Greco Telecaster type - '70s Japanese electric guitar restoration
A regular at my favorite bar asked me to repair his 1978 Greco. In addition to the poor condition of the neck, the electrical system was also damaged and no sound come out. The truss rod in the neck was at its limit and could not correct the warping any further. I decided to remove the original neck and leave it as it is so that I can repair it in the future, and put a new replacement neck in its place.

'70s Japanese Electric Guitar Fresher Restomod
Переглядів 3,8 тис.Місяць тому
I bought a junk electric guitar from the brand Fresher, which was sold in Japan in the 1970s, at an auction. Most of the hardware was missing and the paint was in poor condition, so I decided to try to make a restomod with the help of a friend. I had a hard time because the specifications of the parts didn't match the specifications of the parts currently sold. My friend refinished the guitar a...

I got a Greco EG800 made in 1979! It was a used guitar that was sold as a "good condition", but the body was dirty and the pots were scratchy and made a lot of noise. At the end of the year, I got another guitar. Greco EW-82 T.O.M is a guitar built in Japan around 2010. It's a guitar that seems inspired by PRS McCarty, but with a detachable neck. Since it has T.O.M. bridge, the response is quick and direct, making it a guitar that suits rock sounds well. Repairing the junkiest Les Paul type guitar ever
Переглядів 2,5 тис.8 місяців тому
I bought a Les Paul type guitar from an unknown manufacturer at an auction. Although it was written that there would be no problem with playing, the guitar's neck was severely warped when it arrived, and the strings were over 1cm high at the 12th fret. Since the truss rod was also at its limit, I decided to try correcting the fingerboard and making a refret for the first time. It took a year to...

    I really enjoy your videos and always look forward to new content with excitement. Great work! However, I personally believe that preserving the original relic on a guitar is important. These guitars shouldn’t be cleaned too much. The patina and mojo must stay intact. With the neck replacement, some of the original mojo and road-worn character might have been lost, which is a bit unfortunate. However great content and keep on!

      Thank you! I know very well that it's important not to clean old guitar too much. This time, I wasn't confident in fixing the original neck, so I decided to keep it in its original state and temporarily put a new neck on it, but I'll try to restore the original neck someday!

    Hi! Watched all of your vids about yamaha pacifica line of guitar Im buying my first electric guitar and cant seems to find the different between the sound of 112v and 112 vm or should i pick the 112j. Which one would you suggest? Nice restoration btw

    • @croquetteguitar
      @croquetteguitar 5 днів тому

      Thank you for watching the videos. Personally, I like the slightly distinctive sound of a maple fretboard, so I like the 112VM. However, if you're looking for an all-purpose guitar as your first purchase, the 112 might be more versatile. However, either way, there's no doubt that both guitars are worth more than their price, so you won't regret whichever one you choose!

LOL Don't need it. But want it. Seems as though the pick-ups aren't great, based on your comments, and others. I'd change out the bridge pup. But this is a cool guitar! You play great, too. Subbed.

    Covered vs uncovered is more about esthetics. Little audible difference. I can barely hear a difference and certainly not in a band context.
