You‘re right. Although as a advice to everyone considering this: a lot of preparation is needed. Firstly you should check if your degree meets the german standards. Depending on your degree its possible you need to retake some classes and exams. You need to be part of the Ärztekammer and thus meet its standards. Besides that „apprenticeships“ are very helpful. Furthermore language is the key. Learn the language and get to a certain level. Applications with bad german and lack of certificates/ „proof“ of a certain type of language knowledge get rejected very quickly. Besides that there are companies that focus on integrating and finding a job for foreign doctors. Although they charge a fee, the serious ones are a good start. As they help you with finding a job, get the necessary language level, etc.
