Happy Mothers Day to your Mrs.
Thank you
I would’ve never guessed what those bulls are. I woulda said they all had a little charolais! They look similar to mine
I am sure that back multiple generations in the corriente blood lines, there was a Charolais or Murray Grey crossed in their genetics. I have a smoke colored corriente heifer in my herd, I am excited to see how she crosses with these bulls. The history of the corriente, longhorn, and criollo cattle breeds is pretty broad due to them being based on a more wild-type genetic base. There is a very good chance that there is anything from Charolais to Holstein in their genetic makeup.
(((((HUGS)))))
Thank you
I subscribed after talking to your lovely wife at the church dinner today!
Thank you! I would have more viewers if she was in charge!
I totally agree with you on the plastic top fuel filters, they have been nothing but a leaking mess for me. I went back to the metal top filters.
I can't get the darn things to work to save my life. I have really considered removing the fuel filter manager and putting a different filter in its place.
Nice truck
Thank you. It's a rough old rig, but it does its job just as good as any other truck. It looks like I might be doing some diagnostics on it soon.
That is a very nice bull ,good luck with him
Thank you! We are pretty excited to see how he does.
Just Sub'd enjoyed your video 👍
Thank you! Welcome to the channel.
nice Angus heifers ❤️ # the one which has upper leg fracture needs surgery # 🇵🇰
It has been healed for 2 years. It is an old injury and she can get around fine as is. She will end up being part of the food chain eventually.
Nice channel
Thank you!
Animals are well fed. Looking good
Steers and bulls are 100% grass fed.
What do round bales bring in your area and where are you? Ever thought of tedding your Sudan? Tedders are real cheap per acre .
In my area we are hot and dry most of the year. Tedders are not common at all. I am in NW Oklahoma. Small grain, grass, and sudan/feed hay is worth $100-150/ton.
Nice Stock ❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Why is it when it’s time to sell the cattle the yards are disgusting. Maintain your yards better as you won’t have problems
I assume you are speaking about salebarns. They handle 1000's of cattle in a short amount of time. Most sale barns do the best that they can when it comes to sanitation. With that said, there is always a risk of bringing home sickness when buying cattle from a sale barn. I try to sell the better end of my culls private treaty, which provides a little better quality to the next owner. I hope that explanation helps.
have you thought about running straight corriente cows with charolais bulls on them? ive got several colored corrientes with a black angus bull on them but i get alot of wild white coloring in the calves
I was partners with a neighbor that did that. It is a good business plan for a terminal operation. My only problem with that operation is that I have to buy replacement cattle every few years instead of raising my own. I butcher my steers and haven't been able to taste the spots or horns yet.
@@stkcattleandhay oh yea thats exactly right
@storminnormanz The goal with my herd is to maintain 25-50% corriente influence, 25-50% mashona, and 25-50% red angus. I really don't have a specific % I am shooting for, but my bulls are 50-100% red angus currently. I think a mix of roughly equal parts will make a high-quality animal that finishes well on grass in my environment.
Why do you run pcc bulls
True calving ease, 100% grass-fed genetics, and the cows are developed the same way I run my own cattle.
Thank you for sharing.🐂
Thanks for watching!
Good luck with the new to you swather. I hope that you get good weather to make your hay
Thank you!
No issue with drydown? I was told not to go that route (sorghum-sudan) unless baling and wrapping. Of course this is up here in the Iowa tundra.
It will take twice as long to dry this time of yr, and I am later than I intended. My old swather was breaking down every field, if not 2-3 times. This fall has been very dry. The forecast shows 70's and 80's with wind for the next week.
Never underestimate a horse's ability to wreck a pasture!
I agree, but I have had good luck putting horses in large areas. They typically find one area and graze it harder than the rest but I do move my horses to different pastures.
Good❤❤❤
Thank you
excellent heavy muscles bull # thats is the natural physiological effects of the testicles , a main male organ , which produces testosterone which builds muscles & maintains male charecteristics & pruduces sperms for reproduction # i will never ever castrate my calves # 👍👍 🇵🇰
Kit Pharo has a good selection of bulls that are developed the right way.
nice black & red Angus heifers , bulls , cows & calves # to prevent inbreeding U should allow mating diffferent bulls & keep record of daughters & sons with different bulls # at what weight & price do U sell heifers & bulls ???? 👍🇵🇰
I sell bulls every 3 yrs. This prevents most inbreeding as it takes 2 yrs from the time of conception to the time I turn bulls out on those heifers. By that time the sire of the heifers will be on his 3rd yr. I expect 80% of my cows to breed in the first 21 days. The % of breeding heifers in my herd is low so there likely will not be any in breeding. There are advantages to inbreeding, I am no expert on it but I do not believe I have had any negative outcomes from potential inbreeding.
I do not sell heifers unless they do not breed the first season, the ones that do not breed in my preferred season get bred for a different season and sold as bred heifers. My steers are sold as beef from 24-36 months of age.
Nice carry on with the good work all the best for you.
Thank you
Nice scenery
Thank you! It always looks better when the pastures are green!
My cows will make a road no matter how wide I make a lane.
I will end up with a couple of trails. My steers don't seem to do it nearly as bad as my cows. They only seem to trail in, but fan out and graze while leaving. I learned that wide lanes are important 100' might be overkill, but 12-20' caused problems.
Looks good. Will u be doing a feed test on that sorghum? Curious what it’ll be
Yes! I sent samples of it in on Thursday. I was going to shoot a video, but I was in a hurry. I will probably make a video taking samples of the next field and of the samples. This field has had issues of nitrates as high as 30,000 ppm.
My cover crop that mostly sorghum is 3 inches tall. Dried out
That's terrible. We had that happen to us the last 2 yrs due to drought.
@@stkcattleandhay yep. What do u do. Next year. Lol
After pretty much 3 failed crops/covers in a row, we have about the best crops I've seen in a while.
Never turn down a rain. But Those 1/2 tenth rains everyday are really annoying when making hay. Lol
1/2 of a tenth would be considered a heavy dew lol. We got 3/4" in that rain and 1.4 the next day.
@@stkcattleandhay that’s a monsoon for this area last few years
Where are you and what can you sell those rolls for?
NW Oklahoma. We are getting 120-150/ton currently.
What grass...
It's coming! We are in the short grass pararie area. At least I didn't have to build a barn to calve in though.
Hello from Morocco, my grandfather also has a lot of cows,
Awesome! What kind of cows does he have over there?
Have you figured out what’s going on?
That issue actually ended being a fuel pump wiring problem iirc.
