What speed is your saw set to?
@@debbielowrance8579 Debbie I use a DeWalt scroll saw and I cut my coins at the slowest speed the saw will go most of the time. As you get better at cutting you can increase the speed but don't increase the speed with a dull blade it will wander and break. Have phun!
Where can I get the machine, please advise.
@@BharatSilverware This is what I use to drill my holes in coins. Dremel Drill Press Rotary Tool Workstation Stand with Wrench - Mini Portable Press & Tool Holder - 2 Inch Depth- Ideal for Drilling Perpendicular and Angled Holes - 220-01 a.co/d/9tfpL4P
What about complex design ?
Very nice peice ! Think I'm going to give it a try but I am going to glue 2 coins together and do the same process that way I can make 2 coin pendants at the same time !
Thank you!
Great demo!
Thanks Randy!
Wow. Awesome explanation and work. I just realized through your video you could use cnc bits in the router! Thank you
Thank you!
I love this..I have been cutting coins with my hand saw..I have a scroll saw for wood Anychance you could tell me how to set it up for cutting coins? mine takes a 5 inch pin end saw
Hello Chrissy, You would need a scroll saw that uses painless blades. The DeWalt scroll saw seems to be best for this. It takes a lot of practice as you know with cutting coins. I just could not get used to cutting coins with a hand saw. I would break two or three blades just connecting them to the saw! LOL! The hand saw does cut faster because you have better control of speed and pressure on the blade. Someday I will try it again. it's definitely the better way to cut coins. Thanks!
You just earned a new Sub
I use alot of Steve Good Patterns. I actually just bought his USB Drive of Patterns. Well worth the $30!
Yes it is!
Boa tarde! Como faço para comprar essas frescas?. Belíssimo trabalho, parabéns 😉👍👏👏👏
Thanks for sharing, bro!

Nice project Vinnie, glad to see you back😊👍
Thanks Shane! This one took me awhile..lol
@@KerfMan it definitely did 🤣🤣
A number 5 sawblade or a 5/0 blade?
5/0 Pike blade
Great thanks.
Isn't that the very definition of a graven image?
Suggestion I would use a belt sander if you have one. Removes paint much faster. I would also use flat black spray it dries fast. Great video and design.
Thank you!
The bit you used? what was the angle? the wider and deeper I would suppose would cause it to drift and pull out of line. Narrow bits 15° or 20° maybe more suitable. The mill bits work better as the are the same at the end and they cut great.
I use the narrowest CNC bit to outline. That works for me.
@@KerfMan Thanks mate, appreciated.
Hello job well done what stencil was used on Steve Goods Scroll saw shop please
Thanks Glenn! Search Steve's patterns. The pattern pdf is Welcome to Home.
We’re did you buy your router base
I used a Dremel rotary tool that is attached to a plunge router attachment made for that specific rotary tool .
Cool piece Vinnie, now that's something I've not tried, I'll leave this one to you..nicely done 😀 👍
Thanks Shane! It's fun to do! 😊
Good job, it looks 👍
Thanks Gail!
Thats really awesome. I like how you made it.
Thank you!
Nice one Vinnie, 👍
Thanks Shane! It's time now for a router project! 😊
@@KerfMan I'm using a angle grinder at the moment 🤣👍
I just subscribed! I like it!
Thank you!
What is the router attachment that you are using ! You mentioned dremel , but the one being used was Advantage ??
Hello Larry..The Dremel tool I'm using along with the attachment ( plunge attachment) are made for each other. The Dremel "Advantage" was the name of their biggest rotary tool which was discontinued along with the plunge attachment. Dremel did replace both with similar items that can be used together. Thanks for asking!
Very nice! Those first bits you suggest are unavailable. Is there another brand you would recommend??? Thank you!
Thank you! Good work! Thanks for sharing your project.
Thank you!
What was the unit you used with the Dremel tool? Nice finish project!!
Thanks Niel! I have another router... it's an old Black & Decker and it only uses bits that are 1/4". You need a 6.35mm collet reducer to use the 3.175mm cnc and end milling bits. I sometimes use both on a project having the cnc bit in my Dremel plunge router and the milling bit in my Black & Decker router set at the same depth, this way I don't have to stop and change bits. I hope this answers your question. Please let me know. Thanks again! Here's the link to the collet reducer. www.amazon.com/dp/B00N9WRB0I/ref
👍👏👏👏
Thank you! Roberto!
