      Hi, thanks for your question. I would highly advise against using perfume. If you don’t have alcohol, you can also just use a slight damp microfiber to clean off surface residue without disinfecting it. Hope this helps.

      @@rasslenys6525 I’m sorry, I don’t. I advised against using perfume because it could damage the material which it sounds like it did. DP as of 30May24, when I called, only took a moments with the serial number from my R to qualify, and it was 20% off new and 10% refurb...BUT I was told the upgrade discount program no longer stacks/applies off the "instant saving" sales price, but rather the full price...making the bodies I'm looking at (R6) actually cheaper to buy without the program given the current aggressive discounts. Rep was very clear that until recently it USED to double stack and this has been a recent change. I might call a second time to try my luck with somebody else just to double check but disappointing if so.

      Heya, thanks for your comment. I’ve been browsing the Canon Sub-Reddit and it’s been a very recent change unfortunately. About one/two weeks ago they changed their policy, but some people are able to stack it depending on the rep. It’s really unfortunate because you could get some really crazy deals directly from Canon like this. Hope you’ll be able to find someone willing to stack it, some of the deals they have right now are crazy!

    Great review. I’m still using my 13pm since launch and have switched to 14PM and 15pm and the way I use my phone I didn’t see any difference. For me it’s battery life and camera system and I think 13pm battery is just as good if not better than the other two. And the camera system on the 14PM isn’t even that much better and don’t need the 48mp and the 15pm new camera features I would never use. Plus it still have a physical sim slot for traveling. IMO 13pm is the best and value iPhone Apple has ever created. Before 13pm was the 11pm. I don’t think Apple will ever come out with a iPhone as good as the 13pm. Every iPhone that has come out since has terrible battery life. Some 14/15pm some users have BH already in the low 90s which is crazy. Mine is still at 87% after almost 3 years. Crazy.

      Thanks for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed the review! It’s really interesting you have a battery health of 87%, my 13 Pro Max has been at 87% for about 9 months now. There’s definitely something good about the battery in this phone, even coconut battery reports about 90% health after almost 700 cycles on my battery. I did a battery test the other day and managed to get 9 hours of screen on time out of my 13PM even without using any low power mode. Still a great phone today for sure!

      Mine was at 95 then iOS 17 happened and it kept on dropping but since it dropped to 89% it has dropped slowly now. How do you get coconut battery? From App Store? I don’t know if I’ll be able to make a video on it anytime soon, but I do have a text tutorial if this would help: I basically took measurements of the switch dock, used a white pillowcase and traced the measurements onto it, but gave it an extra 2cm on each side. I cut off where I traced, you should get a rectangle shape. Then I used a plastic sheet, you can find them at Walmart, Joaan’s, or Micheal’s. I used the same measurements from before, except I didn’t add an extra 2cm, and got a smaller rectangle from the plastic. I folded the pillowcase I cut onto the plastic and used a sewing machine to sew the edges, leaving the bottom open. Once the edges are sewn, you should be able to try it on your switch dock! If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out. I don’t always get notified of every comment unfortunately, but I’ll keep an eye out if you have any other questions! Thanks again! 👋😌

      Hi there, thanks for your comment! If you’re asking about software support for the 11PM, I believe it should have at least another major software update (iOS 18) this fall, however I can see Apple restricting some of the rumored AI features to the newer iPhones. @TheTCTech 26 днів тому

      Hi there, thanks for watching and for your comment! It really depends on your use case and how long you think you’re going to use your phone for. I would definitely check out battery health too since you’re buying used, and try to price the difference between the 13PM and 14P you’re comparing against. One area that the 13PM should be better is with battery since it is physically larger. I would argue that the camera changes aren’t that big of a deal, even with the 48MP sensor of the 14P. I still use my 13PM as my daily and don’t really see any reason to upgrade at the moment, so I think you’d be happy with it as well. Hope this helps you out some!

      Hey there! Thank you for your comment! I’ve been wearing the ultra 2 for sleep tracking now for about 6-7 months and I got used to it after about the first two weeks. It’s more bulky than the regular Apple Watch, mostly because of the bezel sticking up. The weight of it is perfectly fine though and I never felt like it was heavy or anything. I would say it’s fairly comfy for sleep tracking, but it takes a little bit to get used to the bezel rubbing against things like your blanket or pillow. Hope this helps!

