Nice Find. I had a 37 desoto and now have a 54 desoto 2 door hardtop with the 276 hemi. Desoto's are just too kool.

That Satellite with the 383 to me is not an original engine car! There are no AC vents in and having that big AC unit under the hood is dead giveaway! The Hemi is awesome!

I had a friend who ran one of the factory Hemi Darts back in the day and he knew the Chrysler guys first hand. From what I recollect,the missile was referred to as " The mule" meaning it was where things got there tryouts before being released as info to other Chrysler racers in the ProStock class particularly but also applied to other classes where legal.

Having just met Arnie through a recent buisness deal, I can vouch for it and say he is the real deal. This was a great video, but it barely scratches the surface of this man's incredible life and his history with those legendary cars. I am proud to call Arnie a friend, and will always cherish the chrome dual plug hemi valve covers from the Motown Missile Challenger, which has always been my favorite old race car.

Mid-high 9's back in the day?? I got to see Grumpy run his 331 Vega at NY national speedway early 70's. 2000 CFM each on those carbs? I wonder how that was possible unless the entire carb base was significantly larger than a stock dominator??

They moved the 70 Challenger body backwards, not forward. They moved the wheels forward.

In 1988 I was at a car show in Paris KY. I meet a man, and he took me to see this car (I believe it was this car). The man that owned it said it was for sale (I had no money anyway), it was in a Coca-Cola warehouse. Very cool.
