Color Up Poker
United States
Приєднався 26 лют 2022
Follow me as I learn the game of poker. You may know me from my craps channel, Color Up! I love dice, but ultimately it is a negative EV game, meaning over time you cannot beat the game. Can I become a "poker pro?" That's a tall order but I'm going to have a lot of fun trying to improve my poker game as I spend more time in the casino. Will I end up taking any poker winnings and head straight to the dice table. Watch and find out!

Very great video. Been studying poker for about 3 months and ready to take my talents to the casino. Well needed video for me
80 hours a month is not gambling, it's a part time job.
Is this for US citizen only?
Killer vid for newbies! Love all the questions I didn't know I had!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Totally new players, home game players, online players, all sometimes have trouble at a casino or club. I'd particularly reference avoiding string bets. That announces to the world you're a beginner. I would also suggest sliding cards when you fold and never ever lift them off the table. You sort of pantomimed folding by somewhat lifting and tossing. Way too many things can go wrong. Just slide.
20:40 How I like to explain this is that the 1st raise has to be double the 1st bet. Then any re-raise after has to be atleast the amount the raise was more than the 1st bet. So $10 bet, $25 raise, re-raise at minimum would have to be $40. 40 is 15 more than 25, and 25 was 15 more than the 1st bet. Maybe my way of thinking is dumb, but it works for me lol.
Entry Fee, Rake, any other fees associated with playing would be good information.
ok i'm gonna try to ask my question as clearly as possible but bear with me 😂 1/2 no limit. preflop, under the gun raises to 7. next to act raises to 12. the last raise was only a raise of 5, but it was a raise of 10 from the original blind. to re raise, would you have to raise to 17 (+5 more than 12) or to 22 (+10 more than 12) i want to say it would have to be to 22, but can anyone confirm
Always remember the most important rule, you can try to learn and understand the game as much as possible but nothing is more effective than the actual experience to learn the culture of poker. As a new player, you will be nervous, and you won’t know all the tidbits- you will forget most of these answers while under pressure when playing. It will take time to adjust, I essentially did cold turkey when I turned 21, had never even played poker before, I went to my local casino, and checked the poker hand rank 2 min before I was seated. Did not understand what big or small blinds were, was still unsure of wether trips beats 2 pair or not (forget things like counterfeit, double gutter, wether 5-A straight was better of worse than 6-5 straight etc). You will learn all these things in the room. But it will take time. I’d say for me, without any knowledge of the game, it took maybe 50 hours to be the “average” comfortable poker player.
I was playing $4-8 at Wild Horse Pass a few yrs ago and they splashed $200 on the table for the next hand. (There was some kind of promotion). Anyway, I get the AK of hearts and a flop the nut flush. There's no pairs so there's no full houses. I know I have the winning hand. Everybody is betting & raising at $8-16-24 etc. Finally there's $1K and I win. I get one thousand white $1 chips. I can't stack them. They won't color up the chips. They wont give me racks at the table. My only option was to get racks and leave. I felt bad b/c I wanted to put the money back in play. But, fk them , I woke up the next day UP+ $1K
I don't understand, how were you not allowed to stack the chips? Did they expect you to just leave them in a big pile?
@@pctotty They wanted me to stack 1,000 chips in neat little stacks, like 20 stacks of 50 chips, it was impossible. One of my friends at the table came over and was helping me stack the chips, but the dealer wanted to continue, I was holding up the game , like I said they wouldn't color me up , so fk them, I left
I don’t gamble much, haven’t even played with chips before and the sounds are low-key ASMR
My local casino never honors the guarantee 😂 They just cancel the tournament when they feel they’ll have to pay
This was the best poker video I’ve watched. I have some family who is trying to to learn and this is the perfect video.
1 deck or 2 decks?
always 1
how do i cash in my chips? do i carry them to he front counter? how can i carry alot of chips?
