omg pure unadulterated realism! fuckin love it
Thanks!!!!
How much you get paid an hour
$20.40/hr. We only get hourly pay for breakdowns and late loads.
collagen bro... buy the big jugs and take it as directed. i get mine from walmart... joints and back feel much better. i work for Performance food group
I’ll look into that. Thanks for the recommendation!
6 bags of flour is around my comfort level
Oh yeah! Stay within your comfort zone bro. I stack smaller depending on my energy level. More tired = more mistakes.
What time are you usually done by?
Depends on the day and workload. Avg time 4 days out the week is 2pm. That one long day I’m done by 4. I work avg 9.5-11.5hrs a day.
If it was me I would get another job lol 😂all props to you guys tho ..only the strong can do that job
😆😆😆
Look like u got a lot of dock stops easy money
Yeah that day I had 2 dock stops. Still had to break down pallets and roll it into 3-5 different areas either way.. Got to appreciate that!!!
Ok yeah that’s the killer the different spots but u made it work 💪🏾
WHAT NO MERCHANDISING OR CHECKING in?!?!? Man I’m doing good service once I get my experience at Pepsi
We get multiple guys coming from Pepsi and Coke. Get your six month experience and then make your way here! It’ll be a pay bump too.😉
Also, I run the same route each day. The customers and I have built a relationship and they trust that I scanned and delivered everything that shipped. If they’re missing anything or something is damage, I just communicate with them. But I pretty much just drop it off and leave.
The Dolly is my best friend as well🤣 I move household goods 💯💪🏻
I heard that was hard 👀
@@kickbackkris392 haha yeah , it’s definitely hard work and a lot of responsibility, but I have been moving for some years so I already had a lot of experience with that. I also hire help on the jobs 💯
Do you always get the same tractor?
No we don’t have assigned tractors. It’s a work in progress
My boy said “raw dog” 🤣 absolutely hell nah lol
I swear I say some dumb ish out here 😭
I'm not ready to get off the road, but im always keeping my eyes out for options. Im currently working for a company that is 100% floor loaded touch freight (floral products up to 40lb boxes) delivering to the same couple dozen customers with many being in very tight lots not meant for a 53ft reefer with sleeper in Chicago, philly, NJ and NY, and have no problem with it. I just don't have to scan products, so that would be new to me. I run strictly nights by choice as I choose my own schedule. I deal with some of our customers but often get in and out when the business is closed. I'm definitely thinking food service could be a good option for me as it seems very similar to what I do now, just local. I enjoy doing types of trucking that most hate doing.
You’ll fit right in! Depending on who you work for it could be strictly nights. Other companies also go by seniority and with that, you can choose the route you want based off of dispatch time if that’s what’s important to you.
@kickbackkris392 Are the times at each stop strict? Allotted time at each stop fairly reasonable? Micromanaging? I currently run on my own fairly strict schedule, arriving at customers about the same time and day and ending my 7200ish mile run in 12 nights consistently outside of anything happening or if my control with out hearing from my company.
@@thehomeless_trucker the delivery window is pretty reasonable. For example customer X delivery window is 5am-11am. As long as you arrive within that time, you’re good. Early morning night drops could be 12am-6am. Your performance is judge by your delivery time and scan rate. As long as you do the job correctly, you’ll maintain the minimum % which is around 98% for the week. Missing time windows will lower your % and not scanning every product will also lower your %. Management can be strict about the %. My management team are very good at figuring out a solution. For example, every Tuesday I get to this one customer at 5:30am and a rough morning. 5am on a good morning. Their time window is 6am-9am. If I’m consistently getting there before 6am, management will rearrange the route or contact the customer and stretch that time window. I made a short video on actual delivery time vs planned delivery time. I think it’s reasonable. My computer says I’m suppose to take 50min at this stop, but I actually took 45min. It really depends on load quality, but the time isn’t far off. I’m always ahead of schedule everyday and I don’t run during delivery.
@@thehomeless_trucker if you wanted to be OTR in food service, McLane has a division where you go to 7-11. Sygma delivers to Wendy’s. Gordon Foods has a regional division too. Sysco, US Foods, and Performance Food Group have home daily routes. Chik-fil-A and Dunkin are strictly nights. Some work weekends, but my US Foods division doesn’t work weekends at all. Those are just the big name companies.
😂😂😂😂
Not even a breakdown can get in the way of completing the mission 😂
My limit is 400 lbs or else I can’t tip it back lol. I’ve seen some of my coworkers do 10 rice down the ramp and I was like how are you not hurt yet?
I’ve done 10 bags of 50lb rice bags too and I must admit it was HEAVY! Doesn’t help when your handtruck tire goes nearly flat 😅 good thing you know your limit buddy. I was surely testing mine. I wouldn’t do it again.
@@kickbackkris392when one has less air than the other and wants to go one direction with a heavy load
@@donking1503 yeah that sucks! I’d really have to put air in the tires at that same stop
Wow they really make that job as labour intensive as possible don't they. Seems pretty backwards.
Numbers matter!!! Even in trucking, numbers matter!!!
PREACH 🙌🏾🙌🏾…welcome back bro
Back on my grind 🫡
love dem jammies, lol
Gotta sleep comfortably 😆
Glad ur feeling better man
Appreciate that 👊🏾
That experience is kicking in my guy. Killing it💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🫡
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm getting ready to go to the food service industry myself. Been out over the road for a year and a half now, I'm done with that. I want to thank you for these incredibly awesome informative and helpful videos. I look forward to seeing more of them. I know it's going to be a huge help for me preparing to get into this area of trucking.
I’m glad it was helpful. Best of luck to you!
I can't scoop stacks like that. The boxes never want to cooperate 😭😭😭
Aim for the corner!
was dollar general good money? was you home every weekend for 48 hours or just a 34 reset?
Yes indeed it was! I was home every weekend for 34 hours on the dot unless I asked for more time.
@@kickbackkris392 thank you
I do grocery. We unload our own trailers. But we don’t touch cases unless a pallet tips over. We use an electric jack to put the pallets in their respective coolers/freezer and head to the next stop. It’s basically food service on easy mode. Pays great and a 4 day work week at my company. Not a bad gig to look into if you ever get tired of touching all them cases.
That sounds like a good pre-retirement job! I used to do something like that for Lidl Grocery Store. It sucks because it was night shift. We loaded our trailers, head out to 2-3 stores, unload and done. My 2-3 days off were on the weekdays. I left because of the schedule. Are you working night shift? And who do you work for?
@@kickbackkris392 oh nice! I work for hyvee Out of ankeny, Iowa. We have 3 shift you can work. Everyone likes different ones but I do the early pm shift. They call me at noon and I look on a website and tell them what route I want for the day. It’s all based on seniority so as long as nobody above me took the route, it’s all mine. It’s a cool system. But usually I start my route at 2pm and I’m usually off around 1am or 2am. I love it because I can actually sleep at night time right when I go home. I used to be on the opposite schedule where I’d start at 2am and get home at like 2pm but I could never fall asleep when the sun was still out.
@@kickbackkris392 and yes the days off suck until you’ve been here for a hot minute. I’ve been here 6 years and the best I can get right now is Sunday, Monday, Tuesday as my days off lmao. The old heads who never seem retire are getting Thursday Friday Saturday off…
@@jordan2735 oh man I’d be happy with your schedule too! Especially the 2pm dispatch. I don’t know of anything like that here in North Carolina. Heck I’d be happy working 4 days a week with us foods lol. My body could use a break.
Do you feel like you have to rush while unloading ? How much time do you have left at the end of your shift ?
I don’t feel like I have to rush. My steady pace actually meets the time expectation for each stop. Our route delivery time ranges like 9-12 hours per day. So unless I was stuck in heavy traffic or I have plans to be somewhere after work, I don’t bother picking up the pace. We’re not hourly pay so it’s totally up to you if you want to run every chance you get so you can get off earlier.
Depends on the day, I can have 7 hours or 2 hours left on my 14hr clock.
No short stacks. Respect.
I’ll stick to LTL 😅
What’s that life like?
Dude you’re such a chad. Love the vibes and style man
Thank you sir!

