1.6L Spec Miata in SCCA race at MSR Cresson

- 1.6L Spec Miata in STL Class, Group One, at 2020 SCCA Polar Prix at MSR Cresson. This is the first 15 minutes of Sunday's 35 minute race. - This was my first ever race weekend, and second race of that weekend. The car was hopelessly outclassed in STL (and even for SM), but my brother was driving the car in Spec Miata (Group Six). Although we had similar corner entry speeds as some NB Miatas a...

MSR Houston - Competition Driving School - SRF2

Short video of a few moments from Competition Driving School at MSR Houston in a Spec Racer Ford (Gen 2). Video shows one full lap. Not my best lap - by this session on the third day, my tires were pretty much shot, and I was just trying to bring the rental SRF2 home in one piece. Still have a lot to learn, but I had a ton of fun. Time to go SCCA racing! - Instagram: @gt3marine
Karting at Circuit of the Americas (COTA)

A few laps at the COTA Karting facility at Circuit of the Americas (COTA). I need some work on my line and braking, but it’s still fun. The angle of the steering wheel is feels strange, which is why my thumbs extend at time. Need to work on that too. Instagram: @writeopenthrottle Website: www.writeopenthrottle.com
Simpson Hybrid S in F-Type

- I just posted this to show some of the movement I had in the seat while wearing the Hybrid. Because the back is made of “slippery” carbon fiber, I felt like I lost a little bit of grip/adhesion to the leather seat itself. - Instagram: @gt3marine

- 2017 Jaguar F-Type S following a 430whp Kraftwerks supercharged Honda S2000 CR at Motorsport Ranch Cresson in Texas. I spent some time looking at the S2000, and it’s the nicest and cleanest I’ve ever seen. The blue Cayman that went off track at 4:28 had some kind of brake failure apparently. - Website: www.writeopenthrottle.com - Instagram: @writeopenthrottle

Yes, the audio is bad. I added a Windslayer which was somewhat effective at eliminating wind noise, but it also muffled the exhaust noise. - Website: www.writeopenthrottle.com - Instagram: @writeopenthrottle

which year is this f type?
Thank you
Wow thanks exactly what I was looking for.
How do you attach the SAS straps on the seatbelt below?
Great vid. I'm getting the V8 so hopefully a bit louder. Cheers.
Best car I’ve ever owned…ever!! Especially the convertible
How is the sizing chart to the fit? The chart says to measure below your chest which is very different from shirt sizes.
bravo jaguar
thx mate
Nice. Thanks for making this video. Is the hybrid S the only hybrid that works on 3 point seat belt? The Simpson hybrid pro and hybrid sports aren’t good for 3 point seat belt right?
Yes, the back plate on it is longer to help prevent the device from rotating forward during a crash when on a loose 3 point seat belt.
Im renting a 2013 f-type V6 soon, no S model and no active exhaust button. Putting the car in dynamic + sports shifting and using peddals, will it give me the full exhaust note?
Love it 😍 Check my Channel for F-Type Videos 😍
would u recommend this? seems to be the only hybrid unit FIA approved for 3 point belt..i think it makes sense when using the seat belt cinch feature and tightening the factory belts to secure yourself .
If you need a head and neck restraint in a vehicle that only has 3 point belts, it’s your only option.
I think it’s a great unit you can use it in a normal 3 point seatbelt road car and 4+ point road car.
That is made for a racing harness I believe I don’t know how good it’ll do you in an impact
No it’s made for vehicles that only have a 3 point belt. That’s the whole point of this design. The spine on the device is secured to your chest, and attempts to pivot when your head moves forward. But it can’t because of the seat and the chest straps. That’s what keeps your head from moving forward without a 4 to 6 point harness.
I love my 2018 3.0l V6 S man, getting the quicksilver exhaust upgrade next month...so excited. Like just the stock itself sounds insanely good and it honestly doesn’t need that upgrade but Iam still getting it lol
Was the exhaust upgrade worth it? Stock sounded better than quicksilver on videos to me
@@BenR99 you are correct, I had the same realization. Stock sounds more crisp and little raspy which is perfect, tho this exhaust makes the sound more thicker and sports car like…it sounds good tbf. If you don’t really want to upgrade maybe spend that money on tune ir intakes or downpipes instead
Get the v8 all problems sorted😁
Play with the music of the exhaust baffles by doing this: Not in Dynamic mode; use normal mode. Exhaust baffles closed; don't press the button to toggle the active exhaust baffles open. Leave them on automatic so the car decides when to open and close them. Then, with the shift lever to the left, for sport mode, shift at the RPMs that open your exhaust baffles. You said that's 3500 on your car. It's 4000 on my 16 R. THATS how you make your exhaust pipes into musical instruments. Play with shifting where the baffles open and close. Practice to find the way to shift when they are partially open. That changes slightly depending upon whether you are accelerating or decelerating --and then play with a slight tap on the accelerator pedal right after the shift. You'll find additional musical notes there. (And then you'll alter your routes in order to drive through tunnels and wide overpasses.)
By the way, it's great fun to shift with the lever, too. Our car is a muscle car in a tuxedo. The shift lever IS a stick shift, that affords you a "Fast and Furious" shifting experience, although you can also use the lever with just finger-tip snicks. And of course those shifts are much faster than a clutch pedal could ever provide.
Cool Vid! Thanks!
The crazy exhaust note only happens in full dynamic sports mode. The car has 4 modes for the sound, active exhaust off, active exhaust on, active exhaust on and dynamic mode on.......and for the full noise that Jeremy Clarkson was on about is active exhaust on, dynamic mode on and sports mode on
I'm definetely going to buy one of these, pricey but i'm not going to discount safety. Planning to do my first time trial/track event.
I found 2 F type to buy in my budget and both comes without the active exhaust button. Then it's always closed, always open or automatically open at certain speed?
Same I am in the same situation, I found the perfect car color-wise, and spec-wise, but missing the active exhaust. I am worried that it will sound differently. Does the active exhaust just allow you to choose when you want the sound or is it a totally different exhaust all together?
Gotten an answer yet? Im renting one without active exhaust button soon and wondering the same thing
@@jdb7791 the ssame here also, if anyone can help us
I do believe the exhaust are different not just in the fact that you can control the baffles but the overall mufflers and everything else are not even close to his loud do yourself a favor get the active exhaust and whatever you do to make sure you get the V8 I just got a V8s last week and I absolutely love it quite possibly one of the best all-around cars you can get it does luxury perfect it does Supercar perfect and I. The convertible because I love to put the top down and that way you can really hear this thing
Great review. I bought one a few weeks ago and I love it. This was really helpful. It's shocking how quiet it is when you don't have it in dynamic.
Yes! It is very practical when we come in the neighborhood :-)
which is the best sounding f-type pls tell me i m planning to uy it in 5 month
