Some more reasons someone may not be able to leave a toxic relationship is the lack of funds and means to do so. Even the ones that /can/ drive can't just pack up and leave because the abuser is making sure there's barely enough gas in the tank for getting groceries or going to appointments, the vehicle is broke down just enough it won't make the drive to another city, or the abuser just. . . makes sure there's only one working vehicle and they use it to go to their job. It all kinda ties into the other things you mentioned as well.

My current partner helped me heal from the toxic relationship I was in. Even helped me get a new number because my ex was harassing me all day everyday. He said he wouldn't leave me alone until a) I stopped lying which I wasn't or b) I no longer existed

I am sorry that I haven’t been around. I wish you the best through this very difficult time. I have a friend that officially just got diagnosed with pots with some issues with her ex. I am going to tell her about this channel. My husband is tapering down his psych meds. So that has involved some difficult days. Sharing your story helps me and others know we aren’t alone in our struggles. I need to make some time to hang out on Discord again. I miss you and everyone else.

You are an beautiful and positive women and i now that having illness or other things that makes people handicapped isn’t always happy and fun but if you learn to accepted it than your life will be so more beautifull Mine grandchildren accepted my and mine handicap so easy and we always search for things that we can do and we have always a lot of fun

It’s a mindset. It’s being deliberate everyday knowing that you want to be happy and not let other people dictate your energy and emotions.

I'm so glad that you were finally able to get the answers you knew all along. All the hugs. I kind of had the opposite problem growing up. My dad knew from pre-k that I had some kind of Learning Disablity. Because I was young, no one told me anything. I didn't start figuring it out till I got constantly bullied by the other kids. But I never felt disabled, I went out of my way to jump through multiple hoops or road blocks that were set up because my dad and the school board said I "couldn't do X because of Y" so I ended up being stubborn and going out of my way to do those things. Which included getting out of special education into all regular classes, and I even got into an Honors english and would later go to publish my own book. I know for sure, I'm def not the smartest person out there, but I know I'm not stupid and that was such a huge relief for me. Thank you April for sharing your story with us. <3

One of the biggest issue we live with but I am on a high pain medication but I love my pain medication doctor so it’s cool!!! I have been sick for almost 11 years so I can under I only have pain in my back. And nerve damage with me being in so bad shape it’s actually better cause I would definitely be red flagged. I hate nerve pain medication. But I take nerve pain medication and chronic pain medication and medication marijuaina. I have 5 kids the adivice I can give u is not to be negative or tell them you don’t want to try anything cause that will make them think you just want certain things or addicted. But you can tell them this is what has happened and you are whiling to do this and bring your records and show you have done these things and what has happened and these are the reasons why you don’t want to do it and your not being a negative patient you just know what works and want the correct help. I don’t take certain medication because they make me sick or feel weak zombie like so they don’t give it. I see one person and if the medication doesn’t work anymore he gives me something else cause our body become use to it. Might need a higher dose or a different medication all together. I have tried almost all the narcotics there is not any mentally health medication but pain killers yes And they can’t go higher the 200 cause the FDA will red flag them and they can lose there license that’s why they like to send us to pain management so they can deal with chronically ill people that require pain medication on a chronic basis.
