Den Of Thieves 2: Pantera
"Den of Thieves 2: Pantera" is the sequel to the 2018 heist film "Den of Thieves," released in theaters on January 10, 2025. Directed by Christian Gudegast, the film features Gerard Butler reprising his role as Sheriff "Big Nick" O'Brien and O'Shea Jackson Jr. returning as master thief Donnie Wilson.
The narrative picks up immediately after the events of the first film, with Big Nick tracking Donnie, who has fled to Europe. Donnie becomes entangled in the perilous world of diamond thieves and the notorious Panther mafia, as they orchestrate a massive heist targeting the world's largest diamond exchange.
Critics have offered mixed reviews. Paul Harris commented that the sequel "isn't much better than the original," noting that it "suffers from a cast of Europeans of various nationalities whose heavy accents make it difficult to understand the dialogue."
As of now, "Den of Thieves 2: Pantera" is exclusively available in theaters and is not streaming on platforms like Netflix or Amazon Prime. It is expected to become available on Starz around May 2025, following the release pattern of previous Lionsgate films.

I stopped at the title of the video.
Chi Town is in the house. How are you doing today and how your day? Just here to check out your review since you saw it. I like the first one but this one. I almost went to sleep twice and to me it was flat out boring. I dont mind either character like Gerard and O Shea but Jesus man it had a few action scenes in over 2 hour movie.
@@TennisReaperCinema-vp7bw I'm good sir, how you feeling? It held my attention but it definitely could've used some more action in the film.
@@TheSeezMonroeShow Well, it snowed here so just relaxing since I have the day off. As far as the action part, the first movie had a bit more although it started slow too but it ended well. This one was a slow burn for me.
@TennisReaperCinema-vp7bw The overall premise was just better.
@@TheSeezMonroeShow Well, I guess I will check out Wolf Man next week. January usually don't have much movies to offer. Night Swim was the beginning of last year and that was pretty trash.
@TennisReaperCinema-vp7bw Don't remind me. We need a random marvel film to drop in January to change the trajectory.

Sonic is an amazing movie and Shadow Wick did his thing. The Fire Inside was pretty good. Love an underdog story. Bad Boys 4 to me was the movie that started the blockbuster in the summer 2024. It took half of the year to show some good movies.

@@TheSeezMonroeShow Never seen Dune 2. Actually I havent seen either of the Dune movies. Godzilla X Kong movie was alright. I am more of a Godzilla fan and they did not have him doing too much. The movie could have get rid of the 4 characters of the movie and still would been the same.
@TennisReaperCinema-vp7bw That's typically what those films are. Just nonsense on the big screen. You need that from time to time. The Dune films aren't great, but they keep you engaged. I wouldn't go out of your way to watch it.

i agree
but I see where you’re coming from, and I appreciate your perspective. The Superman trailer does a great job of portraying him as a figure of hope and strength, which is central to his character. The color grading, designed to make him stand out, is a clever idea, and it’s clear you resonate with that visual choice. However, for me, it felt a bit overdone, making the overall look feel more artificial than inspiring. As for including lesser-known characters, I completely agree that it’s important to bring them into the spotlight to make them more familiar to audiences. Marvel’s early success with characters like Iron Man worked because they were given depth and compelling arcs, which allowed them to connect with viewers on a deeper level. If a film introduces lesser-known characters without meaningful development, they risk being forgettable instead of leaving a lasting impression.
Continuing that thought, the challenge lies in how these lesser-known characters are integrated into the story. A film like a Superman project already carries massive expectations, so these characters need to serve a meaningful purpose in the narrative. Marvel succeeded with characters like Iron Man not just because they were less familiar, but because the stories crafted around them were compelling, fresh, and emotionally resonant. For a character like Absorbing Man to truly stand out in a Superman movie, he would need to have clear motivations, a solid backstory, and a meaningful role in the plot. Without those elements, there’s a risk of them feeling like background noise rather than significant additions. In big superhero films, every character should contribute something memorable to the story; otherwise, they might not achieve the impact they’re intended to have.
When lesser-known characters are introduced effectively, they can elevate the story by bringing new perspectives or challenges for the hero to face. In Superman’s case, characters like Absorbing Man could introduce moral dilemmas or unique threats that push Superman’s limits, both physically and philosophically. However, if these characters are underdeveloped or their arcs are rushed, they risk being overshadowed by the main narrative. Marvel avoided this by grounding their lesser-known characters in relatable struggles-Tony Stark’s flaws, for example, made him human despite his larger-than-life persona. For Superman, a similar approach would mean ensuring the story allows him to interact with and react to these characters in meaningful ways. Audiences can then connect with them, not just as plot devices but as individuals who add richness to the world. When done well, this approach doesn’t just expand the universe-it enhances the core story, making Superman’s journey feel more layered and impactful. That’s where the opportunity lies for lesser-known characters in major films: not just to exist but to contribute something essential to the hero’s narrative.

