Playing as Italy i can destroy every country navy. You can build really strong fleet with this country and Benito will be happy for you. Also Italy has very strong focus tree for navy, which is really insane and helpful. Of course dont forget about naval bombers which make big difference between winning and losing. Japan navy would be real threat for everyone, but usually all your construction goes for military factories in 1936-1939, because you have big war with China. If you can capitulate China until 1938 you have all opportunities to dominate the sea.

I wish I liked the navy in HOI4. I usually just steal a major's navy in a peace treaty and use that for naval supremacy and ignore it completely otherwise.

I know this is a video made over a year ago. Nonetheless, I have an inquiry. Do you think the overperformance of nightbombing could be related to your testing happening in winter? I am reasonably certain that at least for land combat Paradox actually has different daylight hours (i.e. in europe land night attack boni are worth less in summer). I may tske saturday and do a daylight vs nighttime bombing test in summer and winter. Perhaps the "two air ticks at day, one at night" thing is not as true as it always was held to be.

I had to watch this video because I'm suffering from success, lmao, I'm new, and I dominated Poland, Britain, and France; I then decide to attack Spain because I'm bored, and I had a logistical nightmare, with 100 divisions in that narrow a space.

bombers will never be cheap, but the pain you can cause is extreme and can outright allow the Chinese ai to beat competent Japan players if they cannot stop your bombers

Can someone tell me if I should have separate tank and motorized divisions in the same army? Or just do tank divisions with motorized? I find motorized divisions without tanks just burn through men and equipment without yielding positive results

It’s hard to play around with different division templates when I usually only have enough points for one solid division, so I always get stuck doing the usual infantry/2. Artillery for 20 combat width.

For scout planes, 2 extra fuel tanks usually works better than just 1. As one reason, with 2 extra fuel tanks instead of just 1 extra fuel tank, you have more freedom to choose from a well supplied airfield. A poorly supplied airfield results in airplanes flying from it suffering from reduced mission efficiency. As another reason, large martime airzones like the Western Approaches airzone to the west of the island of Great Britain often need the extra range provided by a second extra fuel tank in order to have an improved percentage of coverage.

What about using air attack weapons on CAS? So a few bomb base and some machine guns? Not as much ground attack, but more damage to fighters. Or maybe it's better to just have dedicated fighters.

As UK, you start with 240 interwar tactical bombers. These can be cheaply refit as scout planes with extra fuel tanks and should give you enough for the whole war using only 1 factory for a few years. Replace the bomb slot with the camera and put as many fuel tanks as an level 1 engine can support!

Always choose the best in everything because 70 years later games like war thunder will make you regret not making best quality which will get matched against 21st century tech

I would not say the "cheap/high ground attack CAS" meta is busted at all, atleast not in MP where people will stop trading if their fighters are losing in a zone. Against AI or in a test scenario sure, but that's not how a decent player will micro their planes.
