Welcome to the Channel!
Serious Tips & Tricks, without taking ourselves too seriously.
As a coffee lover and coffee professional I'd like to show you a bit more about coffee without making the vids too serious. A bit of light hearted fun and education (hopefully). So hop on the caffeine train and let's go!
I'm a SCA certified barista and my work is to train people in getting the most out of the bean and in to the cup. As a coffee lover I just love to contribute to this great community by not taking myself too serious (on my channel and in life). There are a lot of other GREAT channels for a more serieus take on coffee, but I think a little pinch of comedy in the mix won't do any harm :), this of course by also teaching you a thing or two, or just to watch something coffee-related for entertainment.
Hopefully with your support I can grow this channel and start showing you reviews, tutorials and a lot more!!
Thank you!

Aim for 30 seconds and 1:2 ratio. Or go for ristrettos, as you seem to prefer restricted shots.
the best video about Turkish coffee ever!!!! thank you!!!!
Interesting video for comparing 2 grinders, but, now we have grinders like the DF83variable that is super low retention and SDose with changable burrs. The real question remains...The burrs. Taking away workflow and retention issues. Just on flavor we need to look at Ceado burrs vs the Niche Conical. You describe the taste difference of the Ceado not being so bright but with body. So using SSP, or the DF83 DLC burrs that come with it, or another 83mm burr set , maybe Ditting, or other like the new LeBrew burrs...tasting AND what beans used. Today, most espresso is Specialty coffees, like medium roasts, like City roast, and some lighter...So which beans work with which burrs best...This is the details of what is left as importance to coffee hobbyists . Maybe you can do such a vdieo to help us out?
A paperclip? Really?!
Drinking coffe from 6000 usd machine, sleep in 20 usd Ikea sheets. Coffee is definitely mire important in your life :)
Who needs sleep if you have enough coffee? 🤣
Good video, I wanted to know the size of the tip of your screwdriver. Is it 8mm?
Thank you. That Video helped me very much to decide. I just ordered the E37S.
Great video ty a lot 👏👏
Interestingly my pressure gauges goes past 9 bar up to almost 12bar when cleaning with the blind basket
shame that the Niche is made in China
Seeing it next to linea mini makes me want to get the ek as well. Seems like a perfect pairing.
This vid is amazing! I have had sour and salty so far and blamed my coffee maschine because i thought my Delonghi dedica is not strong enough! Many thanks. Best ever!
flat screw from ims ?
Can you make it simple and just give us the depth to set it to relative to something, like 'half way between the top and the tamped' or 4mm above it's tamped height, anything...
😂😂😂😂😂 love the angelic music.
what microspope is that ? can you connect to a PC ?
This was some pocket microscope I found online. It’s pretty simple and cheap and it doesn’t have pc connectivity.
Good grief! I wish I hadn't seen this video! 😀 I have a Linea Mini and a Niche Zero but the EK looks fantastic next to the Mini. Shame on you for tempting me ! 😂
Sorry!! 😂
min 4.16 you can actually see how the filter dilates from pressure 😮
i have linea mini and Niche and i was planing to get the EK43S - after watching you am more motivated now :D
Can’t go wrong with an ek 😃
FLAT ALL THE WAY< THEY ARE IN THE BEST GRINDERS IN THE WORLD!!
awesome ua-cam.com/users/shortsS6C_bz_YeFk?feature=share
where have u been ? ): do u still have social media
Busy with life 😮💨. UA-cam vids take a lot of time to make, which unfortunately I don’t have at the moment. But I’m still posting short (and simple clips) on IG.
@@iBarista what is ur instagram ? cant find
@@Ariekou hi Ari, it’s @ibarista_official
How did this coffee taste? Don't know, I value my life 😅Thanks for the video brotha.
which one is the best ? (quality of coffee shot)
The wdt is king
@@iBarista stockfleth with use macaron tamper. Which one is better?
@@Art-rh6gv Still the wdt is better. Because you can break down all the clumps and it redistributes all the coffee instead of the coffee on the surface. Takes a bit more time but you’ll get better results at the end.
Thanks, really useful. Initially had mine set so it was almost tamping, and was ending up with an uneven ramp too. Will set tool to the highest and work back.
Glad I could help out!
I enjoyed your video
What brand is your distribution tool?
Hi Newell, it’s a Motta distribution tool.
Nice. Awesome video. I was very entertained
I must say I've never used any Mahlkönig grinder, so I'm not going to argue the grinding quality etc. And I've heard that it's considered iconic in the industry. However its design isn't what I'd fall in love with. I know its German so engineering is what they care most about, but I still wouldn't put that in my kitchen. Hope my comment wasn't too harsh 🙂 and anyway the video is great 👍
You could say it looks a bit industrial indeed. Personally I find it cool looking but wouldn’t call it beautiful either haha. Thank you for the nice comment and glad you enjoyed the video! 👍🏼
I am literally about to have the same setup as you Edit: except for the scale and tamper
Happy times ahead!