Wow,excellent work Vinnie, well worth the wait, just a beautiful piece..love it..👍
Thanks Shane! There was a ton of editing!
@@KerfMan oh yes 😁👍
Very Nice!
Thanks James!
Great design. Need to also try the scroll of this. BTW, you can get a very nice texture look by hogging out the background with a 60 or 90 degree bit after outlining with you CNC bit.
That's a great idea!
You do great work. But your terminology is wrong. You route a sign, not router a sign.
Thank you, and thank you for pointing that mistake out! 👍
Nicely done Vinnie, nice editing 👌
Thank you Shane!
VERY GOOD JOB
Thank you Stan!
Wow! Great video!
Thanks Tony👍
It looks cleaner and easier than routing. Do you think it was more productive or faster than routing. Nice job!! I'm going to have to break out my scroll saw.
Thanks Shawn! Yes it's a cleaner finish and you can do an onset and inset lettering with this process. I would suggest using double skip tooth blades they cut evenly on both sides, they don't wander . Use the smallest you can with the different types of woods. Practice first cutting a few different letters out, even ones that are cursive font. Where the corners are very tight and looking impossible to make the turns ,make sure you have your saw running fast and make those turns quick with your blade otherwise you will round it out because of the tilt of the table. Easier process?...One way you spend time glueing, the other way sanding. I think it kind of evens out. If you need more help let me know! Have Phun! 😊
very nice job i like that
Thanks David!
Nice one Vinnie, great end result 👍
Thanks Shane!

Nice job brilliant video to watch I liked it hope you do many more videos take care
Thanks David!
Thanks for showing this technique in such great detail. You gave me ideas for future projects and taught me a couple things I didn’t know. Great video!!
Thanks Shawn! I enjoy it as much as scroll sawing. Those CNC and End milling bits are not expensive either. Just a lot of fun!
Another idea for me to try ,thanks for the interesting video.
Thanks Peter!
I found this link in Steve Goods newsletter today and I found it to be a fantastic difference to just scrollsawing the pattern. Thanks so much for share Steve and Vinny for the great detail on your approach to this technique. I hadn't heard of a Dremel Plunge Router, and since I have a Dremel I went and searched for it. I found a "335-01 Plunge Router Attachment" but not the Advantage that you had in your video. I found pictures of the Advantage, but nothing for sale. The 335 looks to be bigger than your Advantage but it may be just the video picture versus the picture on Dremel's web site. Is the Advantage an older model and is it the really the same size as the 335? I'm really interested in trying this technique on a couple of projects.
Carl, Thank you so much! I'm glad you like the video. The Advantage is an older model and is discontinued. Luckily when I did buy it I also purchased the plunge router that went with it because they discontinued that also..The model you have, I think is the replacement. My good friend in the UK Shane... Fishtank5050 check out his channel. He got he started on doing this type of artwork.... I find it it's a lot of fun and it's addicting just like scroll sawing. There are a lot of Steve Good's patterns that are super to use to carve. Carl let me know how you make out! Thanks again! 👍
@@KerfMan thanks. I went and checked out Fishtank5050 and he use a compact router which I'm guessing is even bigger than the Dremel 335. Looks like fun.
Gives me some ideas I had not thought about. Could you establish a cut line like when using a chisel for you straight cuts. Use a straight edge and a marking knife giving you a shoulder to cut against. Thanks for some great ideas.
James.. That's a great idea! A chisel for marking a straight line would work. You would just have to make sure the milling bit is set at the same depth. I'm going to try that. Thanks for the feedback!👍
Excellent project. Steve Good is certainly a great resource for the scrolling community. I really like your version of this project with texturing between the letters instead of simply cutting them out. Will be visiting your site to see your other videos.
Thanks Roland! Yes...Steve has a great variety of project patterns to please everyone. Thanks for your feedback!
Vinny , Looks Good !!! I did one a few years for a neighbor.
Thanks Paul! They are fun to do!😊
