yoooo that’s a great collection. i’m 20 years old and a girl trying to get back into gaming 🤣. my first handheld gaming experience had to be with my mom’s purple transparent game boy color 🤣 i remember sitting in this tree and kids coming over to see what i was doing i still have the gameboy and i was bored last year so i decided to fix it because the start button wasn’t working, i just took it apart and cleaned it. i also grew up with a ds lite and i LOVED THAT CONSOLE SO MUCH me and my sister were so obsessed it was so fun how you could play gameboy advance games and ds games i loved kirby and i was a pokemon hater back in the day ( i love pokemon now tho) i was like in first grade tho 😭 i loved mario games and plants vs zombies. i still have all my games and my sister has the console. then when i was in middle school 7th grade i asked my parents for a 2Ds xl for my birthday and they got me it along with pokemon sun and pokemon Y. these were my first pokemon games because i started to get into pokemon when i was in 6th grade and collected cards and traded with people. i didn’t really use the console that much because when i got into 9th grade i got the nintendo switch with mario kart 8 and it was fun but i was really starting to fall off gaming so i never really used it that much and my friend who is my childhood friend but he’s like 4 years younger than me he got a nintendo switch too so then he came over to my house and we both started playing fortnite together and were so good at it, and then BOOM 2020 struck and i spent my 10th grade just inside my house with no school it felt like a super long summer and me and that friend just played fortnite and pokemon sword the WHOLE time 🤣 it was fun but he also had a little brother and he got a switch lite, so all 3 of us would play fortnite. and so many things happened to my life since then that i really felt so on 1hp everyday. and i left gaming. so now i just bought a pokemon x and y edition of the 3DS LL ( the blue one) and it was so mint condition liek not even the little feet at the bottom were scratched. and it is also a japanese version like yours so i decided i want to mod it and i’ve been watching a lot of videos and i stumbled into yours 🤣 my friend told me i should have just gotten a steam deck and idk i remember thinking about it back then but i ain’t really interested that much, i do want to get a playstation portal because i own so many games on my ps5. so its been fun trying to get back into gaming but so far i just keep buying so many games that are on sale and never play them 😭 i’ve only been playing minecraft with some friends on a realm im paying for, which is one of the best worlds i’ve ever spawned in its so beautiful. if this story was long you should hear my tv console collection story 😭 i have way too many of those i love collecting special edition consoles, my room hella colorful.

GTA 6 is gonna be THE game this year I really think it's gonna be impressive and of course like the biggest thing ever. I'm also waiting for Death Stranding 2 and more info about the other Kojima Production games. If there's a new Zelda with the Switch 2 it would be crazy but I don't think so cause it too soon. They're probably gonna do an open world Mario like BotW

I don't understand the people who were/are losing their shit over that very brief Switch 2 trailer, not only does it show us little we didn't already know, it really didn't show us much at all, we still don't have official word of major system features (other thank backward compatibility), system specs or major first/third party releases. A big yawnfest.

If you like visual novels or want to try, I HIGHLY Recommend reading Ryukishi07. He wrote Umineko and Higurashi and they’ve been the best visual novels I’ve ever read. Umineko has an amazing mystery too. So I’m super excited for Silent Hill F.

PLEASE we need more special edition consoles!! Although the switch 2 release was underwhelming Im very excited at the potential for new Nintendo games, they've been quiet for way too long. Also I really need to binge the BioShock games I know so much about them but haven't actually made my way through myself

I think you’re sleeping on PlayStation a bit. They already have the personalization and a bit of the innovation you’re asking for. As far as personalization while they don’t have a lot of limited full consoles they make replaceable covers. The white ones just pop off and PlayStation offers several fun colors and 3rd party makers offer every other one. So a PlayStation can be whatever color you want and you can change again at anytime without having to buy a whole new console. Then innovation wise it really comes down to their controller. When utilized properly it truly is “next gen” and pretty sweet. Especially when playing something like last year’s game of the year Astro Bot. Another way PlayStation is innovating.

My handheld console timeline: 1. First was my GBA that I played with as a kid. I totally lost track of where it is but I assume it is still somewhere in my childhood home. It was one of those light glacier blue colored ones that you could kinda see through. 2. A white DS lite. Probably my most played handheld console overall, I played it probably almost every day during my middle school years. I still have it and it works, but the bottom screen is super scratched. 3. A red 3DS. I didn't play with it as frequently as the DS lite but it was my main handheld console during my high school years and shortly after. It still works and is in pretty good shape. 4. A turquoise Switch lite. This is the main handheld console I play now as an almost 30 year old adult. I hope the Switch 2 comes out before my 30th birthday, that'd be a great 30th birthday present!

In 2025 I would like to see more game series try different styles of games in their genre (example: turn based rpg, to tactics rpg, to labyrinth rpg, to action rpg, etc.). When Pokémon (known for rpg's) made Pokken Tournament (a fighting game) I thought more game series would try to produce different genres of games, but it seems only big franchises like Mario and Zelda, with huge fan bases, can afford to experiment these days. On the other hand, even playing it safe can hurt a fairly big game series as well. Fire Emblem Warriors being an action game for the 3DS was an innovation upon its traditional tactics gameplay, and was appreciated. When the 'Warriors' games were brought to the Switch they appeared to be merely ported, and were a disappointment. Zelda's Warrior game had full action games to fall back (old and new), and Fire Emblem didn't, which makes me believe we won't see a real FE action game any time soon (Three Houses and Engages removal of permadeath and additional rewind function also weren't selling points to retreating fans). 14:39 When future gamers look back on the negative effects of gaming on the environment, which do you think they will feel was worst: physical retro games of the past being so indestructible they could be retrieved from landfills decades later and still work (like ET for the Atari), or current gen games implementing NFT's as microtransactions that consume excessive energy to keep the block chain algorithm working? (not gunna put anybody on blast for this one 😁)

that switch 2 design screamed 'we wanna look like the steam deck and legion go' its not bad but i dont think nintendo fans pick up their hardware for that. its supposed to be the colorful option. as far as my own wishes for gaming, with monster hunter wilds coming out. Id like another 'portable' entry. like another monster hunter rise thats not graphically demanding and can be played on the switch or the deck .
