Great workshop!
Loved this workshop. I learned so much 🙌🏽🌟🙌🏽🌟🙌🏽🌟
I would pitch this as a proof of concept tv series to tubi. They need content over there.
We have thought about a second short
This was great! Thanks for doing this!
Hey thanks bud, my son is just starting out doing PA work and I’m gonna put together a kit for him as a gift. Any other advice for a young man starting out in the industry?
Find a community and keep showing up. Being top of mind is key. Watch my 'How to get into filmmaking' video
@@IndieFilmHub Thank you
Chad’s also an all around good guy. Thankful to have met. Enjoyed hearing his journey. Keep push’n guys!
Thanks for this. You can use the Canon 35mm f2.8 prime STM with the Mkii’s face detect. Very sharp lens. It won’t transform 2014 AF to match today’s Sony AF, but will allow you to get off center at a great focal length for interviews and other uses that don’t have fast movement. Just be aware it can take a few seconds to lock on to a face that moves into frame after being focused on a background, then it locks on the face pretty good.
Lenses that support face detection AF: - EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM - EF-S 55-250mm F4-5.6 IS STM * - EF-S 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 IS STM * - EF-S 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 IS STM * - EF-S 10-18mm F4.5-5.6 IS STM * -EF-S 35mm F2.8 STM Micro Prime

This is a great video, thanks!
where can we find they profiles or contact?
the guy with the checkered-pattern collar shirt sounds like Liam Neeson from Taken
these guys are not grips but glad you all got some information.
Please elaborate..

I'm loving the format of these podcasts! It's so nice to just listen to a genuine conversation that isn't scripted or overly edited.
This was a really good one! Classes on the business/finance side of things are always great!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'd be interested in a video on c100 and ronin gimbals. Which ronin? Is S or RS, M ok? Mounting looks tricky
I have tried it with my Ronin S. It can do it with a small lens but is very tricky and not advised. We did regularly use this with the Ronin M though. But then it becomes cumbersome. We ended up just using the EOS R on the Ronin S since it was faster and lighter.
@@IndieFilmHub i have bought some IS lenses. Gonna initially test handle holding the c100 with a wide-ish lens using the IS
2024 calling. You don't mention lenses... a massive pro is the low cost and excellent availability of high quality EF mount lenses. R mount lenses are taking over which has a knock down effect on the prices of EF and EF-S glass. You can get a pro grade f2.8 or f4 L IS image stabilisation canon zoom for less than 300eurobucks.😮
That's a good point.
thanks for this
thank you so much for this
This is so good. Shot angles, framing, color and especially audio. What lenses were used with the ursa
lenses are mentioned in the title
thank you so much for publishing this!
great video !
great video ! I really enjoy this youtube channel
great workshop ! very insightful. Thank you very much for sharing. I would love to see more videos of this sort .
That analogy between information and food was so good!
Hello, this was a great class to video and post, thanks. I'm currently a film student that needs serious gaffer training. All the talk about old fixture sources and comparison to new fixtures is great for me because I have some some history with old theater PAR-64 tungsten lighting. In future video classes could you repeat the students questions or mic the students? Thanks
Yes will do. Glad you liked it.
At the end of the day, it is all about the imagery. IF it still rocks, it's still awesome
How to shoot video that doesn’t suck. (Insert background noise and microphone feedback) lost me @ 0:07.
Yeah sorry. This was an old series I was trying to do and my thought was to gradually make the videos better as we went through the chapters. Realized later how dumb that was.
Not sure why this was recommended to me, but enjoyed watching it and it was nicely produced and presented. For a lay person, what is a PA or what are their duties?
The Production Assignment is the starting position for a film crew.
Great info. Subscribed. Best wishes with the channel.
Great interview. Thanks for sharing.
Great conversation. the off focus was distracting. :)
agreed
it's 2024 and I still film with this.
Sweet stuff!
I can understand where you're coming from when you say that you get bored of podcasts that always start with the guest's personal story and youd rather jump right into real world application of their experience, or "tips and tricks." On the other hand, not having the guest share their story, leaves them as a stranger to me. I'm about half way through this video and I'm just learning that Ashley is an actress - of course it doesnt diminish from what she's saying but knowing where her experience lies makes her perspectives more understandable. Not a criticism, just something that caught me off gaurd while I was listening along. I'd love to hear more about y'alls experience Edit: I'm about 3/4 the way through the video and am now learning that Ashley also works as a videographer, leading her own commercial projects as well as teaching video-centric classes.
Thanks for the feedback. I am definitely still figuring out podcasting and this is good to know. This one was off the cuff and I need to build more structure.
This is by far one of the best videos I have ever seen. It is so inspiring seeing those men talking about how they love what they are doing. And explaining the core of their job with all honesty, passion, respect and not being fancy or exaggerating anything. Thank you so much and kind regards from Germany. NEVER underestimate the power of the wind!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Don't overlook the MKI. With the dual pixel autofocus upgrade it is a really great deal and the image produced is the same.
i love UA-cam university, thank you for suggesting this amazing lecture-video. wish there was more stuff like this
Where are you all located? Love the content keep it coming !
We are in Greenville, SC area
Nice im out of Virginia @@IndieFilmHub
I've heard battery life is awesome on the C100s... is there any truth to this?
there are larger and smaller batteries. The Canon brand ones last the longest. But overall, yes, battery life is pretty decent.
Why were the questions muted? Would help with context
I only had the mic on the speakers. I will take that into consideration for future videos.
They need to rent a Mixpre 6 next time and lav the speakers plus put a cardioid facing the audience.
This is easily the most helpful lecture I've seen on the topic. Thank you so much. definitely going through all your videos on this channel now, yall deserve so many more views.
Great video Rhodes
