When you can't hold your biowaste any longer, you just don't care if it is upside down or some direction else.

I had a different idea. My dropship had just 4 drop pods, only 1 of which was manned, but it still was more than enough for any vanilla pirate base. You see, rather than spamming pods like here, I instead made them spin mid-drop, eject lots of tiny decoys, as well as provide cover with some turrets atrached to the pods. Meanwhile the crewed one had an artillery gun, so the player can snipe some targets during the descent, as well as medkit for respawning. Best part? Everything was timed so well, it worked by pressing a single button before entering the main pod. Not only that, but parachutes were entirely optional. Landing legs were long enough to tank the hit, so you could do a quick drop as well. Also the main dropship could return to orbit on its own, upon having finished its job.

I love that drop ship. I would recommend dropping them in sequence and maybe removing the line of armor blocks inside the legs, I found they land better without that.

if you can, design the throttle to apply a low impulse but steady forward force to keep the drills in contact with the rock. It's actually not a bad design, just need a few tweaks but it's actually pretty solid.

If the explosion while landing would be missing, then it wouldn't be Space Engineers. The same with 1min having troubles while getting into the hangar.

Definitely needs a larger vehicle bay, and an extended neck to dock to so the thrusters don't blow up the floor.
