Tank Beat - Nintendo DS - How to get laser tank! (And unlock 100% of Tank Library)
15 Years in the making, after a tip on a comment from freddiel8401 - we have finally the procedure to get the laser tank "Objex 13" in Tank Beat!
To unlock this we need to play the story mode to Level 11: At this level we need to defend the city. This mission is a pain and to unlock the tank we must destroy ALL 9 tanks that attack the city and not let any enter the red barrier box. This would be a huge pain on DS but with emulator we have access to save states and quickload. You can see me use this multiple times during the battle.
After completing the Mission 11, not letting any tanks enter and destroying all 9 of them, we are greeted with a different mission ending scree, telling us we have found some information about a "secret tank" (I completed this with 1 second to spare lol)
We then ALSO unlock the missions 15 16 and 17 in that order, I show these on video too. We must complete these missions where we attack an airbase, fly to the secret facility, attack facility, get the laser tank, then attack helicopters. After those three missions, the story resumes at the level where we fight Lynns sister (who suspiciously uses a laser tank, I originally thought there was a hidden secret here, where we destroy all enemies on the map and she surrenders or joins your side and gives you the tank, but this was not the way)
I also though the missions 15 16 and 17 could be unlocked via beating the last 3 skirmish levels 28 29 and 30 to S ranking or 90+ score, however after getting 100% on level 28 and nothing changed, that theory was proven wrong.

This is an absolutely phenomenal movie that I remember watching when it was released. It seems impossible to find now online in English as it's original language was recorded in Hebrew. I was able to fully reconstruct this film in 1080p as well as rerecord the English audio in 320kbps. Hopefully it is not taken down for copyright nonsense. Enjoy!
Ceiling furnace vent falling out of drywall ceiling FIX (Proper way)

A easy fix for a very common and annoying problem of having your ceiling furnace vent fall out of your ceiling (or not be flush\have gaps ect.) I highly suggest a small bottle of white paint to paint over the screw heads. I have setup every vent in my basement with my method and it looks and works fantastic. Enjoy!

Another vintage Compaq Proliant. This one was not without LOTS of trouble. Mainly was due to the problem where the server will not start and "click" when the power button is pressed. To fix this, we need to slam the processor cage into the server to seat it. I had a video on this but apparently lost it somewhere along the timeline of finishing this server! Not my favorite machine by a long shot...

Technically there are two processors that would be even more awful that we could use, however they seem quite rare and I have yet to come across one! Does the story change a lot if you decide to take the laser tank instead of saving the prisoners, or does it just change some dialogue?
The code 147 in the post code tells you that it is necessary to connect a storage unit, which has a previously installed operating system.

Might you know the passwords for the Teacher Options? Because I'd like to explore them but I haven't been able to figure out the password.
Sadly not, I've tried to crack into it without success.
@@dom80TA I just managed to crack all of them! The DAT files for Acts 1 and 2 and the GG files for Acts 4 and 5 are what have the passwords. Opening them in a hex editor and replacing everything with 0s removes the password gate. I might be able to set up a new password and use that to figure out how the password is stored so I can figure out what the password was. The Teacher Options are mostly useless for someone wanting to just play the game, but you can use it to look at the list of saved circuses in case you forgot what you named yours.

Thanks and same to you brother! I appreciate that tip so much. Not sure how you managed to find that info but it worked lol. I love how it can one shot lower enemies but only has a power rank of 3? Would have never figured this out if not for that tip either. I was SURE it had something to do with the rudia/my sister is a twat mission or getting some sort of combo/all skirmish at S or 90+ Score. Cheers!
Also you may have read too, there is also ANOTHER bonus choice ending at level 20? I am going to check it out soon. That wiki was full of info on the game I have never read before!
Yes the wiki is a gold mine. It’s probably because the game was originally released in japan. For the last few levels I think it’s less significant because you play through all four of them anyway, just in a slightly different order. Who would have known this game had that much depth to it though…

I did finish my playthrough and wipe the 12 or whatever enemies at level 20 and the ending playthrough is a bit different: You fight the bigass triangle tank THEN attack the train and then fight Cruze (red PSN105 tank general guy) but then instead of him dying he's like "youre the tank god and war is shit im leavin'" and the game ends but its suprising that those choices even existed. I always had a feeling laser tank was something to do with the sister as she drives one and there is a cutscene where the sis on your team says "oh you can join us bla bla" which i messed around on that level forever to try and trigger an event where she joins your side and gives you the laser tank!

