Taurus-Realty | Basement Concrete Floor slab with Radiant Heat tubing (How To)
In this video I share How we poured basement concrete slab and incorporated RADIANT HEAT tubing for future use. Even if we already had Forced Air gas furnace, adding plastic tubes before pouring the concrete for our 1,700 sf basement was an extra $1000 + one EXTRA day of my time to run the tubing. Once the tubes are in, you can add the rest of the Radian Heat system components (Heater, pump, expansion tank, etc.) any time in the future.
You can NOT add tubing after concrete slab already poured.
We decided to have Radiant Heat floors option in the future for a small extra cost.

Very nicely done!
Looks beautiful! Need to connect sometime Taras! It has been a while…
Thank you Fred! Yes sure we should get together for a coffee :)
Well done!
Impressive Taras 🎉well done (as usual). Bravo 🎉
WOW, that's awesome... You should be very proud of all the HARD WORK you've accomplished... Congratulations 🎉👏🎉
Flat roofs suck ass, good job.
I can’t hear over the music and I really need help 😭😭😭😭😭
Seems like they have some really bad reviews and at $100 each I am uninspired.
so far we're very happy as we have 16 of them installed in that basement space. They provide nice bright lighting, but I agree with the price - I stocked them until they were $20 off on sale.
I don't think these are available in the US. Definitely not in my town.
Thanks for your comment. Any hardware store has wooden shims, mostly used for doors and windows installation, very cheap too. I buy mine at Home Depot. This placement immobilizes front and back gate movements and removes most of the noise. Otherwise those foldable front and rear gates jump and vibrate and cause lots of noise. I reuse the same wooden shims for over 6 months now but if you lose or break one, just take a new one, they only cost a few cents. This works well, reduced the noise by at least 80%.
@@taurus-realty Not sure how you got from galvanized trailer to wooden shims.
The music is very distracting
yes sorry, I removed music in my other videos when I speak.
What can be price of linear feet of underpinning ?
Thanks for your question @clementngamon9308 , contractor and engineers suggested $100,000 CAD for this space (43' x 38') but that doesn't include iron I-beams, iron posts, concrete floors, or entire basement entrance. This commercial basement is now complete with drywall, drop ceiling and I'll share the finished space and basement walk-out, roughly whole "journey" ran around $200,000 CAD for 1,700 sf. basement space. We're sure to amortize the investment over ~10 years of renting it.
This is a wild project. I’ve often thought of underpinning the basement floor a foot or 2 in my home for more space but seeing the amount of work I think I can give up on that idea!
I know two couples who did this for their homes with a smaller footprint; and on average it took them about 2 years, every weekend, after work, during the holidays, and so on. They succeeded eventually. We're glad with the contractor we hired for this. But afterwards we still needed to "build a basement walk out" (in my separate video) and pour the basement floor slab. We're glad is over and finished :)
Bla bla bla
Incredible job, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Make the background music louder so I can hear you better
noted :) yes I remove music completely from my other videos when I say anything. This video i made right on-site, on my phone and shared so I didn't properly QA it. lesson learnt :)
Pointless video
Pointless comment
Thank you for the question , but we were happy to not pay extra for soil disposal ❤😂
Amazing! Could you sell the clean land fill to recoup some of the costs?
How is this a trouble shooting? Replace the stove isn’t great advice.
I shared troubleshooting I did : traced wiring , replaced breaker , checked any wiring errors in the plug such as swapped wires , neutral vs red or black wires and my last option is to replace the stove , right from the box new it was defected , I shared my experience to help others and know that even New from the box stove came defective, new stove I bought was defective and this can help others who have the exact same issue ❤
Super!
Thank you very much!
Your wrong. Check the breaker.
did all of that, checked wiring, connections, even replaced the breaker ..... finally replaced the stove and recorded this video to save someone's time and energy I spent; looks from other comments those stoves aren't made very well unfortunately.
Turn off the music off😂😅
will do for the following videos, didn't realize it was that loud, Canva and Adobe Rush premier sometimes don't save the volume settings after editing each segment (voice vs music loudness), thanks for the feedback!
Damn the music in background 😅
definitely next time!
Esa estufa la tengo por dos meses, y ya tiene bolas de aire en el vidrio la están haciendo de mala calidad, no es justo
sorry to hear that
Yo la tengo también por 3 meses y resulta que hoy me fijé que no funciona nada de la parte donde está el reloj 😒
Taras, you’ve always been one of the hardest working people I know. Love this marble and the final look.
Merci beaucoup MJ! I have to catch up with posting videos as filming lots of my work but backlog in sharing them :)
The background music loud
will do next video, thanks for the feedback!
