Beautiful gazza 2 rammies! Not baaaaaaaaaad
Always nice to dig up the rammies. They're a lovely coin.Cheers mate.
Lovely spot. New machine makes the old sites new again! Love returning to the old spots seeing what I missed and the Manti can pick up. Well done on the finds! Some nice silver 😊❤
Hi Camille.Lot's of my old spots have come to life again thanks to the Manticore. Cheers and Happy Hunting.
When the Silver's outnumber the coppers it's a good days Detecting. A nice package of coins and rammed 🐑 in at each end. Cheers Gary!
Hi Wayne.Did well on the silvers there, and that continue in part 2.Stay tuned.Cheers mate.
Great results, Gary, happy returns to past productive locations. One of ours has the feature of being an early car park, quite literally, a park where picnics were had for car clubs in the mid twenties, a hundred years ago, this road of enquiry might also give you ideas to look where people needed to carry larger denominations of currency! A Rolls Royce rally at a now-disused racecourse would be ideal! Cheers and best of luck, Gabi of Narre Warren.
Hi Gabi. This area is near to a local tourist attraction and I reckon it may have possibly been the old parking area.Only guessing though.Cheers.
When are you going to head back to the old sports ground where you hit the sov? Great video again mate
G'day Guy.Last time I tried at that old sports ground I came home with almost nothing .Spent many hours there over the years so I think I might have done it to death. Two Sovs and many other great finds from there,so I was lucky to get that permission.Cheers mate.
Heya Gaz,. Did well on the silvers indeed mate! What are your thoughts on the M9 coil, am interested thinking about getting one for Christmas. Cheers Slim
G'day Slim.M9 is a great coil for more trashy areas and all general detecting with light weight so you can go all day without fatigue. I've left mine on for a long time now and if you watch the UK detecting vids, you'll see it's very popular up there too.I'd highly recommend it,so get your order into Santa now.Cheers mate.
Always a good day when ya get 1 let alone 2 rams heads 👍 nice day out
Always love finding the rams head shillings. Two today was a real bonus.Cheers mate.
A new machine really makes an old spot new again. Well done Gazza those 🐏 cleaned up a treat 👌
Hi Darren. The Manticore has a habit of making my old spots new again.Silvers cleaned up nice.Cheers mate.
The coins cleaned up really well, move those sticks next time.
Yes mate,There could possibly be more coins under the sticks and one day when I return,I'll move them and see. From that soil the silvers cleaned up nice.Cheers.
Well done Gary, always good re visit those places that produced, have a great day mate 👍
Hi Jim. The Manticore soon finds anything I'd missed earlier.Cheers mate.
@ hi Gary, I recently tried the manticore and to be completely honest I wasn’t impressed, it’s not reliable enough to identity what you’re actually looking for, It’s very jumpy on targets in my experience with it, meaning I found myself digging way too much trash to treasure ratio, But I only used it on two three hour sessions.
I would be heading back there again
Hi Stephen.That's exactly what I did.See results in part 2 coming soon.Cheers.
Silvers are good! New visitor. thank you for sharing💕
Thanks for watching.Always love finding the silvers.
That wasn’t a bad hunt Gary. You wrinkled out 3 silvers. Thats a good day in anyone’s language. The M9 is a great coil. Used the M11 for the first couple of days then changed it for the M9 for the rest. Take care mate 😁👍
Hi Andrew.I'm enjoying the M9 coil the more I use it.The lighter weight is great for us older folk. Those silvers were from an unexpected area and I'm always pleased to bring home some silver.Cheers mate.
Actually I would name 1 and 2 cent pieces as grumble beginning, Now, be honest Gary, did you really jump that fence, Hmm! Glad to see some Silver's turn up. I'd be too curious about what might be inside the locket to leave it unopened, though I wouldn't want to break it either. Thanks Gary, Cheers Mate!
Hi Wayne.Actually I climbed through that fence, but "jumped"sounds more dramatic. Happy with the silvers and where the locket was damaged, there was only dirt coming out of the gap,so I presume nothing of interest in there. Thanks for watching.Cheers.
boom let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
Cheers and thanks for watching.
Heya Gazza, love those wild silvers mate! Cheers Slim
Always nice to come home with some silver Slim.
Onya Gazza still a few gems hiding in there, amazing what we can miss on the first few go's.
Surprising what can come up when going over old ground.Just coming from a different direction can make a difference.Cheers mate.
mAgnificent hunt gazza
Thanks mate.Turned out better than expected.
Nice hunt mate that manticore is working well for you 👍
Thanks mate. The more I use the M9 coil, the more I like it on the Manticore. Cheers.