    Great long term review. As an owner of a 2018 12.9 512GB and a 2018 11" 1TB model (plus a 2021 12.9 with M1) I can confim everything you said. Those 4GB RAM are the real bottleneck. For instance Davinci Resolve crashes often with the 4GB model while it works fine with 6. The 1TB version also reloads way less, and it would be virtually as good as the M1 if it had external monitor support. A couple of things to note vs the M1 is that the 2018 is thinner and lighter, therefore nicer to hold but that the audio in the M1 is much fuller and louder (maybe due to the thicker size or to different speakers, I don't know). The 2018 was barely louder then my old 2015 pro (now sold), but the M1 is noticeably louder (I guess the 11" model did not change instead). Personally I still keep the 2018 because I like to have one with a screen protector for writing, drawing and no reflections, and one without for better image (screen is much nicer without). Maybe the 2024 one will be thinner etc, but personnally I am not buying another one until Apple makes a different size (larger)

      Hey there! Thanks a lot for watching and for your comment, I appreciate it c: It’s really frustrating because the 2018 iPad Pro is actually a fantastic device that gets bottlenecked by a problem Apple continues to perpetuate out of greed imo. It’s the same issue we see with each the base model MacBook Air having 8gbs of ram which is pretty inexcusable in 2024. It’s more infuriating considering the 6GBs of ram that the 1TB model gets often proves that having 4 is simply not enough to keep up today with more “professional” tasks. This video took about 6 times to export until I could find a setting that would work without running out of ram. Ended up being 1080P at 30mbps which wasn’t the ideal export settings I was hoping for. It’s interesting you mentioned the speakers were barely louder than the 2015 pro though, I would have thought them to be much better. I came from the smaller iPad pros, the 10.5 and 9.7, so I was used to the smaller speakers too, but the 2018 pro speakers have definitely been some of the best I’ve used on a tablet, so far. It makes sense the newer iPad pros with the thicker design though would allow for a much better speaker experience. Overall though, I’m glad I’m not the only one who shares the experience with the ram issues the 2018 iPad pros have. It’s just really sad considering how good they actually still are today, but I think the newer iPad pros now with the M series chips and starting with 8GBs of ram standard will hold up infinitely better.

    • @_Digitalguy
      @_Digitalguy 2 місяці тому

      @@TheTCTech Yeah I have the 9.7 too (still, could not sell it because of a screen issue) and the 12.9 is definitely louder, while the difference with the 10.5 and 11 is minimal (I have them all). You said in the video that iPadOS cannot take advantage of M1/M2 and yes CPU is overkill, but RAM is not, so in a way M1/2 are now necessary.... If this A12X had 8GB RAM there would be little need for M1 and it could run an external monitor with 8 apps with no issues. Fortunately with M series now iPads air and pro are much more future proof because of RAM and can be perfectly fine till the last supported OS and even beyond (at that point only battery could be the bottleneck, with Apple refusing to service it most of the time)

    • @TheTCTech
      @TheTCTech 2 місяці тому

      @@_Digitalguy yes, you pretty much touched all the points and feelings I have about the iPad Pro and its current OS situation with the ram it has. Obviously the chipsets are overkill for what the iPad is, so I really believe they need to make big moves to make iPadOS just as good as the chipsets they’re using now. The extra ram and speed will definitely make a difference in the M1 and M2 iPad pros for sure, and especially having that amount of ram. Even the iPhone 15 Pro finally switched to 8gbs this year, so I think we’re (hopefully) going to start to see 8gbs as the minimum for their “pro” mobile devices and tablets which should make a huge difference for longevity and support. As for battery, that’s one area that’ll be interesting to see as these devices become obsolete by apple’s standards. I had the battery replaced on the 9.7” pro back in 2021 by Apple and they just switch the whole device. Apparently if they don’t have the exact spec of your device in stock though, they sometimes switch it with the next generation model, so that could be a route they take with these iPads battery replacements possibly.

