i always love a rework even if it's weird. shaking up the way the game works is ways fun to me. i love how disc currently plays in raid and m+, so these changes are super weird and i can't even conceptualize how it's going to be played optimally in raid. it seems less fun and powerful than now, but hey, if tuning makes it strong i'll have fun with it anyway

Hey I am super curious why you mind soothe some pulls before hand? Is it just that some tanks skip those pulls and you're not sure what this group will do or is there some benefit to having soothed mobs in a pack?

A few of my thoughts on reading the patch notes. 1) Replacing PtW with SW:P is fine. However it's currently way undertuned. PtW was +100% damage on SW:P, now they added 25% on SW:P which falls ways short, even with the extra 15% from Pain and Suffering. They said they wanted the passive HoT healing to have more impact, so maybe the intent is to use he old values from PtW for SW:P and then put the 25% bonus on top, it's probably still not enough to make that DoT damage convert into noticable HoT atonement healing though. 2) Rupture in my eyes will be missed. I wasn't a huge fan of it before, but in this season it was actually quite a good for ST spot healing and maybe the only viable spot healing we had outside of heal penance. Popping it and it having 30 seconds to throuw out some powerful ST heals was greaata to have as a filler between cooldown windows. 3) They wanted to reduce CDs but did they really? Instead of Rapture I will now have Uppies for M+. For raids the removal of Rapture doesn't really do much as you just fill that in with renews instead I assume? 4) Raid healing as Disc is still not attractive to me. I kind of want to like it, but I hate the 20 second locked in rotation where you have to first apply atonements then power up your mulipliers (mindblast/squid) and then do damage. I think a choice node to change PW:Radiance into a long cooldown 10-20 people ability would be neat for raid healing, it cuts down the stupid mega prep you do, but still leave in some skill, it would become a bit more like the M+ variant that most people seem to enjoy. 5) I do like how they try to make Oracle more attractive by these changes. I think the rift nerf is fine (most of the power of VW comes from Void Blast and the Rift collapse anyway). I do think however that Voidweaver is such a good match with Disc that they shouldn't aim to make Oracle better, just viable would suffice. 6) Smite buff is a big plus. I think Smite so far has been a boring filler that purely serves to feed into Void Summoner. 7) Void Summoner change can go both ways. I think that the removal of Smite makes it better to balance around, however with this change you really cannot sit on Penance or Mindblast without massively gimping yourself. In the past I could delay Mindblast and Penance and smite spam to prep for a big damage window. Now you're either going to have to fire MB/Penance and hope they come back in time or you have to sit on them and lose out on overal Mindbender uptime. I will have to play to see, but I really quite liked the current flow of Mind Blast -> Pet + Mind Blast -> Mind Blast -> Pet + Mind Blast -> etc Rotation. 8) I'm not so sure that the bottom left side talents (Inner Focus / Divine Aegis / Eternal Barrir) will be that good. Each of them work of direct healing spells, how often do you really cast these and will 20% extra crit really have an impact there ? I think these talents are extremely costly for what might only contain 5% of your overal healing, of course it's fun to get some uber powerful shields and I can see how these talents might work much better with Oracle, but I'm not so sure on these for Voidweaver 9) I still think they need to rethink Luminous Barrier; I really want to love it, but it's too weak for a 3 min CD. They can either completely change it (e.g. put Rapture back in it's place so you can chose between dome for raids and Rapture for M+) or they need to lower the cooldown to maybe 30-60 seconds and adjust the strength so it's more readily available.

Great videos, Disc! One question that comes up for me every time I see a healing UI. The party frames are vertical on the left side. However, assuming the mouse is being used with one's right hand, isn't it clumsy to move the pointer all the way to the left to click the party frames. I could imagine the party frames on the right side would be more comfortable? :)

do you think with the recent changes haste is still the way to go? i really like the 30% haste playstyle i don't wanna really go back tbh.

