Attempting to revive the hidden art of Rocket League. Bridging the gap between professional play and the public. Formerly Sum1strange, rebranded into an identity that more fits my real name, Lucien Oros, The Bringer of Golden Light.
Ranked has NEVER been this bad in my 9 years of playing [FIXED AUDIO]
REPOSTING because after a million computer wipes every time i have to get used to a new kind of workflow and make small editing mistakes such as leaving duplicate audio tracks which led to an unclean audio for Rocket League. Forgive the spam. Much love peeps

Me and my irl friend were champ 1 and would only cue with each other. A few months ago we stopped being friends due to a few different reasons, which leaves me to solo cue. I have literally not been in champ since then and am currently in D2 because it is so impossible to do anything with a random teammate. Ill look up there playtime after the game and then instantly know why they have 4k hours and are still diamond.
People who duo cue in 3’s all have smooth brains, like are you too dumb to see that there’s a 2v2 game mode? Or do you just enjoy cutting off your solo cue teammate for 5 minutes, and eventually losing because you’re actively trying to not play as a team?
No but it's your fault because you couldnt triple flip reset and outplay the 3v1 they just put you in bro XD
blazerl mentioned 🥳🥳
this is comical💀
He is doing shit but everyone makes mistakes, and what's the point of telling him? you know he won't take it well and he's gonna be tilted. In this game you can't just say to people how they should play and don't expect them to be toxic in return, because you're toxic as well even if it's not your intention
@@MsGerrior communicating to not turn in when the player KNOWS it’s an awkward turn is NOT toxic. How they respond is their problem, but again, me saying “please don’t cut in there” and to be responded to 99% of the time with poor toxicity when I’m simply communicating is still an issue.
@@MsGerrior not only that, but communicating, “hey, you should have a third man, making that turn in is really weird. Don’t do that.” is extremely helpful when you’re trying to rank up. Any person with assemblance of an IQ would wonder why it is that he thinks that certain way. If there’s something within that point of you that is being communicated that you can indoctrinate into your own reasoning, then that means that you can learn and grow from that information, whilst not indoctrinating 100% of the information. You just take what resonates with you and what doesn’t. That’s why people go to coaches when they are confused on certain situations. It’s why experts exist. That’s why people tell others why they do what they do. And yes, I am beating a brick against the wall. 99% of these players are completely immature. They haven’t played sports. So communicating anything is seen as a giant offense. I’m not a soyboy. And I understand enough about the game did not give a fuck if somebody is offended when I communicate something very nicely because I know I can also steer that person in the right direction. If somebody did something egregiously wrong, I will communicate. It’s how we learn.
@@TheGoldenLight11 You don't give a fuck but you make a video to complain about it? Why complain about a problem that you are aware of and can avoid ? See how pro players never tell their m8 how they should play even if they make mistakes, after all these games played they know that is not how they will rise in rank nor how their m8 will improve
I think I get it. At 5:06 he was just making sure that he left that midboost so that the opponents could keep applying pressure, and being a considerate young gentleman and taking their back boost while taking himself completely out of the play was his plan, even though every opponent was on his side of the field because he wanted to give them a chance (extreme sarcasm) yeah that dude was a bot lol.
@@drakleosd7568 yeah the logic doesn’t add up but I’m trying to follow along with what you’re saying
ranked currently is so horrendous, youre not alone on that one <3
so you are telling me.. i see ball .. i hit ball.. is not the way
Need you to comment more so your editing can rub off on me LOL And yes. There's TONS of strategy involved. The general playerbase of Free-2-play players that now inflate the higher level ranks have absolutely zero idea. Biggest difference comes when you play dedicated tournament players vs ranked players. Dedicated tournament players have big brains. Maybe not mechanically amazing but they play very solid (and it's FAR more fun to play a game with people that are generally consistent).
@@ROCKETLEAGUE-FX put the sub down. Got some cool stuff coming. It’ll be in a few months though. Pc died today. Gonna start workin soon at a new spot. New pc in a few months here.
Hey golden, I think it would be nice for a new in depth rotations vid. I know that theres the old proguides vid thats on your old channel (sum1strange), but to new viewers they could have a hard time finding that. You prob direct them towards that vid if they ask in comments, which is fine. I think it would be nice to like *update* it, even though ik its not outdated cuz everything in that proguides vid is not much different if at all. Awesome video as always, I find you entertaining with your energy. Much love and take care
I feel you. 2s is babysitting your teammate for 5 minutes. 3s is chaos. 1s gets boring for me. I just end up doing something else lol.

