day I haven't found a pastor to help get on a track towards doing it. I've done street preaching and other things on my own, but ultimately, every so called person in ministry and seminaries I've spoken too, are a bunch of discouraging blow hards keeping things close to the vest. It's a good ole boys club these days. Good luck to you, God Bless
@@jtplumbing6592 Are you free to join the Winds Conference this year in Palm Bay, Florida? Oktober 23 - 26. It's a free conference hosted by Eastwind Pentecostal Church.
I have begun preaching in public here in Denmark but every single church is against me. No support in any way. Church is the greatest single hindrance for revival.
every church should be outdoors and loud!! respect
Glory to Jesus! Yes every church should be very loud in the public sphere, but they hinder the Gospel. Did you know that the word church - kyriake - is no where in the Greek text?
Amen. That is good
12:50 - Oh, thank you! I am not, of course, a preacher, but after being a flower farmer for 2 years, I've gone back to website designing, and I have been feeling more and more lethargic and blue. From so much energy and cheer, to these solemn and lonely days ... I need to get out in the sunshine and sweat again.
What is the book collection just under your left shoulder! They're so pretty! I'm looking for reading-quality books that look good on the shelf!
They're the books under the square clock. I would love to know!
They are books of Surgeon's Sermons. Either at the Metropolitan Tabernacle or New Park Street or both. There are a lot more than you see there. You can obtain them from the Metropolitan Tabernacle Bookshop in London.
I absolutely disagree. Nothing I could say or do could possibly “get someone saved”. The job of the preacher is to lead that person to the only one that can save. Are you kidding me?
I love the reminder He cannot and will not fail you. Prayer and trust is so important. Great video 🙏
This is so true. BTW why have you stopped making new videos??
thank you for encouraging
Thank you for the suggestions. I thought it was peculiar that you mentioned a Mother’s Day sermon focus on not-measuring-up. As a man and Christian for 30 years, I grew tired and irritated with the difference between Fathers and Mother’s Day messages. The Mother’s Day message was always positive and glowing about how special and perfect moms were, and the Father’s Day message was -Never so. I always left the church feeling discouraged and beet up on Father’s Day. I will be speaking tomorrow and take your advise to heart.

I am not a preacher but I am obliged to talk something l have no clue about.
Thank you sir 🙏🏿
He never said anything about what the scriptures says about your calling, he only says what Spurgeon says, but what about what God says. God calls the foolish( unlearned) to confound the wise. If you are called of God, it doesn’t matter what mans, God’s word overshadows all others.
@alperkins8303, clearly you do not understand the context of 1 Corinthians 1-27-32x because it is not talking about being called to preach. In fact, there is no verse of scripture that says “called to preach. However, the Bible says to preach the Word & it is through preaching the word that the Holy Spirit will draw souls to Christ Jesus. And if you want ll trad 1 Timothy 3 & Titus 1, you can see what Gods qualifications are to be a preacher.
Lectures to my Students is wonderful! God bless you dear brother. Ray Comfort
Thank you so much for the encouragement brother 🙏🏿🦅
I got out and did some street preaching for the very first time a few weeks ago and it honestly felt great. God has been telling me that I need to get out and do more and there is a severe lack of outdoors evangelism where I live. Most people were polite, but awkwardly tried to get away, one man was fairly angry, one woman was receptive, but seemed a bit confused and had some "unique" ideas about God based on past religious experiences. One lady though was VERY interested and even though her husband and small child wanted to get away, she really wanted to stick around and hear the gospel. I thought that if in 2 hours, even if she was the only one that we were able to reach, how great and incredible that is, and I thank God so much for that.
Thank you sir
Thank you:)
As ambassadors for Christ we would like to share the gospel of our salvation in the dispensation of God's grace. “Grace can be defined as the undeserved favor of God for people who deserve His condemnation.” God does not hold sins against us because they have already been paid for (every sin for every person.) Christ was made to be everyone's-every-sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). However, full reconciliation is not achieved until an individual "reconciles himself" to God (2 Corinthians 5:20). This happens upon belief of the gospel of our salvation. All humanity is forgiven but not all believe it. Being forgiven does not equal being saved, salvation comes by faith. Salvation is appropriated by faith, forgiveness of sins is NOT. Your sins were forgiven regardless of your belief. God did not need your faith at Calvary, He only needed His Son. SALVATION is only gained by trusting Christ - via belief in the word of truth (the gospel of our salvation.) Salvation IS by works, just not our own. It is not of ourselves, but through the gift of God's grace that we are saved. Upon HEARING the gospel, if we BELIEVE the gospel, we are sealed with the holy Spirit of promise unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 1:13-14). A lost soul can only be saved by trusting Christ to have done everything necessary for our salvation though His finished cross-work. Romans thru Philemon are the only books in the bible that explain salvation for today. In those books we find salvation is by faith alone, in Christ alone, without-any-works-of-any-kind-at-anytime. Christ died for your sins, and has risen for your justification (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) Put your faith in what He did rather than what you have done, are doing, or are going to do. Salvation is not getting-your-sins-forgiven, it's believing they already are. (2 Corinthians 5:19) And as ambassadors for Christ, we would also like to refer you to Truth Time Radio, also on UA-cam and Facebook, they are happy to help you better understand your Bible and better express your faith to others. Have a blessed day with insight, wisdom and discernment!
That is very very good advice

As someone who goes to London often, this world is becoming more lost. So many scroogesbut lots of seeds sown. London is the best and worst place to preach. So many falsehoods, idols and hedklers.
Please pray for my 43 year old son. I am worried about him. And his kids Grace and Micah. And my 3 nephews and their family. And ME thank you.
I go out by myself, it's not about me but rather about sharing the gospel with the strangers I encounter. Plus I'm not hindered by having to organize others to go with me.
It’s safer to have a buddy system in case you get knocked out from behind
Pls listen again brother to 11:30 on much more being effective if you take along with you a handful of people when doing street preaching. God bless you more in your ministry. Soli Deo Gloria!
Thank you for your work.
Excellent video sir, i really enjoyed it.
Very inspiring thank you for sharing very great job narrating the video to
I'm one of those guys who easily gets tongue-tied. I can barely string together coherent sentences. But, I believe we are called to share the Gospel. I bought a new Bible today. I plan to start in Genesis and highlight blocks of scripture and string together a Gospel sermon just from reading the Bible out loud. I don't plan to debate, but I will have a couple of Bibles to give away and a handful of tracts. My wife and I are going to walk the area where I will read the Word and pray first, and then I will go back and read. Pray for us, my dear Brothers.
I'm encouraged by this! How are you doing in this?
This is exactly how I plan to preach
Moses was slow of speech.......
