    Id still buy it from O'Reilly's or Napa, rock auto ain't dependable on stuff like that interesting video though but there is way more to just the common oh it's the ipc or oh I had that problem just slap a ipr on it, DIAGNOSE the issue before just throwing money on it, what happens when you buy that cheap ipr from rock auto do you buy another one since it's so cheap and keep on buying till one works? Or do you do your homework first ?

    Can you make a video or do you already have one on how to disassemble the ipr valve like you have done here? I want to tear one i have apart to make a test port. As the ones i read reviews on seem to have wrong thread pitch.

    My 2012 Cruze Eco had this problem, too -- the little nylon gear snapped one super cold (like -10F) morning and fell onto my feet when I started the car and the blend door auto-cycled itself. I used a long, flat-bladed screwdriver to turn the gear. Eventually, though, it would turn back on its own, and air wouldn't be directed toward the windshield. I "fixed" this by screwing a 2-1/2" or 3" decking screw in in such a way that it wedged between the little gear and some other plastic beside it. Hasn't moved since, in over a year. This silly gear should never have broken, but if it did, GM should have designed the HVAC system in a "fail-safe" manner so that the blend door would direct air to the windshield if/when it fails, since that can be a serious safety issue in a winter snow/sleet storm. My Cruze has 260k on it so isn't really worth the money to fix this stupid problem the right way, but this works good enough for me.

    HI KING I use heat Shroud 1 1/2 .It is good to 500 degrees .Then I use a rubber hose .I put a small hole at each end of the hose for a small zip tie .You can step it down to smaller Heat shroud . You can get the Heat Shroud on Amazon . It will Fit IPR and ICP . Good Video .

    Thanks for taking the time to explain this. I'm pretty sure this is what's happening on my truck right now. And what's really annoying about it is that it can be intermittent but also seems to be affected more when the engine is hot almost like it has a high pressure oil leak from standpipe or dummy plug or something.

    • @justnsaliga8518
      @justnsaliga8518 Рік тому

      the best way to determine if your IPR is bad is if your truck exibits occasional poor throttle response. and sometimes cranks unususally long or doesnt even start. or you end up with a dead pedal randomly. also a choppy idle can be caused by it. now the only way to verify these issues and connect this as a concern is remove the IPR. (every time i remove a IPR i brake clean the entire backside of the engine where its at and blast it with a air compressor to prevent debries from getting in) and once the IPR is removed. check the screen if its got any hole or damage thats not supposed to be there you need a new one. just anytime dealing with the high pressure oil system always remember that the IPR is not a sensor. it gives no feed back its only commanded closed. by X amount. the only things to really look for in the High pressure oil system is the ICP sensor readings (and the truck can and will run and drive somewhat okay without the ICP working or damaged wiring) you may be on to something with the Hot no start. it could easily be a standpipe leaking. or dummy plugs. i rarely buy OEM ford motorcraft stuff. i replaced my standpipes and dummy plugs with www.amazon.com/Stand-pipe-Dummy-Plug-Powerstroke/dp/B07NVV1L3J and it lasted a very long time (no more leaks) until i had a aftermarket injector catastrophically fail and im now doing a engine rebuild. 2 years later and 30,000 miles.

      Yeah I have, the electrical connection end is nothing more than a magnet sitting on a tube, it is able to rotate without damaging anything. So if it’s not pointing in a direction you like just rotate it until you do. Just crack it loose move the connector end 180 degrees or so from where it is (without turning the whole thing, just the connector end) tighten it up and good to go.

    • @briansnik1848
      @briansnik1848 10 місяців тому

      Or run it all the way in hand tight, back off until the plug is facing you, plug in your wire connector, then tighten it with the wires on already, making sure while it rotates past the heat sheild it doesn't snag it... it was easy this way❤❤❤

    The 17mm bolt is pretty easy. I went in right above the belt/ac compressor with a deep wall socket and a 2-3" extension. Ended up ordering a Stigan brand turbo with the manifold gasket for $439, made in America! Ordered all new lines, replaced the gasket on the catalytic converter. Bought the copper bolts for less than $30 (GM brand) on Amazon. I paid just under $200 for all lines and parts. Out the door with the turbo I was just under $700 and doing my own labor less than 3 hours it took. Saved about $2400. Thanks for taking your time and posting this video!

      @jeronbennett4563 2 роки тому

      @@alejandroibarra6433 I had to do a temporary fix. I live in Canada and it got cold so one of the gears in the system snapped. The gear which he was moving in the video would fall back and default to blowing through the front. In the end I got my hands in there and wrapped a stiff wire around the gear which switched the air back and forth. There was a small metal plate towards the wheel that I then latched the wire to so the tension would keep it from falling back to the face. I'll need to go back in and take the wire off to get AC in the summer.

    • @kingmeat3055
      @kingmeat3055 3 роки тому

      I would find it hard to believe the car would stall from a bad turbo, you would have no power but it would still run just fine. that could be a number of things if no codes come up....I would start with fuel system

    • @OhhThatsKo

      @@kingmeat3055 ok cause I have a 2013 Chevy Malibu ltz turbo and it always stalls at red lights and my rpm idles up and down at park, I took it to the Chevy place and they said it was the turbo and I don’t have any codes except for and oil pressure switch

    • @kingmeat3055

    Can the exhaust manifold be taken off without the turbo easier than with the turbo? I have a leaking water line behind the manifold that goes to the turbo and to get by without undoing all those lines would make it much easier for me personally and would expose the line and let me access the line going into the turbo.

    the oil does not come thru the crack. the center section of the turbo is a completely separate part and can be changed separately from the other pcs. in my case the oil was coming from around the exhaust side of the turbo wheel. but there is no way oil can come out of that crack from the center of the turbo. great vid tho.