It’s an interesting comparison to make, and I can understand why you might feel that way about the upcoming Mufasa: The Lion King. A prequel like Mufasa inherently carries a tough challenge: it has to build on the legacy of one of the most beloved animated films of all time while also standing on its own. For many fans, the original Lion King is near-perfect, and revisiting that world through a prequel may feel unnecessary or uninspired if it doesn't offer a compelling new perspective or story. If the narrative feels predictable or fails to add meaningful depth to Mufasa’s character, it could come across as "filler," diminishing its emotional impact. The live-action/CGI style doesn’t help either. While the visuals in these Disney remakes are technically impressive, many viewers criticize them for lacking the emotional expressiveness and charm of the original animation. This issue could make Mufasa: The Lion King feel cold or disengaging, which is a major problem for a story meant to explore themes of leadership, sacrifice, and destiny. Without those emotional highs and lows, audiences might walk away feeling that the film is unnecessary or, worse, boring. The stakes for a prequel like this aren’t as high as they were in the original, where Simba's journey was about reclaiming his throne and avenging his father. If Mufasa doesn’t bring that same level of intensity or emotional weight, it risks being forgettable. On the other hand, a movie like Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has a completely different kind of appeal. Sonic movies don’t carry the same burden of nostalgia that Mufasa does, even though they lean into fan service for longtime fans of the franchise. Instead, they focus on high-energy action, humor, and a sense of fun that’s inherently engaging. Sonic 3 has the advantage of being part of an established trilogy, where audiences are already invested in the characters and their dynamics. Bringing in Shadow the Hedgehog, a fan-favorite character, adds an extra layer of excitement and anticipation for fans of the games. That kind of hype, combined with Sonic’s fast-paced storytelling and lighthearted tone, gives it an edge in terms of broader entertainment value. While Mufasa may aim to evoke deeper themes and emotional resonance, it also risks feeling too self-serious or weighed down by the expectations of living up to its predecessor. Meanwhile, Sonic 3 knows exactly what it is: a fun, action-packed adventure that appeals to both longtime fans and casual viewers. It doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel; it just needs to deliver on the high-energy, family-friendly entertainment that made the first two movies successful. In that sense, Sonic 3 might indeed come out as the more engaging and enjoyable movie for a wider audience, even if it doesn’t aim to achieve the same level of emotional storytelling as Mufasa. Ultimately, it comes down to what people are looking for in a movie-depth and nostalgia or pure, unfiltered fun. It’s an interesting comparison to make, and I can understand why you might feel that way about the upcoming Mufasa: The Lion King. nah superman trailer is good
@@hades9900 In a trailer for a CW show type of way? Maybe. Other than that, get ready for another bomb at the box office.
@@TheSeezMonroeShow ah the way you said that the superman tralier is bad makes me want to hit the jamacain thugshaker it is a good trailer ok, and how is it too much? it is so perfect it shows superman as a figure of strength and hope the color grading is supposed to repersent that thats why its like that to make superman stick out among the crowd and also less known charecters should be in big projects like absorbing man to make them more familiar with audinces because normal viewers wont be able to know these lesser know characters the reason that marvel was such a hit was because there was no other movies at the time like iron man and thats why it was so populer so idk i dont see where you are coming from.
I understand where you’re coming from, and comparing the trailer to a CW show promo touches on a real issue. The CW is known for producing superhero content that’s often fun and engaging but operates on a smaller scale with limited budgets, overdramatic tones, and familiar tropes. If the Superman trailer evokes that same vibe, it risks being perceived as low-stakes or overly polished in a way that feels more like TV than a cinematic blockbuster. That’s a significant problem when audiences are expecting something grand, inspiring, and worthy of Superman’s status as a cultural icon. A Superman film isn’t just another superhero movie-it’s supposed to represent the pinnacle of hope, heroism, and spectacle. If the trailer doesn’t communicate that scale and weight, it could fail to generate the excitement necessary to drive box office success. The problem lies in the current state of the superhero genre. With so many films and shows being churned out, audiences have become more discerning. They’re not just looking for another CGI-laden action fest; they want stories with heart, characters they can invest in, and visuals that don’t feel like they belong in a high-end TV production. Marvel’s dominance in the early days of the genre worked because it offered something new and exciting. Now, with the market oversaturated and superhero fatigue setting in, films like Superman must do more to justify their existence. Simply showing Superman as a beacon of hope and strength isn’t enough anymore; audiences need to see how this story sets itself apart from what they’ve already seen countless times. If the trailer fails to deliver on that front, it could alienate both casual viewers and diehard fans. Casual audiences might see it as another generic superhero flick, while longtime fans of Superman might feel let down if the tone and execution don’t live up to the character’s legacy. A comparison to a CW show, whether fair or not, suggests the trailer lacks the polish and depth expected from a major theatrical release. When people are already skeptical about whether Superman can resonate with modern audiences, a lackluster trailer only reinforces doubts about the character’s relevance in today’s cinematic landscape. For the film to succeed, it needs to show why this Superman story matters now. What’s unique about this version of the character? What emotional beats will the audience connect with? And most importantly, how does it elevate Superman beyond just being an iconic figure to someone audiences care about deeply? If the trailer can’t answer those questions, it might indeed set the stage for another underwhelming box office performance. That said, trailers don’t always tell the full story, so there’s still hope that the final film will deliver something memorable and worthy of the Man of Steel’s legacy. @TheSeezMonroeShow

