    Is it a total different experience using the Mx creative console on a mac than it is a surface? I have a MacBook and like you, love that the creative console comes with both macro buttons and a dial! You mentioned it was harder to setup on Mac?

    • @WillTalkTech
      @WillTalkTech 4 дні тому

      Honestly, I’m not sure if it’s harder or not I didn’t even try it, I would assume it’s about the same. My Mac combo is solid so I didn’t even touch it, but in the video I was saying it’s going to take up to much of my time to get it dialed in the way have my stream deck setup- I was being lazy and didn’t even bother with it.

    Great video. Really helped me to understand dictionaries and data jar better. I’d love to see a more complex use of data jar too so I can get more detail. Eg. Photos are in folders, inside folders are 1 or many albums, in the albums could be different categories. I’m struggling to understand how to add multiple levels. Keep up the great content though 👍🏼

    The creative console is still way too overpriced with 200$ If it had double the buttons ok but logitech just wants to take a bath in your well earned money. Rather invest in a good mouse and buy the , it has 4 times the buttons of a normal mouse AND an analog stick AND a 5-way d-pad.

    • @WillTalkTech
      @WillTalkTech 16 днів тому

      I get that, for me as a person who can’t afford to outsource editing, I have to find ways to speed up my edits and make them more enjoyable so it’s worth the price tag for me. Now if I wasn’t using it for editing than your right I honestly wouldn’t buy it because the stream deck has more Marco Buttons but I wanted that knob and the portability pushed me over the edge.

  • @DavidNutter1963
    @DavidNutter1963 18 днів тому

    Great video. I wish you had the Elgato Streamdeck Plus with the 4 knobs to compare as well. I have that, and I also have the Stream Deck XL like you. I just purchased the Logitech Master Series to replace my Microsoft Comfort Keyboard and Mouse. So, I have the Logi MX Keys S keyboard and the Logi MX Master 3S Mouse. Personally, having used many combos over decades of work, I'm in love with this set. So that lead me to the MX Control Console and your video. Perhaps you'll get your hands on the Elgato Stream Deck + at some point and do an update video.

    Blackmagic needs to release speed editor v2 with macro mapped keys. I don't need anything more than a jog wheel and about 32-40 macro shots. It would be great if you could control some parameters using the jog, e.g. use the zoom in/zoom out shortcut and rotate the jog. The same in the color tab. Shortcut contrast/saturation/temp and so on. I'm waiting for Blackmagic to finally do it!

    • @WillTalkTech
      @WillTalkTech 27 днів тому

      I personally would lean towards the Tourbox Elite because of the buttons & wheels and I would go with the Shuttle pro as my way go zooming through the timeline. Now if you don’t need wheels then you could swap out the TourBox Elite for the Stream Deck or go with the MX Creative Console but as a serious editor you will find it limiting only have 9 buttons and having to scroll pages it does break the editing flow. The TourBox Elite & Shuttle pro is just an awesome comb that can be used in many different ways with more Marco Buttons than I need for my workflow it really is my all around go too.

    I would like to make a shortcut for a grocery list in Reminders that uses a dictionary in Data Jar that has a list of categories and products under those categories to pick from. But I don't know how to use Data Jar to do that! Help.

    • @WillTalkTech
      @WillTalkTech Місяць тому

      If your using a dictionary all you have to do is pick array it means the same thing as list you can add your items and name. I will create a quick guide showing how to do this, you really don’t need data jar for this and if your going to use data jar you would you a list action and forget about the dictionary.

    The problem with the MX wheel is that you mapped it to scroll so it is affected by Windows scroll speed settings. Map it to left/right arrow instead. If you have a 3d printer, print a slip-on "hat" for the wheel with an indentation for your finger.

    • @meetspeak7796

      @WillTalkTech that is such a shame. Do you think they do it on purpose with Davinci?

    • @WillTalkTech
      @WillTalkTech 2 місяці тому

      I think they was trying to get the Creative Console to market. The speed editor has a jog wheel with three modes, so I’m hopeful that Logitech, will give us a software update that allows us to be able to jog through the timeline. I would also like a little dip in the wheel like the speed editor has so it will be easier to spin the knob with one finger versus having to grab the knob and turn it. Seems simple I know, but when you’re editing a lot of videos it makes a world of difference.

      Okay thanks, I’m going to double check I could have over looked it, I did see DaVinci Resolve remote but I didn’t see the app.

    cool stuff! My wheels somehow don't respond the same way...they don't scroll timeline or zoom in and out, just do track height :/

      I had to play with mine too, I think I switch it to left and right. And to zoom in and out I switch it to alt. I also was using the mouse click at one point which is what had me stuck for a few minutes. Hope this helps.

    IMO ? Skip the MX Creative Console and get the DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor instead-it’s often discounted to €250-300 and comes with a full license (I got mine for €249). You already hit the nail on the head. The MX Console’s dial is overly sensitive and you can't adjust it even in the Logi app. You know why ? Because the construction is so light of the dial, that using it "normally" you always slightly move it; and you have to re-adjust the unit physically; very annoying and takes you out of the zone. Yes, the Speed Editor is a bit larger, but can be used without cables completely; more, great tacticle buttons and a great wheel; far more comfortable to use-I even bring it on trips to Japan without thinking it's too bulky. I'm also team surface pro btw. I also tested out the MX console for LR/PS and just no, it's not worth it. For me personally, a hard pass. I returned it the same day i bought it.

      I couldn’t agree with you more, the problem I have with the speed editor is the keys are fixed and the only thing I like on it is the wheel and the cam buttons. Plus, with my speed editor it’s not that portable, that’s why I like MX Creative Console. Plus the Macro Pad and the ability to customize your keys to your liking, we simply can’t do that with our speed editor. With that said at my main editing desk I am using the speed editor along side my keyboard.

    You can change the voice you want it in to your Siri voice

    • @WillTalkTech
      @WillTalkTech 2 місяці тому

      Yes, what ever your voice is your set for Siri in your system setting that’s how she will sound when you run the shortcuts.

    But that’s like “Old Siri” speaking like a robot. Not naturally like she usually does.

      If you recreate this same shortcut with today’s Siri, she should sound like today’s Siri with natural language.

    Bruh, don't start your video with "This is a Raspberry Pi 5" when your title is "The Ultimate SBC". I almost instantly downvoted and moved on to the next video coz the Pi5 ain't it. Luckily, I gave it another minute. Anyway, good job. That's not a bad pick. It's also worth checking out mini PCs with N100s if you don't need the GPIOs. They're cheaper than the delta 3 with a better & newer CPU + higher RAM

      You’re absolutely right, I was trying to soften the blow of the Raspberry Pi 5 not being King. I’m glad you gave me a few minutes to clean it up. I’m going to have to grab the Mini PC and check it out thanks for the recommendation.

    They start with zero because in computer science and programming in general, all counting lists start at zero. If you create an array (a list of values) the index to reference the first value is zero. It is true in many instances of technology and development. Physical ethernet ports linux are given a name, the first ethernet port (and sometimes only port) is eth0, for example.