Silver’s look awesome cleaned up Gary, The 1939 half penny is a decent find too mate they don’t come up often.
Hi Jim.Silvers from that soil always seem to clean up well. The last year of Comm Pennies is 1936,but for some reason the Comm.Half Pennies went up to 1939.Cheers mate.
Nothing wrong with that hunt Gazza. Good score mate 👍
Thanks Paul.Always a good hunt when you can bring home some silver.Cheers mate.
On familiar grounds still reveals some spots missed. The new coil also makes a difference, deeper targets, although iffy and often iron, does bring results, you'd hone in on a spot thought all rubbish, but removing the junk and the detector reveals the better signal IDs. Good showing Gary.
Hi Gabi. The soil there is a lot more moist now than earlier hunts and the M9 coil is awesome. Always amazed at what can be missed first time round ,and another hunt in more productive spots usually reaps rewards.Cheers.
Nice set of silvers Gazza
Thanks Guy.The Manticore loves silver.Cheers.
Great to take away the rubbish, 2cents is good, I like them. The 2 cent coin was introduced 14th Feb 1966, ❤Valentine’s Day coin❤and the 1cent is special too. Nice sixpence 😀& halfpenny. Well done you. 1925 thrip I don’t have yet. Screw caps are very special, loads of history there. Silvers galore yay😀clocks, forks, iron, truck, harmonic reed so awesome. Great vid, happy days to you, Brun
Thanks Brun and glad you enjoyed. Not many detectorists say they like 1 & 2 cent coins and screw caps. But that's part of the enjoyment of detecting -they all give a great signal that just has to be dug. Cheers and take care.
Silvers are good any day.
Hi Paul.Always happy to find those small silvers.Cheers.
Thanks for the video 😊
Thanks mate.Cheers.
Nice location! Low and slow should find more items!
Thanks mate.Cheers
G’day Gary, bit of a slow day but we all have those, I’ve found a few of those animal head rings too, both at Showground so I think they were prize rings 😄👍🏼
Hi.This was a slow day.You might be right about the rings.Probably the third one I've found in that area. Cheers.
Was a tough day Gary but that is sometimes how it goes. Still was a good day out. My favorite would be the tap handle. Don’t find many of them but they are always cool. Good luck next time out. Take care mate 😁👍
Hi Andrew.Turned out to be one of my most unproductive hunts for a long time.I nearly wasn't going to bother uploading it,but after a while I changed my mind - shows the reality of detecting...sometimes.Those tap handles give a great signal- first one I've found for a while. Cheers mate.
Love the cocky crest hairdo Gazza. A few nice finds mate
Guy,I always have a bad hair day.Thanks for watching.Cheers.
Its unfair bragging about your hair Gary, the bloke writing this comment has a large enough landing strip for a squadron of flys!.. Was that a hotspot on the property that you pegged or just a random area. Just curiuos! Myself, I wouldn't categories the 2 cent pieces as " Best of the day" finds, They dont put a big grin on my face like the predecs do. Even if they are the only coins i find! Liked the ring, kids toy or not, wouldn't mind fining one myself. And if theres pennys in the ground, your in a good area! Cheers Mate, Keep digging!
Hi Wayne. What little hair I have on top always get blown around in the wind to give me a bad hair day every day. You're lucky not to have that problem! That whole area has a scattering of trash, with the odd good find thrown in,so I just picked a random area.As it turned out, perhaps I should have tried somewhere else.Oh Well! I'm really desperate when I call 1&2 cent coins today's best finds! Cheers mate.
good video bud! I’ve watched a few of your videos and seen that you have found some really interesting things in the past 12 years of posting on UA-cam, I would love to see a video showing all your coins/relics you’ve come across in your time metal detecting! love seeing people’s unique collections! especially someone who’s been doing it for as long as you! good work bloke keep it up!
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed.Has it been 12 years? How time flies. I've been detecting for much longer than that.I have jars, tins and albums of my finds, trying to keep together finds from different sites. One day I might attempt to make a video showing my finds.Cheers.
Heya Gazza… doing your bit for the environment no doubt maaaaate! Cheers Slim
G'day Slim.At least there's that about it. I managed to rid the site of a load of trash.Cheers mate.
@@DetectingOz aren’t we all just doin that Gaz!
Typical day on the hunt ! Cannot help but notice how those numbers are very close to my Nokta Simplex. Silvers are 89-96, pennys 68-80, 2 cents very similar.