With rapture gone and pws having a cd means they can buff pws to make it more Impactful. Also. VW had gaps. They will have more now. It may be oracle comes into play

I see it as a good thing if these changes puts oracle on equal footing with voidweaver for M+/raids. It'll add some variety to the gameplay, while not requiring the big shift in mindset that going from disc to holy requires. I do love the voidweaver playstyle, but it would be nice sometimes to not have my gameplay so centered around the pet.

Actually Twilight Equilibrium fits super well with Disc Oracle, i remember making a ticket few weeks back asking PotW to be changed as a Shadow spell because we lost the double charge on Mind Blast. Glad Blizzard is listening ! Although i am a bit doubtful about the result of Rapture, because it as useful for Voidweaver that it is for Oracle but hey overall it is still a good "smooth out" of Oracle we had too many conflict between playing as a damaging Disc or spot healing like a traditional healer.

Honestly I was using the new Rapture as a tank / ST spell. It was so nice to have some spaced out ST big shields especially in Ara Kara without poison dispel, Dawnbreaker, and like hard tank packs in SV and CoT. I don't feel like much of this is replacing that niche since we were already great at partywide big hits... But appreciate your positivity anyway ❤

Your build was exactly what I theorycrafted for Voidweaver, no notes. Definitely fun to see the reactions to the changes from a VW point of view when I've been in Oracle for a month or so now. To me these all scream huge Oracle buffs. I'm excited :) I do believe Rapture was removed to open up design space for PW:S - from Oracle, having Insight able to give us multiple shields, and Rapture giving us multiple shields, there wasn't much room to grow skill expression with absorbs tbh. It was very by the numbers for some encounters for sure.

I really hope there is a lingering effect on the 4set, i know it has its applications, but it feels counterintuitive because of shielding existing to prevent damage, not to increase healing after the damage went through

I do think that Overloaded With Light is a bait too. UP itself is so powerful that we don't need extra healing. This talent shines in raids since it applies atonement on 10 allies, making it a really fast and powerful ramp. About Malicious Intent, I hear the Smite argument but one thing you didn't mention is that by losing Purge The Wicked, it seems we also are losing its extended duration (20s instead of 16s) which hurts our DoT management. Plus the fact that we are encouraged to Defensive Penance more often, I feel like Painful Punishment is gonna look more attractive. Finally, it's nice if Luminous Barrier becomes a competitive alternative to PW: Barrier. I think at higher keys the DR from PW: Barrier will still be OP, but if the party is more often spread than grouped, it's losing a lot of its value, making Luminous Barrier a good alternative. Maybe it's gonna depend on the dungeon.

I was upset at first, but If we really will be able to use penance to shield the whole team, and even luminous barrier, then losing rapture is not that bad.

You so masterfuly fix other players' rotation, as a video editor, I wanted to fix your rotation in premiere pro. J - K - L are the keys to rewind/start-stop/and fastforward the video in premiere. Also, (`) key is to get the window that is selected to full screen or minimize it to regular view. Hope this helps so, you can rewind or fastforward without having to manually click :)

Do you think there are damage scenarios where pet > blast/rift > radiance is the play? Thinking things like EDNA pillars where you get really good atonement timing against the dots if you play the sequence like that. I see other discs like Neeb, Zaelia, and Growl varying these cast sequences depending on the situation. Sometimes they seem to hold penance for movement, precast radiance for more torments and two HD-buffed penances in their rift, not even cast a second penance to farm back pet faster, or even cast blast > rad > rad > penance for big short bursts of healing. I’m curious what your thoughts are on this!

Dibs on PI weak aura is a bit simpler than using OmniCD to show the offensive CD of the team. I prefer that and then showing only the most impactful defensives of the team, that helps not to waste pain sups

Part-way through watching, but already picked up on something I can use - putting out long atonements between pulls (renews, shields, flash heal tank maybe). I've been starting every pull with radiance to spread atonements, and then going into my pet-death-rift-penance-blast-blast-blast muscle memory routine ;) I will try out the long atonements.. I can see how that would also keep me from getting (as quickly) into the state we sometimes see where I am mid fight with no radiance available for 5-10 seconds when I'd like to start a new rift sequence.