Which CPU did you say you're using? I believe only specific firmwares support specific CPUs due to microcode space limitations. You can remove the firmware chips on these boards so they're really easy to flash.
Not all video cards are good, Try changing video card, it happened to me that some video card models are not seen by some motherboards. Try also the others pci slots. Sometimes the video card only works if placed in a particular slot and not in the others. See if that motherboard has the console in the serial port to configure the machine without using a video card But I think you have already tried all these things, they are basic checks, and also the things they recommended below, if it's a server maybe it has a specific machine management module. I don't know that model

the socket torqued to spec ?
EX microsoft lab vendor here, those thing does not have VGA output, the video output gos to the PDU, (yes, the PUD has KVM build into it) also the only NIC port on the mother board is NOT for BMC. make sure you have the jumper setup correctly , I could not get you the doc since I jumped ship. try to use newer Nvidia VGA card, the power on to POST on the screen may take a few min.

I should be able to use a graphics card with it as they were sold with a r9 290 something installed? And you are saying the network port isnt for the BMC? it looks like it is but you probably have a better idea then I do lol.
maybe try 1 cpu with paired ram? different gpu (perhaps a server gpu?) Can always try different slots or ram too.

Okay. So I am also going to be nice about another thing. It will not work with that graphics card. I noticed your graphics card port. And you completely don't see it. You will see next to the label PCIE Mezz What looks like a oval shape black connector with a bunch of pins that is your gpu connector It's using A GPU connector from a apple graphics card.. So you have no video out at all unless you find a pci graphics card, not A PCi Express card. Your GPU plugs into the brown slot on the mother board for external GPU Which is pci only not pci Express

Okay. So I am going to be very nice here. But I definitely can tell you have no experience with server boards. So I am going to give you a helpful piece of advice that PC I Express slot that you plugged your g. PU into is not APC. I Express slot. The 3 black slots that are on that board are for 3 riser cards that connect to Sata. Those are not PC I Express. You are missing the 3 Sata. Riser cards, these cards are necessary to plug Sata hard drives into without them. You are basically running the machine with 0 output. Because the machine won't boot without the riser card. Now. If you're wondering how I know this, you will see a black 4 pin power connector on the motherboard. That is a mulex connector and it is designed to plug into another cable which you don't have. Which powers the 3 riser cards. Usually on these boards, you network into them to get a video signal.That is another thing that you're also missing is a way to network into the machine. I really hope that this helps you because you will never Get that. Board running without the riser cards It's missing three riser cards

@lost4468yt No. They are not.You do not understand that a server actually has three boards that stand off of it for the sata hard drive he has the gpu plugged into a sata slot if he would just try a regular pci gpu not a pci express the machine may boot from the pci slot not the slot he has it in prototype boards rarely have a working pci express slot most are pci only or proprietary like the gpu plug on the main board for the missing graphics card.
I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that since this is a highly specialised purposed motherboard (read: to only run in lights-out datacentres for cloud stuff), the uefi probably doesn't have any video support. It's probably only accessible via serial, either through a serial port on the board or via the BMC.

on most oem server boards the gpus are picky. my r710 is like that
Try to get the BMC working, as that way you mgith get access to the logs or serial console where you might get the error message.
Check if the EPS 8 pins and 4 pins are supposed to be connected that GPU is probably too old to play nice with a lot of newer boards check the BMC for video related settings The board may require a bios battery

