@@stephaniemitchard I don't have Instagram, in fact I don't have a mobile phone (I can't stand them) but I will always look out for your YT videos. I wear a coat I made out of sunburst granny squares which is packed with vibrant and sparkly colours. I'm always getting positive comments but the one that makes me laugh is "Can you make one for me?" and I tell them it will cost £1,800. It's a one off design with so much effort gone into it and some people don't realise. I do make gifts (blankets, cardigans etc) for my husband and friends which is always such a pleasure - just seeing their faces light up when they see it x

@@stephaniemitchard Oh I've met quite a few 'Dianes', do they think we can just knock up a garment in a few hours? I also have a fabulous tattoo of a ball of yarn with 2 crochet hooks going through it surrounded by the Pride colours (my son is gay and I've always supported LGBTQ+ community). My husband has given up trying to persuade me to get a mobile. Apparently I'm the most stubborn person he's ever met! Me and James (my husband) have just got in from work (both work at Asda) and we're not in again until Thursday so I'll be crocheting as from tonight. I may have to squeeze in some tedious housework (or I may not!). So lovely chatting with you, take care xxx

@@JamieV83 hi Jamie! I’m in Liverpool, UK! I don’t know if the Aldi’s in the US have the special buys? The middle isle’s of our aldis have these giant bins and every week the contents change! So the week I went in it was their craft event, then the following week they did something different, you could go in one week and buy yarn….then the next week there’ll be a lawnmower in the same place, it’s great! I was gutted coz apparently they had Lego single stem flowers and I went 2 aldis on the hunt and nothing! Special buys they are like gold dust!!!!! I’d try another Aldi just incase x

@stephaniemitchard no problem;) Yes I know exactly what you mean ! If I were to walk around with all my hooks and needles at all times, my bag would be much bigger than it needs and it would only cause some frustrations for no reason 😂 Regarding durability I'm thinking you may have two options: 1. you may be able to undo the stitches along the zipper when you think the cardboard starts changing shape/ thickness and replace the lining, 2. Take notes throughout the next few months on what could be improved (and what around you could be used as a good waterproof lining) so that once fall starts approaching (or whenever the rainiest season is for you) you can make a new "outdoors" case and consider this one as your indoor/ good weather case ;)

@ your giving me so many ideas for a follow up video!!!!!! Also where I am in the north of England it’s always rainy season 😂😂😂😂. I deffo could get the stitches open on this most deffo, I have lots of oil cloth so I was thinking that could work? I spilt a drink in my bag last year and it got all over my book, I did a walk through video of my crochet journal and you’ll see it’s held together with tape 😅😅 very make do and mend. Deffo think I need to waterproof this case 😅

@@stephaniemitchard it could work but I wouldn't be the best person to ask about this material ;) On the note of ideas: another option would also be doing the outer side in a much tighter gauge (1 to 2 hook sizes smaller, amigurumi style) to make the case itself more rigid, + potentially also starching it/ using some other "rigidifying" agent on the case

@@brunarotterdam642 thanks so much for taking the time to comment! The dye never came off on my clothes as all. What I would say is just make sure you thoroughly rinse it. But once it was all dry it was sound! Stuff inside was never ruined, I’ve spilt drinks and all sorts in this bag and the dyes never ran. Hope that helps xxxx

Hi Christine! It’s a very dark yellow, I did have a little filter on this video, but it was a very very dark yellow, I would say somewhere between a burnt orange and a yellow. I was a big shocked at the colour when I first did it, especially compared to the colour it originally was. This is a 17” laptop kanken. I bought it in 2018. Thanks for taking to the time to comment! I really need to do an update. I would say that wax wasn’t that great tbh. I had an incident a few months ago where my bag got drenched in a down pour and I’ve ended up investing in a cover for it. @@myname3305 hello, thank you so much for taking the time to comment, after doing this video I’ve had a lot of feedback about using wax for my bag, im going to be doing a follow up video, and I need to find a new type of waterproofing. I know that fjallraven state that the bags aren’t waterproof just shower proof but im determined. In all fairness though, the waxing did actually help for a while! If you have any suggestions on a different product let me know, I’ve got about 4 different products that I’m considering trying…I need to narrow it down

I’m going to try both, but all the research I’ve done on vinylon f (what the bags are made from) there’s nothing I can find about what will adhere to it. This is such a great idea though. I’m going to be freaking researching this!!!!! Xxxx
