why the hell did this masterpiece pop up in my recommended TWO YEARS LATER!!?? Anyway- the editing, commentary and analysis in this video are amazing. Great job on this!! Also my random personal opinion; I personally LOVED origami king. And fun fact, Paper Mario color splash is actually my number one favorite game in the series so far next to Origami King. Btw, Paper Mario color splash gives me SO MUCH NOSTALGIA and brings back SO MANY good memories. It holds such a very special place in my heart and made my love for paper Mario what it is today. I’m pretty sure why I like both of those games is because I did not grow up playing the classic games. So I technically can’t say anything about the new games because I never played or even watched a play through of any of the old games when I was little. 💀 Also it’s kinda funny how you hate Olivia while she’s my favorite character from the game and on my list of my favorite modern paper Mario sidekicks next to Huey. 💀 OOOKAAYYY enough yapping now- BYE-

Because you asked for feedback about your review, then this is my feedback: - Starting with the flipside, I liked that you explained clearly why you don't like the mechanics that you didn't like and how affect the overall game dynamics. Now about the things that I may improve. - I think dedicate half of a video to the other games or the pre-release was too much. There are a lot of reviews online that do that, I don't know if it's because most viewers like that(in that case you should ignore this point), or because they want to make their videos longer to have more watch time with translate to more ads and more recommendations by the algorithm. - I think yelling may serve to give some emphasis, but yelling too much time just makes uncomfortable, like writing with upper case and bold font. - Nintendo doesn't make Paper Mario, the one who makes them is Intelligent System (there is one point during the video where it's implied that it was developed by the same people who made Breath of the Wild). - I think the explanaition about the timed attacks bonus not being high enough was too convoluted, it would have been easier to just say that back in TYD a successful button press could duplicate the damage done, and now it just mildly increase it, like from 20 to 25. Now about the game itself, I haven't played it yet, however something worth noting is that I recently played Paper Mario TYD, and I found the combat to be extreamly easy, and the whole progression system didn't seem well thought out: The fact that only one of the stats increases after each level up and the player chooses which one forces the designers to make enemies that can be defeatable with any of the stats with 0 increases, which in the end takes away some weight from the leveling up part; leveling up can make the game easier but it's not essential, if normal battles were skipabble, you could skip all of them and still defeat the bosses. I mention all of this because some of the issues that are bringed on many times with _modern Paper Mario_ were already there back then, so I think the dicusssion should be focused more in why they feel like an issue now but in the old games they blend pretty well. My guess is that TYD was constantly comming up with new moves that kept the combat fresh at all times and they were very careful to not make any of the new moves too overpowered to make all the others seem redundant (some of them required more skill with timing, some of them were very contextual to which enemies they could attack, and some of them required to switch companions).

You are talking about how in Origami King timing a button doesn't really impact the outcome of a battle. They did it once and cranked it to the maximum. I'm talking about the scissors boss fight.

I wish I could get back those 30 hours...

The battle system made me drop the game. Having to always solve a ring puzzle is annoying.

I liked Super Paper Mario. Change my mind.

I lost this game. I guess it was a blessing in disguise. I found the enemy encounters to be okay, but the bossses were damn near impossible with trying to get near the center. I couldn’t get past the first boss without a guide. I shouldn’t have to do that. Just give me the game, a quick tutorial, and then I will pick up the game easily. The paper Mario the thousand year door for the switch has me on a more positive note 😊

I think this video was very very well made. A lot of the edits were pretty funny, and I can see where your coming from with most of your opinions. Hating Olivia however? I don’t even know if I can trust someone who hates her. Like, how?

Origami king was fun at first and when i used a couple glitches to bring partners where they aren't supposed to be. Bobby to the yellow streamer and Prof Toad to the green streamer. I think I'll try to 100% complete the game, but the battles and re-visiting previous maps after beating the final boss aren't even fun anymore. But here's one thing i think everyone can agree with: Paper Mario's music is amazing

but toad is the best character
