Rocket League's ranking system is the worst in any game I've ever played. It doesn't allow you to compete. When it decides you've gone high enough it gives you just the worst players possible. Players that are Passive, indecisive and stupid, that have poor timing and positioning. Remember, it's about how good your team is not the individual. You are only as strong as your weakest player, and Rocket League sure knows how to give you just the worst players possible.

ngl, been playing rocketleague for about 4 years now, and i'm done as well. epic ruined it for me. trading being gone, nothing being done about the toxicity (literally got a 24hr ban for "spam reporting" ppl who were making death threats and such, nothing done to them) not to mention the smurf percentage. imagine my surprise when i, a diamond, booted up bakkes to see what my opponents previous ranks in twos were, only to find half of them within two seasons past were high champs or grand champ. This happened 16 times in a row, btw. (c1 div 1, c1 div 3, gc1 div 1, c3 div 2, c1 div 1, c2 div 4, gc1 div 3, gc1 div 1, etc) and before someone says "yeah but you get them on your team too" yeah? really? cause on avg my tm8 in twos is at least one div lower. i havent had a single smurf on my team in comp, and can count on one hand in casual. Speaking of... cant even play casual casually anymore because they added in bans on leaving casual matches, not to mention they messed up matchmaking so bad its not even funny. oh, and dont even get me started on how half the season rewards are for a completely different game (f u fortnite) and thus are pointless. its jsut...no longer fun to play. they sucked all the fun out of it.

Heres my opinion: Content: why does content really matter in a game like this? Its about the sport and competition... not about actual content. I get it specitically for content creators, but for the average player (like 99%, of players lol) it doesnt mattsr at all. Also, people like squishy are dtill fun to watch and he literally just plays and gives tips... you dont have to make extravagent content to make it interesting. Gameplay: again i get it for pros. But for everyone else, gameplay is just fine. Target audience: i dont care about this lol. Just ignore skins and stuff. Voice chat: again the text chat is tood enough for this game, and voice chat outside of discord is just annoying. Everything else: i think the title should say "RL isnt for me anymore" instead if RL is dead lol. It certainly isnt dead. Its just different. For me ive only been playing for a couple years so maybe thsts why, but i still like the sense of improvement and the thrill of actual competition. Not a lot of games outside of actual sports can provide thst for me.

as sad as it sounds, rocket league for me is just the same as playing soccer or any other fun sport outside. I get that alot of people want fresh content before it gets boring. But this game will never die for me. Soccer never died for me and neither did tennis. These things never change and Rocket League doesn't have to change for me in order to not die. More content is always great tho. Maybe i'm not part of the majority but that's just my two cents ig

Excuse me but most fortnite players are not just kids thank you . and second, i only downloaded rocket league 2 days ago to get the cars that I can use in FN and I seem to have the rocket pass thru fortnite but I don't really feel like grinding this rocketleague pass out... but I guess I will if there are new cars. Do they have new cars each season?

Unfortunately the RL scene does seem to be dying, Epic Games has honestly ruined it. Ranked is absolutely ruined, filled with nothing but Smurfs, or washed previous higher ranks in lower ranks. They took out trading. Not to mention every season is same shit different season. And it used to be so fun for me to want to rank up. But now I’m like C1, it does nothing but stress me out and piss me off because of all of the reason listed above. I’ve been playing since late 2020. These past 4 years have been fun. But I can’t take this game seriously anymore. It doesn’t excite me anymore. Its soul and the feeling of the game is just.. gone. But that’s fine. Not everything last forever. But you can partially blame epic for not giving the game the love it deserves. Because they’re money hungry bastards. I’ve personally been REALLY excited to Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero to come out. I’m excited again.. I’m practicing the mechanics, studying, learning again. Feeling the hype of wanting to be the best I can be. So it’s time for me to move on as well ❤️ RL you served a great time, and great motivation but your time has come to an end for me unfortunately I will only be playing causal from now on. Or even ranked casually. Every now and then. But it’s not worth coming back to full time there’s so many good games coming out this year and next. matchmaking is worst than ever last 2 years.. playin in plat or in diamond or in champ against grand champs ALL THE TIME!!! Epic Games team should be closed down to a dungeon making only unreal engine.. nothing more..! FUCK EPIC GAMES AND EVERYTHING IT REPRESENTS. FUCK THIS COMPANY.

from 2019-2021, rl was my life. in november 2021 I quit and started speedrunning. I definitely dodged a bullet.

idk rl has become into a game where theres just no room for failure and everyone sweats their ass of theres no room for fun anymore thats how i feel rl has evolved since epic games took over. the rank system getting fucked with again making diamond and champion basicly a sess pool of champions and diamons mixed so now you are either stuck with a champ lobby or stuck in a diamond lobby with 0 consistancy making u unable to really learn from past mistakes bcus champ and diamond lobbies just play very different.

wow.... not that it was hard to tell, but it kind of hits different when all the mentioned content creators and even more come here and basically agree. used to love rocket league. could sometimes enjoy the random game modes that were only available for short times, but its so damn repetitive. and when then the normal game modes are even filled with flamers, leavers and smurfs its really hard to have fun. joining a discord "clan" with 50 people loving the game and having private lobbies with them now and then made it enjoyable for 1-2 more years for me, but even that gets old sometimes, although its still fun to hang out with the crew.

Rocket League isn’t any more dead than Chess, Poker, or actual Soccer. It’s a sport. It’s a very unique and fun sport that literally almost anybody can play and improve at the more that they play. If you’re not into it anymore, that’s fine, I’m not really into football anymore, myself, and I can’t even play that. If I would complain about anything, it would be that the marketplace isn’t completely open, letting you even spend money to get all of the content that you want. You haven’t continuously come back and hope that some of the featured items are interesting, or play to unlock them. It’s exploitative…

For me, it was the absolute absurd amount of mechanics needed to get near the top. That and them messing with the ranking systems when we didn't ask them too. I hit GC 2 at one point and then just had this eye opener when I see people hitting constant double flip reset into a fake pogo pre flip bump. Like my guys, I am pushing 40. I should need a script to play a game.
