We are the UK's only dedicated grand piano specialist. At our showroom at 32 Newman Street, we have an excellent selection of Steinway and Pleyel grand pianos.
Although we offer both modern and restored instruments, we have developed a particular interest in the complete rebuilding of Steinway and Pleyel grand pianos from the early twentieth century. We find that these instruments have a particularly fine tone and offer many possibilities to the pianist.

Steinway Model O grand piano - Rachmaninoff Opus 39, Number 5 Etude-Tableau in E flat minor
Welcome to Grand Passion Pianos!
In this video, enjoy a stirring performance of Rachmaninoff's Opus 39 No. 5 Etude-Tableau, expertly played by concert pianist Simone Tavoni on a 1926 Steinway Model O (5'10") which we have recently finished rebuilding. The works have incorporated genuine Steinway parts, including three new Steinway action rails, new Steinway levers and new Steinway hammer heads. In the interests of authenticity, this video and audio is unedited from the raw footage (other than to change camera angles), including the audio captured from professional microphones which is presented without reverb or any other editing.
Our pianos are known for their craftsmanship and rich, resonant sound, making them perfect for bringing out the nuances of Rachmaninoff's challenging and emotive compositions.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE SOUND!!
Beautiful.. was it made by humans? I'm very afraid of pianos that are cyborgs or otherwise demonic influences such as light reflections from steam pressed machinery etc.
A Steinway is a Steinway, and there's nothing like it in the world.
I believe that the Steinway is the most "copied", emulated and imitated piano in the world of pianos, which is also why it has become boring. The differences between the brands are now unfortunately subtleties, compared to the past. Then everyone has their sound preferences, and the Steinway is nothing special, at least for me, they have building the same models with similar geometries for over a century. The innovation is almost absent, and instead they (and not just them) go ahead with aggressive advertising and pervasive marketing. Steinway is also, if I'm not mistaken, publicly traded. All very far from art. It's the cynical business world.
So he has no more "mécanique à peigne" !?

Does it have the original soundboard or a new one?
This is not an easy Chopin etude but i don't agree that it's the hardest. Try Op 10 n 11. Nobody plays it because those who do cheat and if they didn't they couldn't fake it.

Grey for the whole instrument gives a sad impression. My humble opinion. Classical alliage of wood and golden colours are more appealing for me
Dear Julio. That is a completely valid opinion and I do not believe that such a specific looking instrument would appeal to everyone. We work with more traditional Pleyels too, but the brand always embraced contemporary design throughout its history. Pleyel was also one of the first brands to use solid colours on their pianos, so we hope this piano captures the avant-garde side of Pleyel, as well as the original Pleyel sound. Gorgeous instrument. And this warm tone for a GP of more than a century is stunning. A real marvel. I own a model F from 1938, but the sound is far from this one.
Thank you so much. We have refined our restoration technique over many years to bring our the dark and rich tone potential of the Pleyel grand piano. Of all the grand piano makers, Pleyel grand pianos are amongst the most cleverly constructed.

Sounds much better than some modern pianos
Yes these pianos sound better than any new piano. The sound board is aged to perfection. I like the sound of this piano but probably in person would be better to hear this piano. Excellent work thanks. 73