I combine tap+leveller+WDT TOOL.
Just the pic of the grinds under the microscope was worth the time spent on this video. Very well thought out and presented to the point unlike some ramblers on UA-cam hehe. Am considering a flat burr grinder just to see what the difference is. This helped a ton! Much thanks!
Thank you for the great feedback!
Coming from a Rancillo Rocky and only making cappuccinos or lattes. Do you think the Ceado 5p with some mods or is the niche worth the extra money but lose that legendary Italian build of Ceado?
Never worked with the Ceado 5p. But if you’re considering modding it with upgraded burrs then it’ll be a simple choice because it’ll blow the niche out of the water taste wise. On the other hand the niche does have a great stress free workflow.
@@iBaristathank you for the response. Like SSP burrs for a upgrade?
What is the drawer that sits under Ceado, please?
It’s a coffee knock box.
@@iBarista Yeah, I figured that out. 😀 I meant what brand. Thanks.
@@MrMilanina 😂 it’s a generic brand and was gifted to me. You can find similar products and better with ease on aliexpress
Waste of money- just stick with the manufacturer recommendations for crying out loud.
Why so bitter? This thing is easier to clean and there is no possibility for grinds to stick between the mesh and the metal ring, since it’s made of one solid piece. But you do you, no problem 😉
So, thanks to your video I was *just* about to buy a Niche Zero...but here's what stopped me. I live in Switzerland (non-EU country BTW) and though I shouldn't have to pay UK VAT of 20%, especially since I also have to pay import taxes + fees to CH anyway, apparently they charge it to everyone. Some might say this is worth it, but I feel we are all cheated enough in life, I would rather avoid it when I can.
Understandable. I was lucky enough to get it before the full on brexit rules where implemented. Or else I’d also be paying through the nose. Thankfully there are other good options these days for not (too) much more money.
@@iBarista Yep, we are a bit spoiled for choice :) Personally I decided on the Eureka Oro Mignon Stark 65 since I can get it for about 480 EUR. Thanks for your reply and the informative video in any case.
Thanks I like the idea of switching coffees easily which is harder in a normal hopper machine….good demonstration ! How do you feel about the build quality compared to the CEADO ?
Absolutely a great benefit of a s.d. grinder. The Ceado is built like a tank, with much heavier components. But naturally it should be since it’s twice as expensive and made for commercial use. The Niche is still made in a proper way, but the Ceado wins easily
Very interesting particle view under the microscope. Thanks for this video. Good review.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the vid!
Really nice video and review. Like the interesting style.
Thank you!
You got yourself a good coffee machine. Now would be a good time you get a proper grinder too. Cheers.
Patiently saving up for one 😉
Niche Zero is not a good proper grinder?
Now I'm confused. Every other review I've seen concluded that the Niche Zero with its conical burrs brings out richer textures and more chocolatey notes while flat burr grinders tend to bring out more clarity and fruity notes. But you're review concludes just the opposite.
Not all burrs are alike. I have have a video about the ek43. Which confirms what you say, the coffee it produces is high in clarity and distinct notes of fruits and florals etc.
@@iBarista The grinder I'm really curious about is the Momentem. Looking forward to seeing some reviews after it's released.
Great video! Really enjoyed the comparison.
Thank you! Appreciate it :)
Just curious why you didn’t use the tamper trick to single dose the the E37S. Plus now it comes with the worm gear adjustment.
Didn’t really like the workflow compared to simply shutting the valve of the hopper and unfortunately the worm gear wasn’t compatible with my ceado’s serial number.
4:30 play at 0.25 speed. However, I still don't know what I'm looking at.
Hi Mason, the all started at the same time and you will see differences in the first drop and the location and time of the stream of coffee. As you can hopefully see, the wdt took the longest the become a stream (due to the evenness of the puck prep). Hope this clarifies it a bit.
All looked good. Grind size is the key.
I think it’s “sponsor.” Lol.
I've been pulling a few shot today, with my new distribution tools, in my single, double and triple, with a bottomless portafilter, the shot were amazing
Good to hear! Which brand are you using?
@@iBarista Just a cheapie, but it does the job, it's one of those distributors/tamper in one
Dreamy set up! Respect.
Thank you Thomas!
Nice one! Cheers from Germany!
Glad you liked the vid!
Wait sooo…what is the difference between levelling and distributing…wouldn’t levelling it distribute the ground as well
Yes, but not in the lower parts as I set the tool a bit more shallow. It can be set a bit deeper to distribute the lower parts, but personally I don’t like the results.