On point how you stopped right in front of the camera!!! Great dang on job 🫡

Awesome video. Can you make a video on paid. Thank you for your content .Given us the heads up before we pursue our career in the food industry. Mad respect 👊🏽💯💯💯💯
My dawg @taythelocaltrucker already made a video on that. We work out the same yard. Here’s a link to his video. If that doesn’t work just search his channel and look out for “What is component pay?” Appreciate you my man 👊🏾 ua-cam.com/video/R6-kTJCaGRQ/v-deo.htmlsi=k6UxsrZkeuOpQE4q
Love the title of the video. Let’s get this mula.
I’ll pass more money To be made in specaialsed
Give us the deets 👀
Do you have any older guys working there? Lol. I've been otr for 10 months and would love to do food service but I'm but I'm near 60 and I'm thinking even if i think I'm in good shape for my age I'm not in food service shape...lol. Great video
Yes sir. We have guys in their 50s and 60s working here. But understand that they’ve been doing this for over 20 years. There body is accustomed to the labor involved. You’re right on target with not being in food service shape. I’ve trained guys who are gym rats and they’re in shape for the gym. They’re not in shape for food service. It’s a different workout. I’ve trained multiple guys in their 50s who eventually quit either their first day or first month. Same with 20 year olds. 😂 I still encourage you to try it if the pros outweigh the cons. Thanks for your comment!
What car is that at the end
2016 Toyota Tacoma
nice, i do that as well, if it fits, il do it one delivery. #Respect
👊🏾 respect bro 👊🏾
that twisting made me cringe a little as a warehouse worker. throwing boxes all day can suck bro make sure ur protecting ur back. whoever ur working for wont protect you when it goes lmao. ❤
You’re right about that! I try not to twist in an awkward angle too much 😅
What kinda fish?
They’re chicken thighs
so you do one truck a day? is it same pay if you finish earlier?
Yup. We call it component pay. It consists of mileage, cases, stops, and tenure. No matter how long I take, the pay is the same.
@@kickbackkris392 thanks big dawg i appreciate it
@@betogarcia9823 no problem! Just know some food service company pay hourly and some pay component. Depends on the division and state.
@@kickbackkris392 whats your cases count, mileage and stop? bi/weekly pay like?
@@leepialong anywhere from 500-1,600 cases, 78-235 miles, 7-15 stops, and average weekly 2k

that lower back pain/soreness aint no joke
Still sore to this day! 😅
@@kickbackkris392 i believe it 🤣
Careful bro, if USfoods sees this possible termination.
What did I do that’s potentially career ending?
You busted your ass but corporate starts hating when they see someone potentially making other income streams as hr manager for another food service company in Houston I’ve seen it multiple times great work just cross your t’s when on video they could get for -using that kind of blade - profane language -scanning cases off of dolly depending on companies work habit policies
But great video I’m a fan I was previously a driver keep hustling driver
@@halfpint1061 I see what you mean. Thanks for the heads up bro 👊🏾
How's that am-pm time though?
I like the AM start time. My dispatch ranges from 2am-4am and I finish anywhere from 11:30am-4pm
Small potatoes brotha