Very typical of some hunts, but others are better. If the Nokta goes up to 100,I imagine the numbers would be similar.Cheers
It's not a grim dose of reality, Gary, you've at least confirmed for yourself you've been thorough with the gridded area. Just a thought, at some point the Fitzroy Football Club went from the gorilla mascot to the lion, and rings have been popular tokens of allegiance, also for cartoon characters. I might look that up! Any likelihood they're silver or just a cheap metal like for a Phantom ring, although some cheap metal items can be all the rarer for being that much more ephemeral and less likely to have been kept for posterity. Anyhoo, best wishes for your next field of potential dreams, and cheers!
Hi Gabi. This is the reality of some hunts, but since then I've done better. Those ring Lions and gorillas are only a cheaper metal- possibly aluminium.Never occurred to me they might be from a football club,so that's a possibility. Thanks for watching.Cheers.
Motto of the day "never trust the chicken sticks". Looks very much like some of my days.
Hi Paul.We all have those sorts of days, just most don't show it on youtube. I like to keep it real.Cheers mate.
Great idea with the gridding and the chicken sticks but I guess the only problem in doing that and digging all the targets live is the curse of the live dig 😂 can't win em all and as we know there's more days like this than there is of great days detecting. Cheers Gazza.
Hi Darren.Would have been nice to find a coin in the gridded area, but it wasn't to be. Probably my most unproductive hunt for ages, and I nearly wasn't going to upload the vid,but then I thought...why not? I should show the reality of detecting.....sometimes... Cheers mate.
@@DetectingOz yeah I'm hearing you mate. I guess new detectorists would get disheartened seeing people dig nothing but good stuff.
I really enjoyed the vid Gary. The idea of thoroughly detecting a marked out area, gridding, is very appealing to me. It’s been a great spot in the past and certainly that’s the reality. After a few visits, the finds start to decrease. But there’s still always something. Cheers for sharing! Take care mate 😊👍🤞🍻
Glad you enjoyed Camille. It's certainly not all gold and silver, but as you say, always something to find.Cheers.
Gotta love reality Gazza, most people who watch would know we don’t always find gold or silver 😂
G'day Jim.Certainly not one of my most productive hunts, but since then I've done a lot better. There's always next time.Cheers mate.
@@DetectingOz I’m going out tomorrow morning with my mate Tommy, fingers crossed we find something worth making a video for lol, we’ve smashed the place so many times over the last ten years, we will try something different and today’s rain hopefully makes the silver’s sing. Have a great weekend Gaza 👍
Ps after that never went detecting for a week.
That didn't stop me Brett.I was out detecting again at the first opportunity.Cheers.
Dump shop I got over 500 spring steel markers 400mm with blue marker tabs would say used in a state forest pine-tree 🌲 markers 5.00 dollar invest ment. So Craig me and Lil did a park over over 300 🎯 targets marked beach 🏖 133.😂 out of all targets 39 were coins 87%were 3ins down.😂
You've done this on a large scale then Brett. At least you got 39 coins out of it.Cheers.
@@DetectingOz yep 3 people never do it again but and when markers are out one can see the lay out. With 800 now only chase 21 vdi or 22 gold coins should say 6% ally lol 😂.
Good day out Gary. Nice lot of finds. That Vicky shilling is in brilliant condition. Beautiful. Good on for the collection. Well done. Take care mate 😁👍
Thanks Andrew. Shilling is almost like new. Very rarely do they come up that nice. I'm really getting to like the M9 Coil now. I hope you've dug some nice hammered silver up there in the UK. Cheers mate and enjoy the rest of your holiday.
Nice finds, love the old shilling, great work 👍
Thanks mate.Shilling is a beauty.Cheers.
Great finds, hello from Houston, Texas.
Thanks for watching all the way from Texas. Cheers.
Lovely shilling Gazza mate. Beautiful condition 👍
G'day Paul.One of the best I've found.Cheers mate.
Impressive shilling. All the ones I have found that age are very worn.
This one must have been lost when it was very new. Most I've found are worn too.Cheers mate.
Some nice finds.
Considering I've covered that area before,I did ok. It's sometimes surprising what you can miss first time around.Cheers.
boom let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵
Thanks for watching.Cheers.
Thanks for the video, nice coin hunt 😊
Thanks mate.I did better than expected considering I'd hunted that ground previously.Cheers.
Great relics Gary that shilling is in cracking shape, well done mate awesome hunt with the M9 👍👍
Hey Jim, how come you didn't answer my comment on your channel today? 😢
Hi Jim.Lovely shilling was the find of the day .Haven't used the M9 coil much before, but I'm really growing to like it the more I use it.Cheers mate.
