Thank you... And also... DiNozzo in NCIS which is in the same reality as Hawaii 5.0 made magnum references too... Which established it as fiction in their story line as well, so how is he a real "person" in Hawaii 5.0s "reality" ... Hmmmm ... As much as I love these shows continuity errors galore... When DiNozzo uttered those words it killed it for me... I was hoping Selleck would stumble into a case Steve was on because they were connected and original Magnum would teach him a few new tricks...

With the addition of Magnum P.I. to the J.A.G.verse, I theorize that the TV show mentioned in the various series was based on Thomas Sullivan Magnum Sr. The father of Jay Hernandez's character.
Technically now that they've rebooted Magnum PI and it's officially within the same show universe, this scene is breaking the 4th wall, lol.
Yeah but this episode was both shot and showed on TV, was at least a couple of years before they greenlit the Magnum reboot
@@kyletobin1246 I know, that's why I said "now that they've" I know this happened in the past, which just makes the 4th wall break unintentional, but if you look at the entire universe as a whole and everything that has happened within it, there was a time when the Five-0 team brings up the tv show about an individual that exists within their universe now.

John Taylor saw the trailers of the MPI reboot... Not really loving it... Weak attempt and too much flashy blow 'em up persona... Tom Selleck himself didn't like what he saw, saying 'Magnum fans won't stand for it'... I have to agree... And he won't make a cameo in it at all. Which leads to say, Hawaii 5-0 have a better chance of him making an appearance on their show... I favor of wanting that to happen.
Sad to say, CBS cancelled Magnum Pi in April 2022, due to unspecific reasons, as the show was holding well in the ratings, but there were signs the show was having problems, one notably writer/producer Peter Lenkov was fired due to dictating, unsettling conditions on the set, and having an exclusive-like ‘Men’s Club’ group in the production. I

True, because NCIS: LA and Hawaii 5-0 have crossed over. This would also put MacGyver in that universe, too, because of a MacGyver--5-0 crossover. Imagine the in-jokes they could come up with if Blue Bloods did a crossover w/ the new Magnum P.I.. Too bad Scorpions got the axe. Wouldn't a MacGyver--Scorpions crossover have been fun?
