hey man, cool tutorial but i have problem now, since i merged two spheres with the cylinder, i cannot properly use textures because somehow the UV's are broken and no matter what i do i cannot get a continous texture between the cylinder and the sphere (the tip of the sausage). how do i fix that. there is like a ring arround the ver ends of the sausage where the texture is completele off, thats where we merged the sphere with the cylinder.

For anyone trying to use a path and the calculate length isnt working go into edit mode, right click path and select set spline type to bezier, you may need to subdivide it.

Actually, you don't need to make it a copy to change the material. You can just drag the material onto the group output and it will add a material property to the geometry node. You can also do this to add an object target property to it.

i see different thing in render vs layout. In render its just a circle with balls that doesnt create this flow effect.

What if your ring doesn't look like that in UV editor, like if it has a different shape?

I dove down the Zoetrope rabbit hole in blender a few months ago. Realizing that in reality we will never create a zoetrope the "right way". The concept is we are creating a "shutter" with a real zoetrope ( slits of strobes ), and the persistent vision our brains provide makes the animation smooth(ish). This modeling idea, although visually appealing. is NOT a zoetrope, at the end you chop the rotation back 12deg to match the frequency of the array. this then make the animation stationary. so, in 3d design what are we doing? we are not recreating EXACT replicas of something. we are recreating the visual representation of the effect or scene. so in the end. why not STOP rotating the base, stop rotating the coins, and just make them jump vertically. and rotating the material you applied to the base to give the EFFECT of rotation. there is really no reason to rotate the 3d model anymore here. you can just make jumping coins, and make a rotation effect in the material. Although I enjoyed your video and my rabbit hole dive into zoetropes some months ago. I realized my flaw in blender all along, im trying to recreate real things. but in reality we are just trying to recreate the IDEA or the LOOK of that thing in the 3d environment. sometimes its way simpler than we realize.

I am missing the menu on the right hand side that has the View tab that you use to make all of the location axis values 0. I don't have any of those tabs. How can I get it to pop out? Or where else are those functions? TIA!
