Ended up playing a Chaotic Neutral Full Demon for roleplaying purposes, and this scene was heartbreaking within that context. My PC losing the one he loves most by acquiring the power he believes is necessary to protect her. First time I've cried playing a video game, but made for a really great tragic story.

I like how aruarus VA has a slur/manic breathiness to her voice during some lines. It really adds to how she is fighting against her latent desires and sometimes sounds like she is struggling to even speak fully

If I am doing a Demon run I just straight up skip Aru as a companion, let her go of and do her own thing without having to deal with my KC's madness.

This moment was so good for my character. I set my PC up as a neutral evil, “by any means necessary” type of person. My character told himself he was fine becoming a demon if it meant defeating the demons. He romanced and helped Arueshalae because he desperately needed someone there for HIM.

I'll keep this power and i'll gain more besides. After I close the worldwound, my roar will shake the Abyss to its foundations!

Immediately after is even better than this--if you've taken Nocticula's profane gift and you pick Legend, the DC of the will save is significantly lowered. For me it was only 20 when everywhere else I've looked it was 30+. I've seen some people say it was upwards of 40 for them, which would've been impossible for my character to hit. It's quite possible she saved my miserable demon ass. "For a moment, you feel someone's weightless hands resting on your shoulders.
