Brembo brakes for EP3 and DC5 for $350
Переглядів 18 тис.6 років тому
Thanks for watching. Great upgrade for your RXS or EP3 with a 5 lug set up. Just to recap, I bought calipers off a 07 Acura TL type S and they had the bolts they get mounted with already on them. They also already had the hardwear needed to install the brake pads. Aside from paint all I had to buy was the pads and rotors from the same year and model acura. Then a 5mm spacer in a 5x114.3 hole pa...

Just a quick video of me driving my 2002 Honda Civic si at my local autocross club in Clemson, South Carolina
What’s the redline on it?
Woaahhh did they change the amount of lugs in previous years my 05 is 5 lug
Where did you get it looking for one for my car but can’t find it
Do they clear 17 inch wheels
Lol learn to drive kid
My boy gravity bleeding brakes
Bro switch the calipers they’re upside down the bleeder screw is supposed to be at the top of the caliper not the bottom because air is going to rise
That’s true but the tl-s calipers have non symmetrical pistons. The leading and trailing positions are different diameter. If you swapped sides then they’d be backwards. However I believe you can just unbolt and relocate the bleeder valve with the plug. You can see it on the brakes in the video. I have like 4 sets of these in storage so I’ll go check to make sure
Attention to aLL car expert. Just using water to cooL down disc brake & brake pad. I suggest about a miliLiter per minute dropping on disc brake directly is very safe whilLe traveling more than 100 mph. to prevent faiL brake due to overheating. Or simply apply radiator on brake pad / disc brake. BECAUSE SAFETY IS EVERYTHING. .. especially those very heavy duty truck
I love these cars I have 2 of them 😊
Beautiful
Nice I just picked one up and it was so moldy and mildewy I didn’t even get in it to test drive it just started it 😂
wrong way dead lol
Do you upgrade de brake master cylinder ?
Where you been? No updates
Very clean
LMAO 🤣 upside down calipers
how is the brake feel??
What do you coat your headlights with to keep them clean for awhile
Nice 👍🏻
This is a nice si, but I expected those leaves to blow away when you were hitting the gas lol
Your brake calipers are on the wrong side mate!!
How are the semi metallic pads? I ordered some but I heard brake dust was bad
how much hp u pushing ??
They are just bolt on, in the ep3?
Installed backwards bro.
The calipers are on the wrong sides. The blood nipple is supposed to point upwards man
Lol backwards!!
hello what records are they? 300mm of s2000? Do you have to modify something to ride? Greetings
Your brakes are on backwards. The bleeder tube is supposed to be on the top of the caliper. You put the calipers on the wrong side you need to switch them. Or you will never be able to bleed your brakes right. Which stopping is why you wanted to do this upgrade in the first place I would reckon. But unless you don't want to stop do stupid s***.
Not to bad for a k20a3
wonderful car to get around with. especially if you aren't trying to break the sound barrier and beat it to death.
Hey bro what mounting bolts did you use
Couldn't you have mounted the calipers on opposite sides to get the bleed nipple facing up?
Where can I get the spacer behind the rotor to buy?
just on ebay or amazon
Where did you get the spacers from that sit inside the hub and in the brake ?
Oem tl s. Look on your local acura dealers website. I always call them...and ask them about my order.
Did you have to get extended wheel studs to be able to reach all the way through the first wheel spacer(the one you had to grind down)? Or did the stock wheel studs reach all the way to secure onto the 15 mm external spacer(with the additional studs on it)? I am doing this soon and don't know if I will need the extended studs for my Fa5
I had no problems bolting the spacer on with stock studs. Im not sure how a rim would bolt on without that external spacer
Nice bro, I have a blue 04 that still runs great! I’m hitting 230,000 miles! I Want to do engine swap later on and want to know if you know a place where to get low mileage type R engine?
Type r engine or a k20
1st gear rips I’m telling yaa.
Nice car
Did u ever found any aftermarket wheels to fit without crazy offset
I haven't tried to find any yet but I have 15mm spacer I believe it is to clear them with my type r rims and they sit flush with the fender. Those rims were never made to clear big brakes
could always run tl type s wheels? same lug pattern and obviously factory designed to clear the big brakes actually those brakes came on the base model 6mt. you could probably run 3g base TL wheels also.17x8 i think
Are you able to use 15in wheel with slick for track days?
I haven't tried but from my research before I did this upgrade it looks like a 15inch rim is too small and a 16 might be hard to fit also. The wheels I have are 17s
NotoriousNate ok thanks, I guess I'm out of luck for drag strip, but owell better stopping power for streets
@@nouchengthao337 yeah 16" minimum for those brakes.
I'll be surprised if you have a stiff pedal because the calipers are installed on the wrong side. The bleeder screw should be at the top of the caliper. I'm sure if you switched them you would have a much better feeling pedal.
Speaking from experience as Ive been driving for a few weeks like this, there has been no issues at all. I didn't bleed the calipers in the position that they are installed and I got all the air out. Once those screws are closed there is no reason to get air in the brake system
I was about to post that
You can't bleed the brakes properly if the screw is on the bottom.
Stop being an idiot and switch your calipers and make a new video.
@@onefortysixam9713*Yes he can. He just has the bleed the calipers unmounted and turn them up while bleeding.*
I have a question on the rear sway bar swap. What end links did you use? Im also trying this swap on my 02 civic ep3 but it seems like i need longer end links. Same sway bar that you have also. I was trying to stay with oem
Currently im on my second set of links. Originally I was using the same stock sway bar links that come on the rsx type s and one day I pulled into my bank at a angle and that made my pop and break a link as the car lifted a wheel off the ground. Now I am using the stock EP3 link which are longer and I just don't go to the bank in that car anymore. You just have to have both links disconnected at one end when you install so you can turn the sway bar to reach the mounting hole.
Hondata!
Looks so good with those wheels. I love the Taffies.
Ever replaced the timing chain on it ?
Sorry for the delay. Ive only had the car since it had 240k miles on it but so far I have had no problems with that. timing chains really do last the full lifetime of the engine with proper maintenance. Oil changes are very important. I have personally seen a worn out timing chain at 60K miles on a newer crv due to severe lack of oil changes. It wore it out which made it stretch and cause it to jump time
NotoriousNate all good mines got 207 bought it at 203 thought it skipped timing the other day but thankfully it was a bad vtec solenoid
Nice car. I bet I could beat you in a race.
just wait until I swap the motor
NotoriousNate to what?
Its a k20z3 which is a higher horsepower version on what is in my car now. Comes with 40 extra from the factory than my car did
NotoriousNate it would certainly be interesting
Dude great video 👌