@hades9900 I agree and I'm hoping for the best for this film but with this being released in July, Matt Reeves removing Batman 2 from October 2025 all the way to 2027 let's me know that he's Trying to stir clear of this upcoming shipwreck. James Gunn did an okay job with Suicide Squad but this isn't Suicide Squad. You can't give us the wacky colors for Superman and expect us not to think it's a joke. Man Of Steel missed a lot of marks. The tone of the film was not one of them. This reminds me of the Tobey McGuire's first Spider-Man film.
What about infinity Ultron
I feel that, that was different. Yes he was OP but they story was incredible. This last two episodes which yesterday's episode was a continuation into this one. It wasn't good. The writing seemed lazy and there's no back story for any of these characters that would justify them being able to harness this type of power. Correct me if I'm wrong.
This movie made me mad in every since of the word. So you hired a bunch of black folks to do a job to please one race of people. If you don't do your job, you get fired or be afraid of them. Did not like this movie one bit.
Mufasa movie is trash and boring and Sonic 3 is a better movie
@@LarryHayward-v7p Sonic 3 is a better film. What did you not like about Mufasa?
@ Bad Story and Boring and I hate Live action Remakes from Disney
@LarryHayward-v7p Wait, so you knew this was a Mufasa back story when you went to see it. Knew it was a live action Lion King film ( technically not a remake) and you were surprised how?

This is the movie that started the blockbuster of Summer 2024 and I enjoyed it a lot. Hardly any good movie earlier in the year with the exception of Late Night With the Devil. People were bashing Will Smith about not going to see this movie due to the Slap Gate with Chris Rock. I know it a debate whether he deserved the slap or not. Well for some people it as debate, but not me. But it was a really good movie.
@@TennisReaperCinema-vp7bw I was really good. Bad Boys 2 will always be my number 1. Rate your top Bad Boys films

How are you doing today? I like to say happy holidays to you and your family. This year been an interesting year for movie this year. Although I found your channel this year, you have an amazing content with your movie review. Some movies you like and others you did not care about too which is why I come here to hear your review because you are on point. Hope 2025 bring more things to you and continue to do great things on your channel.
@@TennisReaperCinema-vp7bw I'm good sir, how about yourself? I appreciate the kind words, I really love Cinema and I love to talk about it so it's a lot easier for me than it is for a lot of other channels. So I figured if this is going to be something that I discuss with my friends for hours, why not record it and put it out. @@TheSeezMonroeShow yes sir. Are you going to see anymore movies for 2024 or you done.

@@TheSeezMonroeShow Meh. I see too many horror movies this year. Most of them pretty bad. If I do see that movie, I wont do a review on it. What did you think of the movie?
@TennisReaperCinema-vp7bw It wasn't bad. I'm intrigued by the lore so that'll probably make or break a lot of individuals from wanting to see it.
How are you doing today and how was your weekend? I did not see the movie and I heard it was better than the 2019 version. But I am just here to hear your review about this movie to get confirmation how the movie goes based on your perspective. As far as superman. Look decent I guess. Look like it going to be a 3 hour movie.
@@TennisReaperCinema-vp7bw I don't think WB will allow that. That was the issue behind Batman V Superman
@@TheSeezMonroeShow did you see the extended version of the Justice League. It was like 6 hours or some crap like that.
@TennisReaperCinema-vp7bw Absolutely, I couldn't have spent 4hrs of my life in a better way. If they could've condensed the film to 3hrs, cut out some BS. I believe it would've been highly regarded. I would put it over infinity war.