Those mobo ports are actualyl output power! I did see a document that shows a similar gpu supplied by oem for these machines. I have also tried battery in and out lol. Good suggestions though thank you. Next step is probably bmc access
This board might not have a UEFI CSM for support of legacy BIOS VGA output. Try a newer GPU with support for UEFI GOP (some Nvidia Kepler/Nvidia Maxwell/AMD GCN4 or newer).
i feel like that is what it is, ive had a few older dell's do that when secure boot was enabled
this is 2nd gen Olympus with Root of Trust "Cerberus" - if forced Dom to get dozens of new to old GPUs but none worked(if this is ithe issue)
I have tried quite a few gpu, with newest being my 730 UEFI version. All same post error leds. Whats strange is I get this regardless of gpu plugged in or not...
There's a github with all the documents you access the bmc through network. i suspect you may have to tell it to boot with the psu error (amber light )
it posts until stops at PCI enumeration. kbd reacts for numlock.
that psu light is just to show that there is a psu (non redundant) plugged in from my understanding
@@dom80TA the manual says "phase failure" i'm not sure that's the same as not having the second psu plugged in (maybe someone more familiar knows). does the pad labeled "pwr btn" do anything?
@@Malice11029 I am not sure either, the psu is a piece of garbage I had kicking around (didn't want to butcher a good psu for this lol) The pwrbtn pad is just a solder pad. I didn't try to touch these together with a pin or anything lol. boom! The whole system turns on with the psu switch. I kind of hate it. I can't see this being a power issue because it seems to boot up
@@dom80TA that was suspect to me. the blinking green "heartbeat" light is for the bmc, so the server is on but not completely posted. some enterprise hardware turns on but doesn't completely post until you press power button or power it up remotely (usually a web interface or something as the server is designed for remote power management)

@@danieljonsson8095 Its an aspeed1250, basically a stripped down aspeed2500 with NO video support. I have seen someone access it withj ipmi tool and its beyond basic what info it shows
though the memory bus is 64bits I wonder what a 32 bit operating system does with the memory.

Don't underestimate U320 SCSI. A sata SSD is not "several hundred times faster", not even close. SATA 1 caps out barely faster than IDE. With a good 64 bit PCI RAID card you can get some pretty crazy speeds with spinning disks, all things considered. I actually had six drives (15,000 RPM U320) all in a single RAID 0 stripe, just for fun, and it actually was as fast (maybe even faster??) than my Intel SSD in sequential benchmarks.
I had one of these back in 2007, bought it off craigslist for a couple hundred bucks. 200? 250? Can't remember. Mine had 3 or 4 10k U320 drives... I think 36 gb each. Dual CPUs, 2.2 or 2.4 ghz... and I think 2 GB RAM? Ran a bunch of websites, forum , irc, email server, and several game servers for a few years. Massive waste of electricity. Ended up replacing it with a P3 Tualatin 1300. Power draw went from 250W+ to < 30W. Big difference when running 24/7. Also a big help keeping it on when you lose power. Went from having a couple minutes on UPS to like 4 hours.

I know what you mean! I don't think there are any surviving downloads of this software anymore, and I can only assume my school board and every other has switched operating systems/servers and long deleted these from the computers...

Hey I had one of these in production. It was a P2, but it had the IML Display which was pretty awesome and configurable :) I remember that when booted it'd show my CPU and memory usage on bars. It also hat a DDS3 drive for my backups. Good machine.
That's awesome! I do have a P2 one as well, and also a PL7000 in another video with the IMD display going. Such a cool piece of hardware, shame it wasn't standard on all the proliants

We used to always say, when they said you can buy faster internet, and get faster computers. That they dumped so much stuff that it made it slower. Xp wouldn't be a good choice, as it has too much bulk, double of the previous versions. Yt struggles as it won't have the codec. And because of all the crap on there. Looked like a bit of fun. Oddly a old Compaq laptop I have from. The early 90's was faster than a friend's new one.;) P2 450mhz. Omnibook (the one with the media/cd player fast keys and LCD display so you don't have to turn on the laptop ;)