Not at the poker table. Casino's have a specific place for this called the "cage area" or the "cashier". There are chip trays available for those that need them.
i never played at a real table and im very introverted. this video helped allot i think im gonns try it out soon :)
Great video!!! How much time would I have to think about my hand? Also, could I think outloud trying to read what other player(s) have?
If its only been 10 or 20 seconds and you look a bit aloof, the dealer or another player might signal toward you to make sure you know its your turn. After a minute or two, someone might "call the clock" on you. You are then given 1 more minute to decide. It is often against casino rules to talk about yours or others current hand so I would avoid it until you confirm their policy.
😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂
Regarding your journey, excited to have found you this evening! Will rewatch your older videos. Come back man, hope you're doing well.
This happened to me tonight, how's the poker journey been? I see you haven't uploaded recently, would love to hear from you, any advice is appreciated. Online player trying a room tonight for the time, it hurt. lol
Awesome first experience. I’ll follow along in your adventure.
Lol Jackpot. Poker is not lotto
My first time in the casino was so intimidating, something like this would be helpful
I just found your Color up Poker channel. All the content is from a year ago or more I think. Did you abandon trying to do poker vlogs?
Alot of information to learn than playing online, good vid 💯 ☝️❤👊.
Such a winner of a video guys.. Appreciate it
I have been wanting to play poker for so long! But have been to worried about messing up! Thank you for this video!
good video.
I am liking and subscribing. This answered my questions I didn't know I had.
Not a terrible start. Good luck to you. Your editing is pretty good especially for a beginning vlogger.
Being card is so infuriating especially when you play perfectly and only get premiums once every 2 months and you lose to 2-4 'os IT's pissing me off
I've heard when it comes to deciding if a rakes beatable main factors.... 1. ) can't be pro's or really good players at most of the table. To many good players male the game really hard to win. 2. ) Rake Cap has got to below 4BB and under 10% ideally. This Is a general term I've read some guru say if the rake cap is 6BB+ 90% of fish and pro's struggle to beat it. GG Poker charges 4BB in some of their games and thier well known for tough games. You can't game select thier and rakes are really high compared to other sites. If rake cap Is over 4BB 98% of the time your gonna struggle. As for timed rake the only way to know If It's beatable is to take average data If the average rake Is taken Is way lower than the average player makes It's beatable. Again needs to be a low BB amount. As for the percentage side of things most games are between 1%-15% up to a cap. Anything above 10% avoid only pro's should play thier. Ideally long and short 1. Games should be full of terrible players mostly amateurs and fish... 2. Rake Cap had to be below 4BB and no higher than 10%. For timed pots the rake has to be similar. 3. Never play uncapped games....
Man this is really good content. Seeing everything laid out so nice and you discussing the hands and stuff really makes me feel like I’m there. Planning to play some poker with a seasoned player and don’t wanna be too much of a noob lol
QUESTION: If I decide to use My right to ask my opponent to see his losing cards when he fold..can he refuse and say NO,or show just One card instead?
8-5-2024. Military, Navy we did not say 'full house'. We said "full boat". Same hand it just sounded more true to the situation.
Pretty cool to share your first session like this! I'll never forget my first experience with live poker in a casino. It's intimidating. I lost all $200 I bought in for within an hour and a half haha. One thing though, whoever is the first person to put chips out during a new street (new betting round) is "betting", not "raising." Raising is specifically when someone has already made a bet during the current betting round, but someone else increases (i.e. raises) the bet. Small nitpick though. Fun to watch!
I really do hope you pick this up again some time, I really enjoyed watching your journey and wish to see it to completion
Massively helpful and thank you.. More content please
It’s not a raise when you act first
Dam you are nervous your hands were shaking
Is this channel dead? I know the craps channel is popping off
Is he alive still?
This is an excellent beginner video. thank you
Thank you man this tutorial is absolutely useful! All your questions asked were right on point lol, exactly the same as what I was wondering as a beginner who never step my foot into the casino. Now I am much more confident and looking forwards to my first poker game
