    About six years ago when I was hauling containers, I took a 20-footer to some country-bumpkins in Iowa. Fireworks for the 4th-of-July from China. Same size boxes floor to ceiling and wall to wall. Took three grown men three hours to unload it. No rollers but a John Deer bucket on a tractor.

    Anyone watching this and just starting to unload Family Dollar trailers; I am telling you and warning you, Do Not Use product to hold up your rollers. Those workers will start complaining If they’re nice then they’ll ask you if you couldn’t do that, but from experience; they’ll most likely complain the entire time, lmao

      And also; Anytime this guy says; “it might happen” Just know; that it always happens, so not only do you gotta be okay with a bit physical labor, you gotta be compassionate and understanding Neither you or them want to be unloading that truck. It sucks for everybody, but working together will always make it go by better

    another thing that is a problem is the uboats used. rather than horizontal length on these carts, shorten that length and go vertical with a cart that has a step for stockers to get to the top shelves. the uboats are more useless than anything clogging pathways for customers etc. there clearly are no brains behind this like at walmart, kroger, meier etc

      From my experience, I'd say Dollar General since you'll have a lift-gate and the freight is in those fancy carts. Family Dollar you're doing it all by hand. Sysco is in the middle because - at least from what I hear - you can use a hand-cart / dolly....then again, you'll be in tighter places with Sysco, potentially. The Family Dollar is the most difficult of the three, and the most thankless - make sure you have a damned good reason to be on that route if you choose it.

      One company offered me up to $2k/week or $3k/week if you go out Saturdays and home daily. I don't see it though---no way someone is doing this job consistently in one day(or at least while having a life). All it takes is one employee going extra slow unloading your stuff onto the pallet off the rollers or a late manager not opening on time and you're behind schedule and screwed for the day. I saw one lady's video who did this and she showed up at 6am for unload and the manager was late and didn't show up til almost 9am. She wasn't even able to get into the back door til almost 10am. Now she was OTR so at least she had a sleeper... I can't imagine doing this home daily.

    I used to drive for Werner Enterprises on the Family Dollar contract. DO NOT USE THE PRODUCT TO SUPPORT THE ROLLERS! I did and got yelled at by the manager. Here's an exact quote from him. It's been years, but I'll never forget it because it taught me an important lesson on how stupid these training videos are. By the way, I used the EXACT SAME product as the one in the video. "Why the hell did you put the product under the rollers?! You idiot! Can't you see you're damaging the product?!" This video's a lie.

    I work dg dedicated, this is alot more work for sure for less money, I make between 3-600$ a day depending on the miles and stores on the trailer, I do 5 loads a week, im topped out in pay as far as cpm goes at .50 but the money is also paid per stop and also picking trailer up, I don't think I would switch from dg for only 250 a day lmao with only 3 loads a week. This is a joke 😂😂

      @nadiyah7071 3 роки тому

      DG is easier than this?

    • @droptozro
      @droptozro 3 роки тому

      @@nadiyah7071 DG has rolltainers, so in that manner yes it's way easier. The comparative issue with DG is that rolltainers can be VERY heavy at times if full of water/dog food(up to 1000 lbs) or milk(on the reefer side). Also there are toppers(the toilet paper products mainly) on the dry side trailer above the rolltainers and some loaders are not so helpful when it comes to this and you'll end up digging them out to get all product to proper stores. That means either moving RTs for other stores out of the way or climbing on top to get them dug out.

    • @nadiyah7071

      @@abdellatifminouch703nowadays most of them get paid 1.8k-2k a week to do that But I’ve been trying to figure out how much you’ll get paid if you got that load as an Owner Operator, but I still haven’t found anyone to talk to that will tell me; but I’m assuming it’s probably $1000-$2000 a trailer.
