How to Fly Fish Alpine Lakes (Uintah Mountain Range)
Let me guess, some factory polluted the water.
What song is this
Can't they just throw in some compost instead of actual salmon? Seems like a waste to me..
They died of natural causes at the hatchery
I mean I’m pretty sure the salmon dies when they spawn anyway right? So why let the bodies go to waste?
Once a salmon spawns and die shortly after their meat/body very quickly decomposes almost like a self destruct. It'd be impossible to sell before becoming a mushy mess
It's not...
The dpider
What if it's a 180 pound salmon?
Where are you getting 180lb salmon
Brandon Moon and Brent Auger are great dudes. I really enjoy Moonlit and Nirvana rods with 4 rods owned between the Umbra, Lunar, and two Moksha rods. The 4WT five piece rods is a staple for creek fishing, especially in tight canopy where a glass rod has too much flex. I would really love to see a 6WT built in this rod and am unsure why they haven't yet.
Thanks man! I agree, I'd love to see more options in the series, too. The Nivana Moksha in a 6wt is one of my favorite rods! It would be awesome to see how a 6wt umbra stacks up against it.
@@Dr.FlyFilms do you like Streamers on your Moksha 6? Curious of your thoughts. Absolutely! I think like you I see myself getting the 8wt and building it for some warm water species, and some of those Bear Lake Cutts. I just broke in my new Moksha at strawberry reservoir. Caught some fun fish for my channel. Great work.
I really like my 6 weight moksha! I use it as a Streamer rod, and I also use it for heavier nymphs rigs as well. I used it in my bull trout video, throwing nothing but streamers for 3 days and it did great. I also really like it for still water fishing. I recently got the moksha in an 8wt, I'm going to be testing it on some saltwater fishing in a couple of weeks.
@@Dr.FlyFilms good luck 🍀
Beautiful fish
Night fishing in the fall is incredibly relaxing. Bugs from the summer are mostly gone so it’s just you and the water
My social studies teacher went fishing with our math teacher and when he went to cast again he thought he had caught a tree branch but when he went to take it off it bit him and so he turned on his headlamp and he had a caught a big bat 😅 He’s fine and never got rabies
That's crazy😂
Hella cool bro 😎🤘
Full video on my channel!
Most dries have twice as much material than they need to float and get bit. Foam flies almost always have three times as much foam as they need.
the spider lmao
Got that dingle donger
Great insight and share. Thanks, man 🤙🏼
Totally agree. I'm way more successful with 8-12 dries than 14 and smaller as far as hook ups. I wish more suppliers offered wide gap dry hooks, similar to Hanak Jig Superb gap. I would get every fish that bit! Great episode.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Another hook to look into is the Moonlit Togatta ML181. It's got an ok hook gap on there. I do notice a much higher hookup rate compared to other hooks. The smallest size it goes to is a 16. I'll link in the description if you want to check it out
@@Dr.FlyFilms Thanks! Will check it out.
Came across you on TikTok, loving the content man! Pretty new into my fly fishing/fly tying journey and this has me STOKED to get out and chase em! Keep it up
Thanks, man. I really appreciate that🙏 I plan to do a lot more flytying videos this winter as well!
Bait fishing is better lol
Haha I disagree
Waiting hours with a bait you can't even see the eat on ❌️ or having massive blowup on a mouse fly in the middle of the night✅️ yeah I know which one sounds cooler
Ha, been there
Yo Dallin is my name
It's a good name!😂
That's your Spooder, he keeps the bugs away, everyone has a Spooder, you just don't see them.
That's a harvestman, not a spider but easy to mistake :) edit is the name changing to harvesting 😂😂
Just a daddy log leg they the homies
Greedy lol
Haha
That’s sweet bro, I’ll have to add it to my list. Also just had up a vid of fly fishing browns 👌🏻
It's a good time!
That spider at 3:30 😂
Haha, I was quite suprised seeing that while editing!💀
Spider crawled right across dallins chest when he was setting up!!!
Haha, hopefully it didn't hitch a ride home with me💀😂
Dude this video turned out so good!! That new light is gonna be so helpful in future videos🌞
Heck yeah! Can't wait to get out more this season!
I definitely need to fish like that
Real cool place for mousing. Caught a huge tiger there not too long ago.
Nice fish❤
Nice 👌🏼
I wish I could go trout fishing but there’s no good spots around me
Whats a bull trout?
They’re a char, not technically a trout, like brook trout, lake trout, and dolly varden, and they actually used to be considered the same species as dolly varden. They’re usually an olive to grey colour, with pale and sometimes orange spots on their bodies, no markings on their fins, big long “bull-like” heads that lent them their name, and gorgeous orange-red bellies in the fall when they spawn. They live in mountain and a few coastal streams on the western slopes of the Rockies from Nevada up to BC, as well as on the eastern slopes here in Alberta, where they’re our provincial fish. They’re considered to be a threatened species and have been extirpated in many regions due to a combination of overharvesting and habitat loss compounded by the fact that they are very fickle breeders, with individuals taking up to 7 years to start spawning and sometimes only spawning every other year.
its a fish

Nice job guys! Fun vid and cool spots and fish. Love that you got in some white fish too, those are always a good time.
Thanks man!🤙
Looks like a very nice rod
Can't wait to try this rod out!
That is such a beautiful view with the river and mountains
Why don’t y’all just eat ‘em? Catch and release for trout is weird. Are you vegetarian?
Looks like bull trout which are quite rare so if they were eaten there would be none left quite quickly
It's illegal to keep bull trout. And no, I'm not vegetarian 😂
Is it bad that I've never herd of a bull trout, being a fishermen
@@Nick-522 not at all they only exist in a small area of North America
He raised those fish from milt
The guy saying no is a weird vibe. Sounds depressed or something

looks like that snake is snacking on a round goby, good to see at least that they are eating that invasive species. also what a beautiful catch!
