Doesn't matter what's in it, as long as it's on the road moving. I used to think that Ford in Ford's, etc when I was a lot younger. But now I am older and as long as it's moving, who cares what's in it.

It seems that way now… until brake lines need to get made, full stainless steel exhaust needs to get TIG welded, cutting the rear frame rails to mount the tank inside, making a transmission hump etc etc … that’s what makes the difference 👍🏽

I have to check that out… sounds like the the header isn’t much of a restrictor

That isn't a magneto. Those are Mallory dual point distributors.

​​@@calirodI'm pretty sure that coil and points are supposed to have no more than 9v going to it. GM didn't use ballast resistors. If that was in a vehicle it would have what they call a low tension wire, usually it's a yellow, or green wire. That wire has a lot of resistance, cutting the 12v battery voltage down to between 7v-9v. Otherwise it will burn out the coil and or points. That could be the reason for the smoke. I would get the instructions for that distributor & coil. Looks like it's a Mallory dual point distributor. Is it? I've used one in the past in a 70 Olsmobile Vista Cruiser Wagon & it's worked pretty good.
