    all alternatives except eureka flag looks like a third world country flag, and the eureka flag has a few design flaws, eg: overlapping spaces of the stars and the cross, and the character of the stars are not readable from a distance

    this is a really great video perfectionism... really is often the thief of joy, eh? i've occasionally pondered what it'd be like to just throw it to the side and do a "von sway" approach to building, like... having some house with friends where we try to just keep adding to it more and more without concern of asking each other about what we're doing, or about it looking nice. but ive never quite done it i think its a really fun way to do things, and maybe could very well apply to like. script writing or something! just writing a version you think is a little "stupid" or unorganized... and then trying to polish it up a bit. it certainly gets more done than being frozen in place, worrying about where to even start.. i think this is a video every minecraft player experiencing creative burnout should see. I'll end my comment with a story: one time, i was cleaning my minecraft server list. i noticed a server that i had played on before (hosted by one of my friends) had changed. for a while now, it was a world played by another friend group, who i know almost no one from. i hopped on, out of curiosity. no one else was online, but... it was such a special feeling, as i immediately saw a world that felt, as you'd call it, "von sway" in style. there was a giant glass tube with cubes of coral blocks inside of it. a nether portal inside of a big tree. a long minecart track across the ocean shore. nothing felt Perfect, but in a way it felt human in a way like no other minecraft world i had recently been a part of. seeing the human element of whimsy, joy, and limitless, pointless fun... almost brought a tear to my eye. i walked around a bit, and... even though no one was online, i typed some compliments into chat. just about how much i loved what they had made. and then i hopped off. I think that's when i started vaguely thinking about "building without clear intent" to have fun with minecraft again, but. ive kinda forgotten about that until seeing this video so thank you for sharing your story. it is much appreciated <3 ALSO RASPBERRY FLAVOURED WOOO its great. remixing a game to be a tad less familiar can also breed a lot of creativity... and, im excited for the future of minecraft because its becoming even more customizable via datapacks, with so many technical changes and great useful things for creators to make their own unique experiences. i hope for a future where people use the tools that mojang is giving us, as well as the tools of mods themselves, to continue to create even more vast and different experiences, to inspire and refresh us if minecraft was just the vanilla survival game, it wouldn't be nearly as special. but its so much more. its a platform; a canvas that you can change to your liking.

    hey, raspberry flavoured project lead here - tysm for the shout :) this was a great watch, and personally i feel as though the most important takeaway from all this is that even with something like etho's trademark von sway building style, it's not at all required to enjoy your time in a world, nor is anything else in particular - the reason why i decided to make drastic changes such as removing the end and villages in raspberry flavoured is to remove that inherent feeling of being railroaded a certain way in the game, since as easy as it may seem to simply say "if you don't like these things, don't use them" that won't take away from our natural urge to play with these features that can certainly cut down on some of the grind, but at the cost of removing a lot of the fun and personal connection a world that comes from said grind with those types of distractions out of the way, minecraft very quickly starts to give off very similar vibes to how everyone felt about the beta versions of the game, without sacrificing all the great QoL features and other fun additions that are a part of modern versions big tangent aside, i massively admire that you've found your own ways to enjoy the game, and i hope you'll inspire many others to do the same and realise that the game is still just as wonderful, if not even more than it's ever been tl;dr: good video big enjoy :)

    LEAVE OUR AUSTRALIAN FLAG ALONE !!! Our Flag wears the stars that blaze at night, In our Southern skies of blue, And a little old flag in the corner, That's part of our heritage too. It's for the English, the Scots and the Irish, Who were sent to the ends of the earth, The rogues and schemers, the doers and dreamers, Who gave modern Australia its birth. And you, who are shouting to change it, You don't seem to understand, It's the flag of our laws and our language, Not the flag of a faraway land. Though there are plenty of people who'll tell you, How when Europe was plunged into night, That little old flag in the corner, Was their symbol of freedom and light. It doesn't mean we owe allegiance, To a forgotten imperial dream, We've the stars to show where we're going, And the old flag to show where we've been. It's only an old piece of bunting, It's only an old piece of rag, But there are thousands who've died for its honour, And shed of their blood for OUR FLAG.❤❤❤❤❤

    I personally really like the Triple Union flag and I’d have to disagree with you when you say it shows the original custodians, colonists and compatriots getting along. Rather I'd say that it acknowledges each group's important contribution to our history and our modern nation. Also part of the symbolism of the flag is that the Commonwealth Star (The Colonists) has pushed the sun (The Original Custodians) away from the red section (The Land) this detail represents the removal of Indigenous people from their land both through colonisation and other acts like the stolen generation. So it definitely doesn't brush over that aspect of Australian history. I think the Triple Union flag could work in a similar way to the Union flag (aka Union Jack) in that it could be a symbol for the union of Aboriginal, Torres Strait and Non-indigenous Australians without replacing each individual group's flag. Similar to how the flag of England still exists with the Union Jack the Aboriginal, Torres Strait and (current) Australian flags could exist with the Triple Union flag. Is it a perfect flag, no, but I do think it's a step in the right direction compared to the other contenders. But hey that's just my opinion on the matter.

    • @ane_world
      @ane_world 24 дні тому

      That is an interesting perspective. I think the reason I said that it represents the three groups getting along is because I don’t think national flags are neutral symbols. They are saluted on flag poles and flown during parades. So I interpreted the symbolism of the Triple Union Flag to be positive, otherwise it meant that we would be symbolising some of the worst actions of the Australian government on our most recognisable national symbol. The Triple Union Flag makes for an interesting political symbol but not a great symbol to rally behind. You don’t get to change your flag very often so its not something you can make incremental progress toward :P I think there is a bigger conversation about reconciliation to be had that I didn’t really get time for in the video, but thank you for your comment !

    • @Matt-zp1kt
      @Matt-zp1kt 23 дні тому

      @@ane_world Hey Adam thanks for taking the time to reply. What you said about flags not being neutral symbols is true and something that I didn't consider originally. Also the fact that the Triple Union flags' meaning could be interpreted that way shows its not very clear in the message its trying to portray, which is a negative against the design. I'd also agree that symbolising those terrible acts on the national flag would be a strange, even bad, choice and something that I wouldn't really want. Maybe the Flag would be better used as a sort of protest flag or something in that manner. Very true about the incremental progress for chaning the flag lol I was refering more towards the designs people come up with in the sense that atleast there is a bit of thought and meaning put into the design rather than just "hey lets remove the union jack and just have a blue banner with 6 white stars". I hope these ramblings make sense im kinda tired lol. Once again thank you for replying and for being civil aswell. best of luck with your channel hope you do well 👍

    What I find is strange is that despite all the many advantages of the trams so many places removed them and NOW are having to painfully rebuild what they once already had. Gee imagine an all electric transport system decades before EVs became practical.

    Thankyou for a clear, and informative video. I grew up in Melbourne, and, although for the last 40 odd years, have resided in Queensland, I still return regularly to Melbourne. I always use a tram to get everywhere I need to go, and on the rare occasion, I might grab a train. Those red rattlers trains....I remember them so well, especially going to the footy, or a Moomba procession.
