O. Winston Link made a famous recording in 1957 of a steam train coming through Rural Retreat, Virginia as the nearby Lutheran Church was playing Christmas songs on the bells/ chimes. Then many years later in 1994 I recorded the last Norfolk Southern steam trip with engine 611 running through Rural Retreat during the night as well. In this video I have put the two events together with some awesome results! I do not claim to own the rights to the 1957 sound recording and also the black and white night photographs.