yes bro this video is my ranked career. my teammates are ALIEN SPECIMENS 😭
you have to protect as many whiffs that your teammates make as possible. Never assume they know what they're doing. (im not saying you should ball chase, im saying you should let your teammates be dumb and protect their stupidity. im also not saying you should sit in net the whole game.)
Yeah I get you totally. Shouldnt ball chase but need to be relevant in the play but also carry his weight if necessary. It's a delicate balance. It's very very difficult.
I try to trust my random until they give me reason not to.
What is that decal
I'll look again and respond back.. it's a black market decal
slipstream I think?

That's what im sayin
Rocket league coaches calling other rocket league coaches nerds. Blissful irony
A competitive player for nearly a decade, who lived near the pro scene tells you what coaching content is missing AND THEN GIVES YOU great advice on how to rotate back in 2s. It's not Blissful Irony.

AppJack hot take.. They had better structure with Noly last year imo, even if FK is more talented. Btw If you check RLesports subreddit GenG's coach Chrome made a comment that GenG had disagreements on their playstyle. It shows with how much they were overlapping responsibilities and occupying the same positions. Firstkillers previous teams like Faze had similar issues. I think both FK and AppJack are extremely aggressive players that like to be ahead of the play looking for demos, redirects, cutting rotations. It made life very hard for Chronic who was left isolated and put in 2v1 dilemmas. Also I agree with the comments about vision. Just ball cam off or flick the camera look down when the ball is high in the air. Will tell you if there's a threat and if you need to go up immediately, or if you can take time. People throw the ball away so much when there's no one pressuring.
So I had a thought. (Don't tell my wife, she still believes I'm incapable of thinking) I know your primary goal is to teach quantifiable gameplay improvement and improve the overall community of RL. What if you did a series on coaching streamers?!? I used to watch Tena, and I've been watching JamacianCoconut recently because he's slightly higher ranked. I thought I could learn a little more from Coconut, but all I've seen has just been better mechanics. One thing I have noticed is that Coconut focuses too much on getting boost, and not paying attention to the situation if his teammate(s) need boost. Tena does seem a little more conscious and aware of those situations. Do you think streamers would be open to your gameplay style and coaching? I feel if streamers could adopt your play style, they would see immediate results. This would get your system more exposure, and then on your way to fixing the RL community!
Your identity here is safe so long as I dont know who your wife is >:D I've thought about doing that, but slightly afraid of some of the backlash since reviewing streamers and critiquing their game and how they play is EXTREMELY polarizing. On top of that, although i've found my results to be very much vetted YEARS prior to finally releasing my coaching information on UA-cam, people may not see it that way. I don't want to create slander, but parody is also legal. And the community is VERY soft here in the rocket league scene. I've been attacked more than a few times for telling a notable figure they're wrong. The fanbase takes the critique as though I'm personally robbing them of their own value. As if my opinion has any weight on who they are as a person. So I've thought about it. I don't mind it honestly. My prior channel to this I roasted streamers and content creators. I still mention this in my coaching sessions and various other recourses about how content creators are 'creating content' but dont actually have any information that I found is fundamentally correct. Notable figures being SpookLuke, Virge, Wayton Pilkin, and a few others. I'll refer back to your comment another time as well and re-read. I think I honestly should do a review.
Idk its kind of cringe, you wont scrim them
You rite
Thats my every game LMAO!! Just braindead mates that bang it and think they are the zen of the team.
nice vid - get some sleep

14:50 I disagree with the thought that you should have gone wider there. In that position specifically, the orange team majorly screwed up their rotation and put all 3 of them on top of each other. Add on top of that the fact that there is no potential for a powerful clear out from them that you need to respect. All 3 players from orange were in that corner and backwards. (13:45) Maybe you needed to be slightly further just to get a better approach angle, but I think that playing as close as you did is fine because it doesn't give them any space and there is no risk of counter attack from that position. I think that the main point of improvement in that play is more the on-ball play. If you are going to go for a shot, you should have gone a little wider to get a better angle, something in between where you were and what you said that you should do. But if you are going for something more controlled like a soft touch into a dunk, a backboard reset or even getting the reset and playing it more as a fake into either a 50 or a pinch, then the approach that you took is fine. tldr; either go slightly wider for shot or play close and go for a more controlled play
Game 2 was awesome lol
I'm glad it graced your eyes
