Awesome job guys. Sorry I couldn't make it.
Woah, that's I made my first cards when I was 14 and didn't have the money to have a printer make them ... 😊
Great work!
Love the video! Thank you for everything you do .
Great job everyone.
Thanks Michael!
Another enjoyable video! There will never be a shortage of sawyer projects for a very long time with all the falling trees
Such an awesome video! So happy to watch you guys get those two big boys since I missed seeing those moments. Especially loved seeing that first one roll!
It’s always satisfying to see those logs roll! Enjoyed your video as well - really interesting how different the trip logs were from different parts of the crew!
@@SOTA-plus I enjoyed your editing especially! I always seem to get copyright strikes so I haven’t attempted to put music in for awhile. I usually only hold the phone in my hand as well and so everything looks like POV. Maybe one day I will get a reliable tripod haha Well, looking forward to more projects together 😁
Good work 44 Victor! Didn't know you had multiple call signs! Nice! Love that saw, looks well made. I'll listen for ya on 58 Mark and hello to Di. 73, KI6SLA
I’ve got KD7DTS for the amateur service, and W444V when I’m on duty and using the Forest Service frequencies. Handily, all the same emergency comms knowledge applies - ham radio is great training :)
sound gr8. subtitles =awesome
Awesome, subtitles ! Great for us still learning. thanks for sharing. 73
Thanks so much for this super useful and clean video. 73
This was fun to watch, and not far from where I live. :-)
So you’ve had good luck using the ATU-10 with the qmx?
It works pretty well with resonant antennas where it doesn't need to correct a huge mismatch. For random wires, it can be a bit finicky since the ATU-10 needs a certain threshold power before it can tune.
Sonido perfecto y un lugar muy bonito para QRP 👏🏻 73/72
I do the same thing, but with the FT-891 I can pull line level audio off the ACC port. I then use the Line to Mic level attenuator to pad the signal. Another tip, since you are using the Rode Wireless Go II mics is to set your mic connected to the radio to -12 dB. This will give you plenty of headroom for those received signals. Record stereo right your audio and stereo left the radios and then when you edit, adjust the levels independently and mix down to mono.
Already doing the rest of that! Dual channel audio is the only way. That digital -12 dB can’t fix the port overload - combination of these things seems to be the fix. Also, leveling side tone vs received strength before starting. I hadn’t been as careful with that before, and could end up with a 10 dB mismatch. Fine in the field, but not OK for a video!
@@SOTA-plus You're correct, the attenuator is a necessity, in addition to setting the level to -12 in the microphone. Mic level is much hotter than line level. Those little Rode microphones are a godsend to field recording. You've got nice audio
Great audio ! Definitely ordering this audio splitter . Thanks for sharing !
Have you been having the same clipping issues? Would be interested in seeing links to your videos before/after to hear the difference!
@ I have been using a 2nd mic next to the portable speaker. And that is just not cutting it anymore. Too much delta in the audio wavelength and not consistent. I’ll be using your idea and will give you a shout out for bringing it to my attention. Your audio in this video was your best quality by far.
@@SOTA-plus GM , tried the splitter yesterday into headphones and a DJI mic on the summit. worked perfectly. Audio is phenomenal! TU for making a video describing your idea 💡.
Sounds good. Thats a nice cw paddle too. Regards vk5cz..
Our household may have a key-collecting problem… but I always go back to the BaMaTech TP-III. Such a wonderful feel.
terrific job congratulations 73 from kb2uew
But where's the cat?!?!?!?! 😁 (We watch these for the cat, you know!) 😻 Outstanding activation, too!
Cat was hard at work studying antenna theory at home. She’s coming out again soon though!
I think you found the CORRECT setup. Sounds GREAT
Sounds good Mark...73, W6QR
Thanks Bill! Will you be at the banquet tonight?
@@SOTA-plus No, we have other plans. Have fun.
Audio sounded great!!!! Cool video Mark!!!👍🏻
Really glad it worked out! Always a bit of a risk when new gear first hits the field. Have you gotten up any more SOTA peaks lately?
Well done video! Thanks.
These vids are pure gold! Keep them coming! 73!
Congrats Di. Your code is improving nicely. Hi Ormoo
Thanks for the video! Here are some additional tips that I've learned after some struggle.... Disconnect the splitter, then plug in the USB-C cable into the phone, then the splitter into the KX2, and then connect the two. For some reason the app would use the internal mic if not done this way. If you're not triggering VOX, try going into SSB mode, then back to DATA A mode. Also ensure that VOX mode is on after turning it off and back on again... ask me how I know.
We got a similar cat - she just needs to learn CW now.
Maybe she needs pet buttons! We have a whole QSO sequence for our cats to play with - and it’s great practice for us to copy the random CW that the kitties send!
And this is exactly how promotional videos about HAM radio should looks like. People need to know that amateur radio can be part of their life, no matter what they are interesting in. Great job! 73's from Poland de SQ2YZM
The quality of cinematography of your videos continues to rise! I love the vibe of these SOTA+ videos, please keep them coming. :) I worked KD7DTS for the first time on your recent Pacifico Mountain activation. I'll be listening for you all and Ormoo on future activations! 73 de AA3TZ
Still learning myself so had to slow you down to .75 for me to have some good practice. Thankyou.

Congrats Di on your 8th summit and great job out there... Ormoo too!

Nice interview! Pete is the best. Worked me at 0900 local on 30m this morning in KY. Always smile when I hear his call. Tnx es 73 de K4FR
Great interview and thanks for sharing Mark. Peter is my #1 chaser.
New to this whole interview thing, but I’ll learn and improve with practice. Making videos is just like the rest of the hobby :) Thanks for the encouragement!
Hey Peter! 🎉
Nice! Great to attach a face to the callsign!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!!
Another Cool video Mark!!!
Amazing opportunity to meet with Peter & see him in action. Definitely brings joy to every aspect of radio!
Has Di gotten her 10 mountains? I haven't seen numbers 7-10. 72
