I Probably Shouldn’t Buy This Lofi Tape Pedal but…
Welcome to All Gassed Up, the game show where I try to convince myself not to buy a new piece of gear (or maybe it's the other way around.) In this episode I'm looking at the Chase Bliss Generation Loss Mk II lofi tape effect guitar pedal. Will I give into the G.A.S. and buy it? Let's find out.

OP-XY Is there anything else like it?
Переглядів 17 тис.Місяць тому
The electronic music making world is divided over the new Teenage Engineering OP-XY, especially about its price. I think we really need to examine what other products (if any) are in the same category, and see if the OP-XY offers something significantly better. Join me on this LFO Voyage as we explore the world of portable synth, sequencer, samplers.
PolyBrute 12 Generates Ambient Music (All On Its Own)
Переглядів 3,8 тис.Місяць тому
This is a custom patch I designed for the PolyBrute 12 analog synthesizer. It utilizes the “slewed random” waveforms of LFO 1 and 2 to modulate the pitch of VCO 1 and 2, thereby generating the melody. As much as I enjoy playing this synth, it’s equally fascinating to make it play on its own.
Echo's Dream Sound on the PolyBrute 12 Synthesizer
Переглядів 2,4 тис.Місяць тому
Echo's Dream is a custom patch I created inspired by @Vickorftron. Most of the musical composition also comes from Vic. It was a fun challenge to see if I could make something similar to the sound he made on the Moog Muse. Check Vic's Moog Muse Patch Here: ua-cam.com/video/A_zX4gxI4i4/v-deo.htmlsi=gOy1rF0Z5HZ660da @Vickorftron- @EchoKraft @synthsamuraiproductions
There's NO comparison here. Moog Muse vs. PolyBrute 12
Переглядів 12 тис.Місяць тому
Watch this video to the end and you'll see that there's no comparison being made here between the Moog Muse and the Poly Brute 12. It's all about the PolyBrute 12. Shoutout to @Vickorftron who made some amazing patches for the Moog Muse. It inspired me to try to recreate them on the PolyBrute. I'm relatively new to sound design but I think I got close to it. Check out his video here: ua-cam.com...
Morphing Analog Brass Sounds on PolyBrute 12
Переглядів 992Місяць тому
This is a custom patch I designed on the PolyBrute 12. It morphs from a big majestic saw wave to a bright & creamy brass. The ability to morph between the 2 different side of a patch really makes the PolyBrute special, and an amazing synth for expressive live performance.
Soft Warm Flute Sounds on the PolyBrute 12
Переглядів 1,2 тис.2 місяці тому
This is a custom patch I designed on the PolyBrute 12. It uses the resonance of the Steiner-Parker filter as the main tone, accompanied by a triangle wave to add depth and body to the sound. What really brings it all together and makes it sound alive is the modulation, which is something that the PolyBrute excels at.
A Warm & Nostalgic Electric Piano Sound | PolyBrute 12 Patch
Переглядів 8902 місяці тому
This is a custom patch I designed on the PolyBrute 12. It starts of as a warm and clean Wurlitzer style electric piano and then goes lofi with distortion and tape wobble. There's a nice little accent note introduced through the aftertouch, which is controlling the morph knob.
This PolyBrute 12 Blade Runner Synth Patch is AMAZING!

This amazing patch was made by @CreativeSpiral Check out his video here: ua-cam.com/video/V9fRryafgKU/v-deo.html You can download this patch for free from his site: www.presetpatch.com/user/creativespiral Everything you hear is from the PolyBrute 12. No external effects. The deluge is being used to sequence the PB12 through midi.

OP-XY is the only game in town for the sequencer component tricks and the performance effect tricks. OP-1 is the only game in town for the analog tape simulation. Nobody else has these things, not sure why.

This is such an amazing sound. I”m trying to create something similar on my PolyBrute. However, I don’t get the PB to generate a new pattern every loop. How do you make those random notes that make up the melody? I just get to repeating the same notes over and over. I’d love a step by step tutorial for this :D

    • @LFOVoyager
      @LFOVoyager 4 дні тому

I’m using the slewed random waveform on LFO 1 & 2 to modulate the pitch. It sounds like your LFO waveform might not be set to random if it’s repeating the same notes every time.

This is so well presented and such good content. I am pretty obsessed with op xy but the deluge seems to be a good addition lol. Op xy is a lot more portable, so it will still be a better travel companion. But I love the large pad grid on the deluge to make a the song a lot more visible. Can’t wait to try it. Thanks for creating this awesome and very entertaining video. Love your sense of humor.

With the analog dry through and a bit of WOW, this makes an incredible stereo chorus pedal. Unfortunately, I’ve had to get rid of a bunch of gear and the resale value of this pedal meant this had to go.

On TE there is always the price discussion wich is due to the high quality unique small design. Op1, and then Op1-field ( I had 2) is so brillant. Tx6, OB4 , all unique . OB-4… did you try ? All brilliants. OPZ was something magic and so innovative on a remote TV form . I have no doubt OPxy will find the way as it is a solide opZ . Deluge is for sure something very very impressive ( I have one) , more pro, and far more intelligent, and open, but honestly small is beautiful here with XY. They are not enemy, they are friends. ( at least at home) just look at how many jacks you have plug on a Deluge…. so impressive , modular… it control also my matriarch mood…and these colors… guys more there is choice, more it is fun.