      Hi! Thanks for your comment. In my usage, I haven’t had any problems with lines on any of my iPhone screens, including my 13PM. The chances of getting lines on the display goes up exponentially with dropping the phone and exposing to extreme heat or water, so I would keep the phone in a case. I’ve used the 13 Pro Max in extreme heat though (120+ °F) and haven’t had any issues other than the screen dimming since the phone was getting too hot. Hope this helps!

      Do you know what could have caused the scuffs? I personally don’t have scuffs, but if it’s dirt, it should come off with the method I showed here. If it’s scuffs like scratches, you might be out of luck unfortunately :(. Best suggestion would be a magic eraser or something that is slightly abrasive to “sand down” the scratches if they are deep, but even then this is a bit of a dangerous approach as it might damage the soft touch finish they apply to the controllers.

      Hi, thanks for your comment! Just wanted to say that night mode sorta works in a hacky way in the 2x mode because it’s actually a digital crop from the 1x lens in order to use night mode. You can actually test this by blocking the telephoto camera and taking a night mode photo at 2x. It will still take the photo because it’s using the 1x and up scaling a digital crop. Apple changes the EXIF data to make it appear that it uses the 2x camera, but it is actually using the 1x. Hope this helps! :)

      Hey there, thanks for the question. There’s a couple leather cleaners I like, I use the Coach one as well as the chemical guys leather cleaner. The Coach one is more liquidly while the chemical guys comes in a spray. I usually follow up with a conditioner as added protection, since it contains vitamin E and moisturizers for the leather to keep it supple. It’s hard to recommend not to do a leather cleaner and conditioner since you run the risk of damaging the leather using something not made for leather specifically (such as all purpose cleaners). You could also try Meguiars, their products are pretty good. Leather honey is another brand that sells cleaner and conditioner that doesn’t contain harsh chemicals if that’s something you’re interested in. Hope this helps!

    The Shine (or Sheen) on the surrounding bezel & the protruding guard around the Crown & Side button (for me anyway) adds some polish making it look nicer and I appreciate Apple doing this! I came from the 40mm Series 6, but I still like the bigger size and I don't find it too big for my small wrist-size, or too heavy either for that matter - its actually Lighter than the Casio Edifice watch I have so its more comfortable. Fair enough! I just felt like having polished chamfered edges on the bezel of the ultra was a bit of an odd choice since it takes the brunt of the hits as a protective guard for the display. Although it could just be from the process of shaving the titanium that causes that polished edge as well. The lightness of the ultra is surprising honestly! But I think the titanium does a really great job of having such a light weight for the size of the watch for sure. Glad to hear you like your trail loop!

      Hey there, thanks for your comment! I believe the new modern buckle bands are the fine woven material correct? From what I’ve seen online for a while now, unfortunately the fine woven material seems to be the least resistant material Apple has used on any of their accessories. :( I would be hesitant using anything like water or soap directly or anything hard that might scratch or damage the micro-twill. Here is what apple’s website states on how to clean fine woven material: “To clean your FineWoven iPhone case or reduce the appearance of scratches, first remove your iPhone from the case. In a clean container, mix 1 tsp. (5 mL) of liquid laundry detergent into 1 cup (250 mL) of water. Dip a lint-free cloth into the soapy water solution, wring it out slightly, and rub the cloth on the case surfaces gently for 1 minute. Wipe the case clean with a separate cloth that's slightly dampened with fresh water. Dry the case with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth, making sure to remove any excess moisture. The material may look different and show wear over time as the fibers get compressed with normal use. Some scratches may diminish over time.” Hope this helps you out if you decide to try it!

      I have a 180mm wrist and the large size alpine loop goes almost all the way around, with around 4 loops space left. For me, that was perfect since it won’t have the hook on the bottom where it can scratching things if your wrist is resting on a surface. So I think the large would fit you perfectly. The alpine loop can scratch the watch if you’re not careful when taking off the watch, the hook can potentially hit the display or titanium and leave a mark. Personally this hasn’t been an issue for me, but I’m careful when removing the watch from my wrist as well.
